In Dublin and Cobh you will have to specify you need a large taxi.
In Dublin, if it's just to take you into the city, there is a bus near where your ship gets in.
-
Doing this cruise in October too. Looking forward to any tips you have.

Most banks will have an issue with large US bills - perhaps that was the problem.
-
New Zealand every time for a land holiday - what a fantastic country.
I would agree with donaldsc, unless you're stopping in each port for more than a couple of days, you might miss a great deal in trying to get to the next port.
What a lovely choice to have to make! Enjoy whichever you choose.

I saw someone mention Amex - don't bring Amex cards to Europe - very few places accept them.
-
You can get a 24 hour Stockholm card that covers transport and 80 museums - it's 525SEK. How good value it is depends on what you want to do and how many places you might visit in the day.
I'm also not sure it covers the Abba Museum, but someone may correct me on that. They don't take cash in the Abba Museum, only credit cards.
When you say port, is it out in Frihamnen or Gamla Stan? If it's Frihamnen you get the number 1 bus towards the city, but if your ship offers a shuttle, I would take that and it will bring you to ATMs and the Metro. I don't think there are ATMs in Frihamnen port itself, though there probably are nearby. I just don't know where.
If it's Gamla Stan you are docking in, yes you can walk everywhere.

Good to know. Thanks! What is the best way to get to the museum?
The Abba Museum? Follow the tram tracks away from the Vasa stop - it's the next stop, but a pleasant short walk - about 400-500 metres at most.
When I was there, there was a small group of children and young adults with Downs Syndrome also visiting. One of the attractions is a 'room' where you can put yourself into the 'Dancing Queen' video. Well there they all were, dancing away, knowing all the words, giving it loads. It was very humbling.
It's very much a 'fan only' thing, but I liked it.

Vasa Museum is fantastic and just a little bit up from it is the Abba Museum, which I loved, though I realise it is a personal taste.

We are going to be in Corfu on the Splendour of the Seas in October and we are going to get a taxi from the boat up to Ambelonas where they will arrange some olive oil tasting and a private lunch, sampling local produce for 35 euro including wine. A leisurely day.

The one ticket will do you.
If you will be a while in Stockholm, one of the various tourist travel cards might suit, but if you are just making the journey you described, buy a ticket in the station when you get there.
They have a sort of complicated system in place involving zones etc., but your best bet is to go to the ticket office in Central station, tell them where you want to go and buy a ticket from the office. There are cheaper ways, but really, that's the simplest. There will always be someone who speaks English and it should cost you 36 SEK for a ticket valid for an hour or so, plenty of time to get to Frihamnen.
-
Do both. :)
Red line Metro towards Ropsten as far as Karlaplan.
Get Blue bus number 1 from Vartavagen, very close to your Metro stop of Karlaplan.
That bus takes you to Frihamnen.
Make sure you have a ticket in advance. Takes about 20 minutes in total.

We're just going to take a local hop-on hop-off.
No way we can get to see everything in one day, so we'll just get an overall view and go back another time for a longer stay.

Depends really how long you'll be there and how much you intend using public transport.
-
I would expect the crew to be a little bit busy on embarkation day. A promise to adjust the room configuration one hour after sailing seems reasonable to me.

A fish and chip shop in the UK won't stay open very long if they are serving rubbish, so anywhere that's not newly opened you should be safe enough.
Personally, I prefer the places (boom boom!) that stick to just fish and chips but many do all sorts of other food too.

In think the single fare is about €7 but if you're going to be staying in Venice you should get a Travel Card for 24/48 hours or whatever.

There is of course the option of private water taxis too, but I would just get the public vaporetto (water bus).

With luggage, I wouldn't bother. Without luggage it's certainly do-able.
It would very much depend on how hot it is.
About 20-30 minutes walking, again depending on a number of factors.
-
You could order it from the bank before you go.

Lard is the secret to great Fish and Chips - hard to find these days.

I see your ship is in Dublin today. I passed it earlier.

The raising of the bridges, from a boat.
-
The raising of the bridges is pretty good, especially during White Nights. We went on a night tour to see them. Staying up all night and visiting packed cafes for breakfast at 4am was a highlight.

Email them again and tell them you want the new tracking number showing you they have re-shipped it. Tell them if they do not reply with that information within two days you are doing a chargeback.
If they do not reply, do the chargeback.
Sorry, additionally, if it is not resolved to your satisfaction, contact your cruise line/tour guide/travel agent, in case they are recommending this store to people.
