I will be following along with this cruise report. Im loving it so far. Im booked on Breakaway out of New York September 1 and am looking forward to reading your posts and seeing your pictures of this ship. I am also an introvert and love to find quieter places with no crowds to sit and read or just watch the water.
Quick question about muster:on Norwegian do you have to get together and assemble with everyone assigned to your muster station,or do you just go on your own and do the procedure and be done with it like we do on the cruiseline I normally sail on?

I don't think Carnival has ever shown John Water's Pink Flamingos even late night.😁
Now I want to go post to John Heald's page and suggest they show this on the big screen.

I am on the same sailing of this ship and I cant wait to take this cruise! I have made several attempts to sail on Paradise beginning in February 2020 .Twice I had to cancel due to unexpected expenses coming up and taking time from work. the other 3 or cancellations were due to Covid shutting everything down. I will take this cruise,I dont care if i have to walk to Florida lol. im looking forward to it

Question about Amber Cove, we are set to cruise there in July 2023.
The big pool area that you can see on google maps just south of the port: (Aqua Zone?)
1) I'm assuming you have to pay to swim etc there, what is the cost per person?
- Do you have to "pay for an excursion for that?"
2) Can you do ziplining and other activities in that area? (I'm not looking to book a ziplining excursion, but they advertise some kind of zip line and other things to do.
3) How long is the walk to get there?
Thanks 🙂
Just trying to decide if we are going to do excursions there or not....
No,the pool is totally free to swim in. the cabanas are extra cost. they do have a zipline that goes across the pool area. when I was there last it was 20 dollars a person for unlimited trips. there are also two waterslides free of charge. they have a bar and a restaurant right there as well. No ou dont book an excursion to use the pool area. It is an easy walk to the pool.

Im really loving seeing all the pictures of Amber Cove and Grand Turk. I cruised on the Magic in January and both of those stops were on the itenerary. Grand Turk got cancelled due to either too many covid cases on board or on the island,Im not sure which. I did get to go back to Amber Cove though which was nice. Im booked for September on the Freedom on a cruise that goes to Grand Turk. Cant wait to get back there again, its been too long!! Looking forward to seeing lots more pics of you and your wife's great adventures!

Because of the freedom fire, maybe you can switch to MG on carnival’s dollar. I wonder if it will be done with repairs by then and if carnival would let you switch!
Im wondering the same thing. Most likely it will be repaired by then.if not, then hopefully I can get on the Mardi Gras. It leaves the same day as the Freedom, and Im flying Southwest home so can easily change my flight

I'm going to guess at why they don't want people wearing t-shirts may have to do with what is on the t-shirt. There may be "offensive" pictures or words/slogans on said shirts. Instead of just saying "no T-shirts with inappropriate slogans or writing", they chose to say no t-shirts all together.
I suspect you are right. I can easily see people deliberately pushing the envelope by wearing one with a slogan that is meant to provoke others just to start something. I would be happy to not wear any shirt with inappropriate slogans or images.

I don't even understand why it is even a rule at all. I feel they should do away with the "no t-shirts" rule on cruise casual night. Casual is just that... casual. I occasionally have worn them in the dining room on casual night before, not really realizing it was a rule, since I dont peruse the list every time I cruise. To my credit ,I do follow the rules for dress on elegant night, and go slap on a dress and pair of flat sandals to wear to dinner. I dont understand why they dont want people wearing t-shirts, some of which I have bought at ports and even on board Carnival ships.

This is awesome! That last photo of the couple in the matching suits, are my good friends. They buy new matching suits for the first elegant night on every cruise! The second elegant night they dress more formally. Its a vacation. Enjoy dinner in MDR and the people watching
I have a feeling I would enjoy that couple! I like them just from that one picture. Those outfits are great!

I head straight to the atrium bar and order a Funship Special and get my cheers sticker.then walk around a little or go to Lido for lunch.

Just want to thank all of you who have posted about upsell offers. I have been looking at my booking on the Panorama in February and found a 3 offers. We have our first ever cove balcony midship. I was offered aft room 9475 for $76 total. I was surprised it gave me the specific room number because I haven’t heard any one mentioning room numbers. There were two other offers. Both were for $262 total. One in spa room, no number and the other for family habour room aft facing room. Since we didn’t want to pay any more and wanted to stay in our cove room, I turned it down.
i wouldn’t have seen those offers, until I read all these posts about them. We didn’t receive any e-mail about the offers
I got one in my email yesterday .Im booked on the Victory for September 9 and had an interior on deck two.Im cruising solo by the way. the offer was for a balcony on deck 6 for 160 dollars. I went ahead and accepted it. It doesnt save me a lot over what the price would have been if i had booked it to begin with but I figured, why not.. quiet time on my own balcony watching the sun come up with a cup of room service coffee, perhaps a drink late at night watching the stars and ocean. My only concern is that it appears to be a quad cabin. why would they offer an upsell to a solo cruiser from a cheap interior to a balcony several decks up. Arent those more desirable?I hope they dont try to remove me if a group of 3 or 4 decides to book last minute

The percentage of seasoned cruisers who are genuinely happy about getting a lanyard must be around 0.
I am a seasoned cruiser and I really liked my lanyard on my last cruise. I was thankful to get it.

I definitely agree about the art auctions. As well as anything to do with the spa or the jewelry, expensive perfumes, purses etc. I avoid all that like the plague. I also dont attend Quest or karaoke. I find so much to do that I do enjoy.

I always miss the blankets, they gave them away two times, once they were grey and once they were blue, and we seem to cruise in between them or after them now I am going in May and the blue ones will end this month. I would of loved to have one of those
I would love one too. My first cruise as a Platinum is in May and I understand they wont be doing the blankets at that time. bummer.. the blanket would be nice to have while watching the movie on the big screen on Lido.
-
i always pack my pair of water shoes . I paid about 5 bucks for them years ago at Walmart and they are great for wearing on Lido or for the slide. my feet don't get burned from the hot deck and i dont have to fool with taking off and putting back on flip flops everytime I want to go down the slide or get in the pool

I am glad I spotted your review of the Victory. I was on the November 12 sailing of this ship to celebrate my birthday and your review really brought back memories! I loved that ship so much. I did the Cozumel and Key West itenerary of this ship isntead of Nassau and Half moon but I have been to both of those ports before and really loved seeing your pics of Half Moon Cay.. Im not a big fan of nassau. In fact I just switched a cruise to Nassau and freeport to a better cruise on the Breeze, going to better ports in may
-
Im hoping the blanket will still be around in May. I will be cruising as a Platinum for the first time and really covet those blankets.

I don't see how that entitles you to higher rank. I'm nearly platinum, live in Florida and typically do an indoor room because I'm rarely in the room and it serves as a bedroom and a closet. Yet, you think you deserve more than me? This could get really political really fast and I won't go there, but, that mind set is a lot of what's wrong with this country in general.
Very well said.
Hope this isn’t true and doesn’t happen

It is for me. Plus the 70 bucks I saved by only being able to buy it for 7 days instead of 8 next week will now be added to my on=board account and used to buy drinks the first day. Im not about to complain! I dont need 15 drinks a day. Or even want them.
