  1. I have been thinking and the buffets are definitely short of staff tables etc are taking a while to be cleared and this week due to the winds a lot of food is blowing onto the floor in the outdoor seating area.

Our friend had a funny the other day with flying food in as she nearly got hit in the face by a slice of pizza that had blown off someone’s plate!

Lol. That is a good one. Don't even have to go get your own food. Just wait for some blowing around. For that matter don't have to bring your own suit bottoms either. Just wait for them to blow onto your balcony.[emoji2] [emoji12]

Loving your posts Nikki. Thanks for all the Intel.

  2. Not true! I just purchased them for our March 3 sailing. I had to call and ask for them. $89/18 drinks. WooHoo!

Read a comment that maybe our vouchers will not be honoured. You are going the week before I am, can you update once you are onboard please. Also, new post saying no more coffee vouchers. Thank you.

  3. So glad to see someone else who didn't enjoy St Thomas. I really can't see the appeal and I'd certainly stay onboard, too, if I'm ever on a ship that has it as a POC again.

Have to say two things here about St. Thomas! One good, one not so good 1) We did a wonderful private jeep tour last time with Island Buddy. Can't say enough good things about them. They will take you where you want to go or you can follow their lead and just get shown around the island with someone else to do the driving while you sip on rum punch. They also go to St. John if you prefer or have been to St. Thomas multiple times. Going to do that next time. 2) Watch out for vacation clubs who try to lure you in with a free gift. I have never been approached while in town so not sure if this is something pretty new or not. My senior parents just purchased and I feel like they were taken advantage. They spent $5000, and it is not a timeshare so they own nothing.

Wonderful review Nikki. Thank you for dedicating so much of your time. Love the menu's and food pics! Hope you are having a memorable wonderful time.

  4. Maybe you could make an arrangement for the staff to transfer them to USB, but I don’t believe you could do this from the self serve kiosks. It would be an IT security risk for them to use your USB drive for this, so they might want to sell you an overpriced USB drive. This is pure speculation on my part.

You can also download your pictures after the cruise but people have been reporting that there is a significant delay between the end of your cruise and the availability of pictures to download. This seems risky. If you have an iPad or android tablet you could download your pictures to one of those too over wifi.

By the way, the staff have become more efficient at using their computer equipment compared to early posts and reviews for Seaside. In fact, it was much less of a zoo at the photo area on the last sailing day compared to Divina last year.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I have a tablet so I will bring it. The USB is is brand new in the package still. I'll bring it and see if they might do it. 21 days and counting![emoji568]

  5. Hi, group pictures are fine as long as you or someone from your cabin are in the pictures.

You give the photographer the photo card to scan after the photos are taken.

You can use your room card instead and have the pictures transferred to your photo card later.

You can’t transfer pictures via USB. You download over wifi one picture at a time to your device while on the ship (best practice).

After a photo shoot, Staff will sometimes hand you a distinct photo shoot card instead of using your room card or VIP photo card. Bring this photo shoot card to the photo centre the next day and they will transfer the pictures for you. This was done primarily for outside shoots after getting off the ship at ports you visit.

If they take a photo of you but do not scan a card, you can find the picture the next day printed at the photo desk. You can then ask the staff to transfer that picture to your VIP photo card. There is a unique number behind all printed photos that they use to pull up the picture on the computer and transfer it to your card. This happened to me during the Super Bowl when staff took pictures of people in the Sports Bar but did not hand out or scan cards.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks, sounds a little confusing but I think I get the gist of it. Why do you think no USB because it is wifi? There is no hard connection at their computer? I don't really want to put them on my phone in case there is not enough memory, plus last year I left my phone on a plane:o:'). I have google photos, I guess they can be stored there? Without bringing my laptop anyone have suggestions how to get the images to the USB?

  6. Thanks CP1824! I bought this package too. Great info. So if I understand correctly once I have the VIP card we just hand that to the photographer before they take our picture and all the photos will automatically be loaded to it? We can go to the photo gallery and transfer them to a device to save them. A usb stick is okay? If we want a group photo with members in another cabin do you think this will this be a problem with the photographer or they won't care as long as they have a VIP card, they will put the photo on it?

  7. Just wanted to make a few comments:

    - I read on Facebook a comment that getting on the boat in Cozumel was a “clusterf...”. Much different than my comment above... I though the situation was handled very well by crew...again it was impossible to get so many people on board all at once... I think because we missed grand cayman day... everyone wanted more time in Cozumel and came back to boat at last minute...given that boat still left in time shows that embarkation process worked...

    - sharing some feedback from my friends about venchi. One of our lady friends is a big venchi fan... she gets three expressos every morning...:-)... there are two ladies taking orders at venchi... one is very nice to our group. There is obvious tension between the other one and our “three expressos” friend :-) first time she ordered her “three e..” the waiter told her that she will sit next to her to see that she drinks all of them... :-( our friend told her to get her boss and the captain and sit down to see and have a chat... I was not there when this happened... we are a group with 7 premium package and 4with fantastica coupons... she was probably concerned we are sharing drinks.... however there is a better way to handle the situation... like bring drinks one by one or say that company policy does not allow her. Our MDR waiter Runa, handles us very well and she is getting a tip every evening.... same group... the othe venchi waiter is great as well... she is coming to our group, the other one steers away from our us... :-)

How did dinner work for you with different experiences? We have 4 Fantastica and 1 Aurea. Can we sit together at dinner if the Aurea want to come at our time? We linked our reservations.

  8. We saw baby menus for the dining room in a youtube video. I don't remember if it was for Seaside or another MSC ship, but I would think it would be across their entire line if they offer it. Has anyone had experience with this? We have a 7 month old travelling in our group.

  9. Seaside does not have a miniature golf course. A couple of times during the week they put a putting green on the pool deck close to where the movie screen is located. It one hole with a strip of AstroTurf, one putter and a couple of balls. That's it.

Mytstery solved, thanks Cruzluver! Now do you know about mega jenga? That one has me thinking giant foam jenga blocks and teams of people trying to move them around. Similar to Hasbro game show on Carnival

  10. You have to call to book it. The rep I spoke to said it is showing up on some sailings, he specifically said March 3 and 10. I checked online after booking it with him on the phone and it doesn't show online to book. One of the quirks of MSC I guess. If you have a different date doesn't hurt to call in an see.

  11. Glad you loved it. Looking forward to going in 32 days! The countdown is on.

If you took pictures of the dining room menus can you post them please.

If you participated in any activities/crafts/games can you give your opinion of those? I saw mini golf and mega Jenga listed - how do they do that? Seems like there are a lot of dance classes too, how were those?

  12. Hummer88- awesome news!!!! 18 Drink vouchers now available on March 10th sailing. Call in to book it, I don't see it online.

I called to book coffee package and the rep asked if I would like to add any other drink pacakges, water or 18 drink vouchers---- Yes Yes Yes.

  13. I just booked these for March 10 Seaside sailing. Brian, the amazing rep said he has started to see them coming available again on some dates. Note, this did not show online as being available on my booking only knew about it from calling in.

So happy! Anyone who still wants to get in on this should call and see if it is available for their date.

  14. Can maybe answer a few of the questions, as we just completed a 7day cruise - Western. There are many "sales" in different stores and scattered throughout cruise. Definitely saw watch sales and T-shirt sale, I think they were $10 per shirt, mostly labeled with the different isles visited. Two elegant nights, Sunday and Thursday. Italian was Tuesday night.

Sorry to interrupt the great pizza debate. LOL. I am most entertained. Thank you Plantlady for your answers, this is very helpful.

I fell like I have to get in on this Pizza debate: Pizza a the worlds perfect food, since there are so many types and varieties and toppings, I just think you can't go wrong with Pizza. I absolutely love love love the Pizza from Pizza Pirate on Carnival. It is in such high demand that it is always hot out of the oven. Since the one on the MSC ships sits in the buffet, I am wondering does it's taste and quality suffer from sitting under heat lamps? I would like to know the opinion on MSC pizza from someone who loves Carnival's pizza. If you have also had Sorrento's aboard a RCCL ship and thought it was "just okay", then I believe in your opinion about MSC pizza ! :D
