Maybe the speedboat? Other than that, it's a sleepy little town. Maybe pick a spot and girl watch?
We basically just find a restaurant to eat some lobsta.
-
If you don't like it, don't eat it. If you do like it, order more than one.;)
Read this twice, and still see no sign of an answer to the question.

Not that much as prices go, I always tip extra
Always? I would hope not. Rewarding a less than adequate staff member for less than adequate work just means he'd hand around longer. I would hope he'd be off the ship as soon as possible so that I don't get them.

Jackets are only suggested.

She is leaving right now.
Did they hoist a sail?

Isn't that one of the two ships that have the redundant power grid? What a treat.

Thanks Brides! I always knew he'd mention Pine Bluff (aka h82seaugo) in some blogs. But always thought it was just cause of the personal attacks on him.
Why do I remember someone revealing that h82seeugo was the name John used to post either here or another site?

We'll start with this post: http://johnhealdsblog.com/2011/10/06/convertible-blog/
I'm a fan of John Heald's CD schtick and I enjoy his blog and FB postings from time-to-time, but he is the brand ambassador/online representative of CCL. Many times he will put-down, make fun of, or embarrass anyone who says they are a member here, even if the comment is well-meaning.
For someone making a statement like that, he certainly has a hard time following through. There is a Cruise Critic post du jour, as well as a "your fat and I can help you" post du jour, a "attack on family members" post du jour, etc. it's like they work to a template.
-
Could be part of it but all boards for all the cruise lines put money saving tips on this forum.
Other cruise lines don't take it so personally.
-
I don't understand why anyone thinks they deserve special attention just for being a cruise critic member.
I must miss who's looking for special attention being a member here or any cruise message board for that fact.
One of the reasons CCL may cringe is that the ways to get around things or save money are oft discussed here. More money in OUR pocket and less in theirs is always a good thing for the consumer. And the less CCL chooses not to read here would not be in their best interest.
-
Other cruise lines, such as Norwegian, happen to love Cruise Critic and its members.
Seems that Carnival is the only one that despises this site. There is always the hate post of the day on John Healds blog, with those people chiming in that if they want the real scoop, people should read there.
Wrong.
There is more misinformation there, as well as always being a day late and a dollar short. Posters here are often put out to ridicule, as well. It's sad.

We went here when it was still Blackbeard Cay. Cost us $5 each to get the guy to take us over from Cable Beach. Nice beach, and had some drinks food and stuff. They may have taken over the other side of the island, which used to be part of Sandals.
I can only imagine what it's like now that they have refurbished it.

What are the chances of them changing it to allow one person in the cabin avail of the package?
Depends if they continue having difficulty selling this program.

Still cheaper to take on a $20 bottle of liquor. Still cheaper to buy Bon Voyage liquor.

The only problem I have heard about with this is that the "behind the scenes" staff don't get anything this way. Unless you found a way to sneak to deck one and hand out cash...:D
Behind the scenes people get salaries, not tips. Only those assigned to serve passengers get tips.
-
I was under the impression that all tips, even additional cash tips, are pooled? So tipping people individually doesn't matter, all the money gets pooled at the end anyway....
Carnival does not pool tips.

I was reading on cruise critic about the Victory and it says this
"Carnival Victory Gratuity
Carnival recommends $11.50 per person, per day. The guidelines allocate $5.80 to dining room services, $3.70 to cabin services and $2 per day for alternative services, which include kitchen, entertainment, guest services and other hotel staff members. The amount is automatically added to your shipboard account, but can be adjusted in either direction at the guest services desk. (Note: on Victory's cruises out of Barbados, tips must be prepaid.) A 15 percent gratuity is automatically added to bar bills. Tipping for room service at delivery is expected (and appreciated) by the service staff."
The part that says can be adjusted in either direction?
Does that mean instead of prepaying you just let the tips show up on your bill then go to guest services?
What do you say?
Is it more of an argument / battle, saying you want $150 gratuities lowered to $100?
Or is this something people do frequently and guest services just lowers it to whatever you say nicely without any hassles?
Do people really go and get the entire auto tip removed?
We've removed them ever since they took more out than for our individual servers. We tip when and who we like, the way it was done before they started doing it "for our convenience".

Some guy came into where I work today and was talking about how he is going on a princess Cruise to Alaska. We were talking blah blah blah then he said my brother and his wife are going on a Caribbean cruise on carnival. He said are you kidding my really what's $299 going to get ya. He said look Royal is $799 they have more to offer. I told him there is nothing wrong with carnival and they will have a lot more fun than you will on your stuffy cruise to Alaska. I'm super excited about our cruise on Glory Oct 18, 2014. I have been on a couple of different cruise lines they each have their pros and cons.

Will you be comparing cruise experience after your respective cruises? This way you can find out if each of you got your bang for your buck.

While paroosing the NCL board I saw that NCL is starting to cut lobster from its menu, does Carnival still have lobster? I'm going on the Splendor in 8 days (and I'm painfully excited) I would be a little bummed if there was no lobster but hopefully there will be other types of seafood...
Yup. And you can have as many as you want. Some have had marathons anywhere from 15 to 24.

Is there a list of ship's letter code somewhere? Specifically, I was wondering what the code for the Magic is (I'd like to contact Magic's Maître D for our cruise in October).
Thanks!

I have done this in the past, but can not remember how the email address is set up, to contact the Maitra'd on the Carnival Liberty?
Have Special needs to discuss and lost the email address.
Most likely limaitred@carnival.com
Edit: thanks Mary Rllen!

Interesting. Seems they were trying to tell us that bad stigma was gone. Selling ships only means they are trying to decrease berths, in an attempt to stabilize the supply and demand they seem to be on the wrong side of.
Still too bad they didn't proceed down the path of the Pinnacle class. They would have been riding high on the crest that RCCL took and continues to ride high on.

I've only read that musical instruments will be confiscated as soon as someone complains about it.
First I've read one being confiscated before that opportunity.
