We usually save around 800-1000 for the deposit. We tend to try and book a year out. We owe 900 by August for our cruise on the Valor. Luckily were in our mid 30s no kids, no debt and I work full time.

A little background I've sailed on the conquest, breeze and will sailing on the Valor in Nov. although my wife and I like Carnival, the thing that lacks is entertainment and that WOW factor. We've been to Jamaica, Bahamas and in Nov which will be out of San Juan.
