The Staff puts them on every chair and folds them to make sure they are uniform. When I was walking around early the last day, I saw the Staff on the Retreat Sundeck and Resort Pool deck placing all the towels. Such a nice touch.

Thanks I have seen the folded towels placed at times.  I was referring to the last pic posted where they are covering the chairs and it appears there may be a bag and chair clips etc. as if people who are not there using them are reserving them.

Got up a little earlier today to walk around and take pictures. I’ll post them throughout the day.

Thanks for your review and posting all the pics Mac.  Interesting to see the towels and bags on all the loungers on the Retreat sundeck that early.  I can’t imagine the staff put these there so is it safe to assume the chair hogs have now migrated to the Retreat?  We have not seen this on past cruises in the Retreat so I hope it is not an issue on our upcoming Apex B2B.

  3. Caymus was $25 per glass in Luminae on Equinox this past November.

If you get a good sommelier they will back out a 4 glass premium package credit ($60 total I believe) on any bottle purchase.

re: Caymus for $75 per bottle in VA...can you please let me know where this is I would like to order some.  I haven’t seen it that low in a few years.

  4. We’ve sailed in AQ many times and have really enjoyed Blu on all the S class ships.  We have waited in line or with a buzzer many times even though we usually arrived around 8:30-9 no big deal.  We moved up to Suites and really enjoy Luminae so haven’t felt the need to go to Blu.

On a recent Equinox cruise we stopped by to ask the Maitre D if we could dine in Blu at some point and he explained they were too full on that particular cruise again no big deal.  This does happen!

I really would like to meet these Suite guests that wall on water, are over pampered, catered to etc. because I think Suite guests as a whole get a bad rap for being demanding etc.  I have encountered many demanding guests on various cruises and I know for a fact they were not in Suites by their pass in the lanyard around their neck.  If Celebrity would better manage this dining room policy a lot of people would have to move on to another topic to gripe about.

  5. Thanks Jim this is what I was looking for.  I figured due to the location on Edge the process would be different and you wouldn’t be able to “slip out the secret back door”.  I just wondered if they made any other special accommodations in a designated suite only area to expedite your departure.

  6. Looking forward to our upcoming Edge cruise and am curious if there is any priority disembarkation for Suite guest with the location of the Retreat Lounge on this ship?  We have really liked the convenience of being able walk out of the Retreat Lounge on our past Equinox voyages.  Any feedback or tips would be much appreciated.

  7. My wife and I are mid 40’s and I think will be on our 7th Celebrity cruise next week.  We typically always cruise longer itineraries in February.  We already have two more booked and if history repeats itself will book another while on board.  We frequent the bars, pool, activities, and meet plenty of fun and nice people regardless of their age.  Bottom line you can have as much fun as you want in many different ways.  We enjoy escaping the winter, quality meals, adult beverages, and above average service so Celebrity meets all of our needs.  I wouldn’t get hung up on the “older demographic” that everyone references.

  8. Has anyone experimented with the best areas to get signal strength and optimal bandwidth on any of the S class ships and ideally on the Silhouette?  We have used the Internet periodically on prior X cruises on our phones and iPads with a small package.  We will have the unlimited package for our upcoming cruise so I plan to bring my laptop and was wondering if anyone has successfully used WebEx or GoTo meeting while at sea?  Does anyone know where the best place is for signal strength and bandwidth?  Thanks.

  9. Does anyone know if you can take a jar or two of unopened olives on Celebrity?  We will be going on our 7th Celebrity cruise next month and always get the premium drink package to enjoy dirty martinis as well as many other beverages.  The olives have always been a major disappointment so I was thinking of taking a jar or two of jumbo queens with me this time if permitted.  I have asked many different people on many ships if they have larger olives and they do not.

  10. This topic always makes me laugh but it is very frustrating when trying to find an open seat. A possible solution could be to have to check towels out with your sea pass card and then return them somewhere when you are finished with them this way people would be accountable for the towel or risk a charge to their account. Less towels would be left laying around this way which would mean more “open” chairs.

Perhaps I will conduct some surveillance on chair hogs on my cruise later this month and post it for everyone’s viewing pleasure and a good laugh.
