On voyager it was an 'informal' meeting at one of the bars. So you had to have you Gaydar on high or go around asking 'are you here for the gay meeting'. We seemed to settle on 'are you here for 4.30 informal meeting' [emoji3].

Oh and also greetings from the land down under :)

Been on several cruises on RCIs voyager of the seas out of Sydney this year. And they had an informal gay gathering everyday at one of the bars listed in the compass.
Thing is we are not as recognisable from fellow travellers so I felt to awkward to ask strangers 'you here for the gay meet up' :). So soon learned the code of 'you here for the 4.30 informal meet up' instead.
I met some nice people from those meetings. Still chat with a few on FB.

Yes I have noted above that it looked like the prices had come down since last year in the Australian market. And those staff pushing the drink packages are everywhere. I swear they would follow in to the the toilets if they thought they had a deal :)

At least the Aussie dollar is on the rise :)
-
I meant that apparently in November last year drinks were $12-$14 each. So a reduction of around $2 in a few months.
-
Denice - when I purchased a mocktail on voyager last week the menu price was $4. And that's what I paid - $4. So I'm assuming the 18% gratuity was built in to the menu price?

Most drinks on voyager of the seas are $10-$12 each and include gratuities (they have to as the cruise is from Australia) so seems the Australian market is cheaper

If you're out at night on Oxford street try the Palms bar. 70 and 80's music :)

Coastalrap - Australia has very high tax on alcohol. It is used as a deterrent to reduce drinking and it's adverse effects of violence as well as future health risks.

Hi Rick. Newtown is also a good for gay activities. But also lots of hip shops and cafes :). The rocks is a good place to start. Access the opera house, harbour bridge, city and the harbour itself :)

Hey jeff. I just got off 28 days on Legend of the seas. Thoroughly enjoyed being on board. I packed too much :). But you will get plenty of time to meet people and get to know staff a lot better :). Have a great cruise.
Jon.

So am I the only gay in the village on the Legend of the seas Singapore to Brisbane on 20 November 2015.

Hey jbin. Yeah Sydney on mardis gras weekend is the gayest. I tend to drive from Canberra and stay the weekend. Next year I'm on a 7 day south pacific cruise that gets back to Sydney on mardis gras parade day. It was meant to be :)

At the start the ultimate drink package on my legend of the seas Asian cruise in November 2015 was $26AUD. At one point it was cheaper than the replenish package ($28AUD). Its now gone up to $85AUD. Go figure.

And on humid hot cruises that's easily achievable if you also like to have a few at the club into the early morning :)
