Brightline does not have a station at FLL. You would need to Uber to the closest station, ride the train, then UBER to your hotel.  Easier to just Uber/Lyft from FLL to your Miami hotel.

John, how long does an Uber ride take from Miami port to FLL?  I am looking at a 1:10 flight out of FLL.  Seems reasonable but wanted to double check.  The train said 30 min but doesn't have traffic to deal with.

    Whats your plan B & C?

ummmm. LOL  No, seriously, there are later flights, but this one is optimal as far as non stop and good arrival times.  I don't have an issue being off the ship early and snagging a taxi.  My biggest concern was Friday morning traffic.

  3. Hi all, I tried searching but couldn't find any results.  I apologize if this has been answered somewhere.

I am looking at my 1st MSC cruise on the Divina Jan 28-31.  I can fly out of MIA at 11:03 day of departure. American Airlines.

    Is that doable?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. We sailed the Majesty on the Nov. 9-13 sailing to Bahamas. 4 night cruise. My brother-in-law was admitted to the hospital yesterday with Legionnaires Disease. We did not get the email about the ship being contaminated until the afternoon of Nov. 13, after we had just gotten off the ship. If we would have known the risk, would have had that letter prior to boarding, we wouldn't have taken the cruise. That should have been disclosed to anyone getting on that ship since July. For now, myself, my husband and sister are fine, but they say it could take 2 weeks for the symptoms to manifest. I would not sail on that ship, especially if you have any other medical issues, are elderly or have small children. It is the shower water that is contaminated. You are obviously going to take a shower while on board the ship. This was very irresponsible and unethical on Royal Caribbean's part.

I am curious...what symptoms was your BIL presenting to make him go to the Dr?

Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery!

  6. Well fancy that. Other people have gotten emails and letters. I haven't received a thing. Didn't get anything while I stood in line Nov 6 for 4 hours. Didn't get anything when I asked for it ALL THREE DAYS of my cruise. (Well, 2 days really since I lost a full day). I was told every time they were "out" but would find one and send it to my stateroom. And still can't get one during the 2 times I've called on this issue so far.

But hey...I did get 25 whole dollars for losing 1/3 of my cruise, being exposed to a bacteria, and being lied to about it. Seems fair, right?

And before people think I'm assuming anything, I have been in contactwith the CDC in Miami. They confirmed to me that yes..there is an open case of Legionaries on Majesty of the seas. And yes, they confirmed it came from the ship. Was she supposed to tell me that? Probably not. Just like she probably was not supposed to tell me to skip customer service and go straight to RCI's legal department.

I guess my point in all this is just how piss poor RCI has handled this whole situation. Most of us are intelligent and rational. Just give us the truth and the facts, and let us make our own minds up. That's all I ask...oh, and more than $25 stupid dollars.

In the meantime, if one of you that actually got that email would please forward it to me, I'd really really appreciate it.

  7. Actually the dining was one of the bright spots! I had forgotten how close together the tables for two were in the middle of the dining room. It was kind of the best of both worlds... No one felt obligated to chit chat like you would if you were at a large table. But you were close enough to carry on small talk while you ate. I never felt the need to take my tablet. I really underestimated how awesome people can be. I met some truly lovely people at dinner. :-)

  8. I talked with the CDC in Miami this morning. They did confirm there is an open case of Legionnaires on Majesty of the Seas. They could not give me any other information. However, when I mentioned that many passengers weren't told of this and were not given paperwork I got several "ohhhhhhhh"s. She told me they couldn't give me any paperwork, but advised me to skip guest services and call their legal department.

I did call guest services again just to be sure. The rep this morning told me no other compensation would be given. I don't plan on letting this go.

  9. I just called the 305-539-6000 corporate guest relations number. What I've been told is "The president and board of Royal Caribbean are currently reviewing all aspects of the boarding problems and sailing of the Nov 6 sailing and are working on s compensation package. Once a compensation package has been agreed upon it will be emailed to the emails on the reservations." So we wait. Again.

I did get a big laugh when I opened my email and saw the guest satisfaction survey waiting for me. They asked...

  10. The fact that there wasn't an actual riot or fight says great things about the passengers on board, even the young rowdy party crews. Things could have gotten out of control to the point of getting hurt. RCI sure did nothing to help the situation and I don't think they were nearly equipped to handle that massive crowd.

  11. I'm so glad to be off this ship! I sure hope they aren't planning on sending out letters saying no additional compensation will be given. $25 was a slap in the face. I got to my room late Friday to realize my door lock wouldn't work. So as a solo female cruiser I slept with the light on since my door wouldn't lock. Maintenance wouldn't come until the next morning... Sounds like they were up to their ears in plumbing issues. Like I told guest services, my health and safety were both potentially compromised. To tell me those things are worth a measly $25 is an insult. I had planned on booking a future cruise on board. I decided to wait to see how this is handled. There are too many choices these days for customers to be treated this way.

  12. Guest services told me they agree the obc is a joke. There have not been authorized to offer more until they hear from corporate tomorrow. More is coming, but they don't know how much. I expect to not be satisfied. They gave me 50% off my drink package for today and are keeping bar service open later.

We are moving now. Will see what tomorrow holds

  13. Several people got that notice. I was not one of them. And they are "out". I'm so not happy. This is not noro. We should have been given the option to even take the cruise. I've told them it's not an option... I want a copy of that notice. The delay was the CDC, not anything else. They flat lied in the original text.
