Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on getaway in July and they were separate cards left in our cabin on embarkation day in an envelope with the wrist bands to go with them.
  2. was there 2 weeks ago had the 9am check in time and got there at 8:45am not much line at that time but people were waiting. they did not let us in till 9:30am and boarding was about 11:15 for us.
  3. I was on board last week and saw them. I think Black Magic is right that it was the Mojito bar.
  4. 3. Off the Getaway about 1 week ago. Could not book shows until I got on the ship. We were first on board around 11:30 and were not able to book until about 12:30pm on board. But once you could you could do it on any electronic board on the ship. The only things we could book were Burn the Floor and Million Dollar Quartet. Comedy shows and all other venues were first come first served and most people lined up 30 to 45 minutes prior. 9. We got a rental car at Port Canaveral through Enterprise which also serviced Alamo and National. However Budget and Hertz also came around to pick up people. We used it to get from Port Canaveral to Orlando and was the same rate as shuttles for me. The only problem we had was there was no signage for pick ups and had to wait a while since the shuttle driver kept on going to the Carnival terminal and ignoring ours. There were 4 ships in port.
  5. I did actually. Used the room service card and got the ham and cheese omelet plates which were very good and french toast plates. We did this 3 mornings. My wife decided to order a little of everything and overloaded the poor guy delivering. Usual order consisted of fruit, cereals, juices, milk, french toast, omelets, and croissants for 3 people. Was nice not to have to go up to the buffet or dining room a few mornings. Only the 3 hot plates get the fee but we were not charged for any of the deliveries. Did not try to order out of the book or the phone as I think it is just the room service card. Forgot about mentioning the room service as I had a mini-club balcony and it had its own perks and they kind of meshed with the priority pass. Thought we got in late - I just was comparing it to other cruises I have been on where the ships are back in port by 5 or 6am. We got a rental car and stayed an extra 2 days over at Disney to avoid the mass exodus at the airport. The only trouble we had was the Enterprise bus kept on going to the Carnival terminal and forgetting to come to ours so we waited about 60 minutes for the rental car shuttle. However we were over in Orlando by 11:00am. Rental car was same price for one day as 3 tickets for the shuttles. I did get a kick at the people who were trying to figure out how to get from Port Canaveral to Orlando when they got off the ship and had no transportation booked prior.
  6. I just called the customer service number and it was the $209 per person. Did have to wait on infernal hold but they added it and then I paid online.
  7. Just got off the Getaway last week and had Vibe passes I bought through the NCL phone number. Just wanted to let everyone one know they are still given to you as a separate card with wrist bands. They left them in an envelope in our cabin and were there on the first day when we got in the room. Getaway vibe was huge taking up the old sun deck area and wrapping around to the front of the ship on the port side with only the front starboard side blocked off for Haven. Plenty of deck chairs and just the 2 hot tubs. Mostly empty the week we were on board with the only draw back was one of the days at sea we had a lot of wind blowing up there causing them to have no umbrellas and some of the chairs tied down. Otherwise it was a nice escape from the crowded decks and bars and a great look out point to the front of the ship.
  8. Was looking for more information on Priority Pass prior to my cruise and I thought I would pass on some info after doing it. We left out of Port Canaveral on July 23 and had a 9am check in time which was when we got in line. They finally got 2 people down in front of the lines waiting to check covid information at 9:30. That's right 2 people. When we got in the terminal which there was a line for Priority Pass very easily seen and an area roped off for Priority Boarding passengers once we got our key cards. When they let us on the ship. It went Haven, Special Needs, Latitudes, and then Priority Pass after which they called group 1. We got on board quickly had no line at any of the desks or buffet. When we got in the Cabin we had letters with all our information about Tendering the next day at Great Stirrup Cay. We met at a certain time at the Comedy Club and were escorted to the priority elevators and down to the Tender and were on the first one to the island with Haven guests. There was no need to get the tender pass. Many were gone within the first hour of being on the ship. My only gripe was would have liked an escort back to the ship from the island and got the skip the long line like the Haven guests did but alas we did not. Canapes were delivered the second day as promise and we took one look and went yuck as we don't eat the fancy stuff like that. Not that I don't like Caviar and finer things its just they were not to my taste. Finally getting off the ship was a little disjointed. Did not help we arrived late. We were told to meet at Syd Normans where a crew member came and got the people disembarking with luggage and the pass first, but forgot to take those who had the luggage taken off first. They did finally come back and get us and instead of the main line we were taken down the crew elevator to the gangway directly and there we merged with the rest of the standard walk off luggage people. The night before we put out our luggage with the priority tags we were given and it was in a special area of the hall with customs. We avoided the long line at customs by having a porter take us to an express lane for the porters. Off the ship in about 30 mins. Would I do it again most likely yes if we are in a Tender port and definitely it saved a lot of headache when getting off the ship. Usually that is the part I hate the most with people pushing and shoving as lines were already formed around the ship before arrival. I used Faster to the Fun in the past with Carnival and this is about the same. Just depends on your tolerance to stand in line with everybody else or pay to bypass the worse of the lines.
  9. Was on the same cruise as well. My teen was not impressed with Entourage nor I when I met the staff and went and did his own thing. The food at Cagneys we had was great my wife got a filet mignon and I got the ribeye which was huge. Buffet was blah as usual and the Dining Rooms were hit or miss with some very good dishes and others not so great. Someone told me the kids club was closed and it was nice to see the young kids set down on the floor by the bar in the Casino and left to color every night while Mommy and Daddy went to gamble. Thank god I had Vibe so I could get away from everyone because I had no intention of trying to find a seat at the pool area. One saving grace was we hit all the ports and the music was outstanding from the dining room, to the million dollar quartet group, and the Syd Norman band. Despite the hiccups we did have a good time however next time I do NCL I have decided to pay full price for Haven.
  10. Got my bid approved this morning (Tuesday) for our Saturday sail on the Getaway. Went from a balcony on deck 9 to club balcony on deck 14. I wanted the bigger bathroom and thought the laundry service would be a nice perk. Could care less about the food and wine. Bid $10 over the minimum of $50 and ended up paying $120. Got Vibe passes and Priority Pass so I am good to go with my Haven-Lite.
  11. Got mine for the 23rd of this month on the Getaway. Called in and they added it and had to go online and pay for it. Now any clue how we get the passes once on board?
