  1. I am associated with a travel agency and seldom encounter problems with using their online booking system, Espresso. When I have encountered problems I have always found an individual in the Miami HQ who was most responsive and professional in getting resolution. I also find that the call center personnel are much more expert and responsive over the last 6 months. I certainly recommend that you search out a travel agency that will meet your needs, and as Phil recommends, provide some added benefits such as on board credit.

  2. To answer the rest of your question, a selection of 2 reds, 2 whites and a rose are offered each day. Additionally a sparkling wine is also offered. The free liquor offerings are more than adequate, IMO, but if you want you can purchase more upscale liquors either individually, or in a package good for the entire cruise.

  3. Before the Quest was chartered it was scheduled for the itinerary that was erroneously listed as the itinerary for the Southampton to Montreal cruise. Miami is aware of the error.

You can complete the online check in process now, including printing your Xpress Pass. Luggage tags can't be ordered yet. They usually can be ordered by the online check in process about 45 days before sailing.

  4. Although Transatlantics don't have an Azamazing Evening there probably will be a White Nights Party held on the ship. In many ways they are more fun and less demanding on both the crew and passengers. Bring a white outfit and you will fit right in !

  5. Drop off your luggage as soon as you are ready. There will be porters ready to accept your luggage. Just don't check any valuables. You will probably be able to check in, as well. Hit the buffet when you board since they usually carve a ship's roast beef on departure day. Also check to see what time the muster drill will be held before sailing. If you've registered for the Meet & Mingle also check to see what time it will be held. Enjoy your cruise.

  6. Larry has been advocating this itinerary for quite some time, and considering that he will celebrate a significant birthday during the cruise I expect that there be a few surprises. We, too, have booked the overnight camp excursion.

  7. I second Ann's response. We always lock our luggage and carry our valuables in our carry on bags. We have never had a problem on any of our cruises, other than another passenger taking my bag in Stockholm! Liesel, who was the Guest Relations Manager, was able to intercept the bus carrying the bag and retrieved it for us, and delivered to our hotel in town. Still don't understand how it happened since we have 8 inch labels with our names on each of our pieces, in addition to several other distinctive ID's such as our Travel Guard policies. All's well that ends well !

  8. I was on the Journey with a large group of friends who cruise Azamara frequently, when they announced this repositioning cruise. The prices were extremely low. Apparently a lot of folk who enjoy Transatlantics ( the majority of whom have done many Azamara cruises ) jumped on it right away, which caused the voyage to sell out quickly. The pricing has since been adjusted and we have friends who recently tried to upgrade from one veranda class to another. They passed since the new fare was over $2,000 more per person than they had originally paid!

  9. Drinks are available as long as the various bars are open. Depending on the itinerary the Pool Bar will open at 10 AM or 11 AM. The Living Room Bar is open by noon for the Captain's announcement. The Sunset Bar usually opens around 11 AM. The daily Pursuits lists the bar times for each day. The buffet , main dining room and the Patio will have wines and beers available during service hours, but the staff will gladly fetch you other drinks and serve them to you.

  10. Absolutely agree about the kudos for Ryszard. In Nantes last year we had arranged for a taxi with the concierge since we had a TGV train to catch early in the morning. When none showed up Ryszard took charge and asked people to get off the local shuttle that was scheduled to leave at 9 AM. He arranged for a back up bus for them to leave at 9 AM and instructed the bus driver to take us to the train station. We made the train by 3 minutes!

    Once again - well done!

  11. I've had friends do multiple "Golf Cruises" They are very expensive and appeal to avid golfers. There have never been more than a dozen on any that they have participated. As Robin says " no big deal" or interruption to the ship's routine.

P.S, Just got back home to San Diego from Nice via Munich and San Francisco connections. A 25 day B2B that was superb in every way, Magnus did a great job as Captain and Tony ( and Christina ! ) were wonderful. Iwan did an outstanding job in many special dinners and rice tables. Sorry, but I can't agree that the food quality has slipped. My waist can attest to that! Made many new friends and got reunited with many other dear Azamara friends. Finally won in team trivia. Congrats to all the "Mixed Nuts". Now it's off to bed after 28 hours of traveling.

  12. We have been very pleased with the "free" walking tour provided by the Sandeman organization in many European cities, including Barcelona. They occur daily and you can either register online, or just show up. The guides are very knowledgeably and usually very humorous. They work for tips.

If you are going to the Gaudi cathedral I recommend that you sign up for the escorted tours, which have a reasonable charge, but guarantees a very insightful experience, and not having to wait on a long line for admission.

  13. To answer another question, I heard that one of the containers that had additional seating for the Living Room was lost, and has yet to arrive. Eventually there will be more capacity in the Living Room which should make it a good venue for the M & M. Hopefully all will be well by the time we board on March 26th. The Drawing Room only works for a very small M & M.
