  1. Verizon has a $25 per 100Mb roaming package that's claims to be compatible with the system(s) on all Celebrity ships. I am a commission salesman and keep track of my emails whilst on vacation. I want the almost instant notification of an email which is possible via data. This uses very little data if one sets up their phone right and it's connected all the time. We get two 90 minute WiFi packages with our elite status and do use it. However, I was on the Eclipse in 2/2014 and could not get my phone to connect to the on ship cellular system for data. My phone DID work for data on every island. I was able to get texts and make and receive calls whilst on the the ship. Verizon had no idea why i couldn't connect as my phone and plan were correctly set up for it. I tried many times during our 2 week cruise and asked countless employees on the ship about this to no avail.

    My question is this: Have you been able to use a Verizon smartphone for data on a Celebrity Cruises ship since 2/2014?

    I will be on the Eclipse watching the Super Bowl in 3 weeks! Nice!

    Thanks!

    Can you describe how you set the phone up to use very little data etc. I also use Verizon and am interested in being able to access email etc. for my upcoming sailing.

  2. You wont have any issues. The last time we went of out Ft Lauderdale we were off the ship and at our gate by 9:00 and we didn't carry our bags off.

    Thanks chotton. Did you have to make any special arrangements for this or did they set your disembarkation based on your flight?

  3. A: I would post this response on HAL;

    B: We have both upgraded from a '123 Go' deal and bought the premium package on Trans Atlantics.

    We like our Martinis; we always drink wine, by the glass, with dinner; we often have beer or wine, by the glass, with lunch; we always go through at least three bottles of Evian (each) daily; we almost always have at least one Latte after breakfast in Al Baccio. We could always order an Evian right after ordering a Latte; A Perrier right after a Martini;

    C: I tend to sip my Martini fairly quickly. Never had an issue ordering number two.

    My calculations have always been that we come out ahead.

    Lol ditto Sasset and then some! Find your favorite bar/servers and an occasional $20 will ensure you never go thirsty.

  4. It is an older demographic however you can have a great time. My wife and I are early 40's and have never disappointed. You won't find an all night rave but there are many good times to be had exploring the premium drink package.

  5. It was 20% on our January cruise. There'll be tables in several places (outside each entrance of the Oceanview Cafe and also on deck 5) where you can book or just look at menus. You can also visit the restaurants that afternoon for their "open house" - I think it was 1-3pm.

    Does the 20% only apply to dining that night or can you make a reservation for another night and get the discount provided you make the reservation on the day they are offering 20% off?

  6. Sean was still on board during our sailing, but we left on 1/31 so maybe that was his last cruise. We came across several crew members who's contracts were ending after our sailing. Overall I would say that the singers were ok, but overall were not great. Then again I saw people listening to them every night and I think its subjective. Some nights it was great, other nights, not so much.

    I also looked at my dailies and it seems that the DJ spent his time in the sky lounge where we did not go. They did have a live band and dancing in the atrium on several nights though.

    Ok, I'll post all of them.

    You previously mentioned posting the Dailies do you still plan to do so? Thanks.

  7. People who sail on the Connie have an affection for her and her crew. They just seem to stand out on every cruise! Also, since the Connie has been around a lot longer than any S Class ship, it is only natural that you would read more comments about her. If you ever find an itinerary on the Connie that suits you, I think you would enjoy her as well. :)

    Thanks foe the insight. The duration makes allot of sense on the post volume. Perhaps a Connie itinerary will be in my future travel plans.

  8. Reservations in Blu are not required and I don't think they actually take them. If you arrive at the busiest time you may wait 10-15 minutes max at least this has been our experience on Solstice and Reflection. It was just my wife and I so larger parties may differ. Reservations are net required for Persian Gardens and the ceramic beds are never overly crowded. We have never been there early in the morning but I don't ever remember having an issue finding an open one.
