  1. Tonight on the Wind Surf was the Crew Show, I honestly do not think I have enjoyed a crew show on a ship better. It was truly one of the funniest and most talented group I have ever seen. Then I added in our very different pillow candy this evening. One thing nice on Windstar is you still have cabin steward service your stateroom twice a day and evening turn down.
  2. Very good dinner this evening, as well as it was a packed dining room. Tom and I both ordered the Caesar Salad, me with Anchovies and none for Tom. Then we shared Calamari. Then we both had the Osso Bucco except Tom had them hold the Polenta and got baked Potato. Then Tom had Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate sauce and I had the Blueberry Apple Cobbler. Everything was excellent!! Tomorrow night is the Deck BBQ so all the Restaurants will be closed .
  3. It’s that time of night… What’s for Dinner? What would you order. We are in the Amphora Dining Room.
  4. Had lunch this afternoon at the Veranda restaurant, nice chat with the Captain Coll Ryan we discovered we definitely sailed with him several times we confirmed it with specific things that happen on those Holland America sailings on The older Statendam and the Veendam, those ships are no longer part of the fleet. I ate the buffet and Tom ordered a Meat Lovers pizza. The views from the ship have been stunning, Captain has Ben slowly turning the ship so our dining view has been amazing.
  5. That is act what Tom and I discussed this morning. Our cabin is extremely quiet, we normally wake coming into port from noise and vibrations, this was so quiet and smooth. We are close to the bow and forward elevator and the ride is smoother than most large ships. It is definitely quiet.
  6. Good morning from Les Saintes Guadeloupe, it’s a very muggy humid overcast day so we may just stay on board the ship. We had not planned a tour today and the tender ride in is a bit longer than most. There are no sea days on this itinerary and we love sea days. we are sitting near the Yacht Club but closer to the front desk on port side. We had breakfast up at the Veranda I like having made to order eggs every morning Tom had pancakes this morning and said they were good, he also really likes their bacon. He is now sipping on hot chocolate and I have an iced sugar free vanilla cappuccino with almond milk. I like they have the extra some of us prefer. I am amazed at all the plant based Vegan options they also have. For the Wind Surf probably being the oldest ship we have sailed on she really is in great shape. She is going through an extensive Dry Dock in November. The stateroom do not feel small and have far more space and drawers than any of the new ships . Closet space and number of hangers are plentiful. I had thought from pictures before we sailed that the bathroom would feel small but it too is actually better than some of our recent cruises on new ships. We are enjoying the much smaller ship and the sailing yacht feel. The last picture is the Amphora Dining Room.
  7. Hi Roy, yes most definitely. They love passengers stopping by.
  8. Tonight Tom ordered the Cesar Salad, the Sirloin Steak with Baked Potato and Candice cream and chocolate sauce. I had the French Onion Soup, the Seared Tuna which was very good, and the chocolate Cremeux. Everything was very good. When we got back to our cabin besides the Chicopee get every single night there was a little turtle made out of shells as a gift.
  9. Cherie, The food taste has been very good, I have to admit over all better than HAL for most of the items. The one thing HAL has better is Explorations Coffee Bar and coffee in the main dining room. The coffee in the main d r here and breakfast is not good at all real oily acidity, they have a coffee bar like Explorations called Yacht Club but it is kind of hit or miss and the coffee is just slightly better than the other venues. But they do have good bakery items there. as for missing a balcony, I was concerned we would but actually not at all. No cabins even the few big suites have no balcony. There are plenty of outside deck space areas. The one thing Tom and I talked about over dinner was how much bigger the ship feels on the inside. We watched numerous YouTube videos before the cruise and none do this ship justice. It feels a lot bigger. And Amphora Main Dining room is extremely big and actually quite elegant. There are two sides to the main Dining Room.
  10. It’s almost that time of night for What’s for Dinner? What would you order? We will be heading upstairs to dinner in about 30 minutes.
  11. Had our picture taken out on the Bow Sprit while sailing out of St Lucia also Pics of sail away raising the sails video with music was too long to upload.
  12. We just got back on the ship from the Beaxh BBQ party. Excellent great selection of food, they had a nice set up for the 300 passengers with live music playing steel drum. Here are a few of the pictures IMG_5609.mov
  13. Good Morning from near Pigeon Island St Lucia where we will have our Beach BBQ Day. sorry for not posting since yesterday morning. I lost internet and could not get signed back on till this morning. Not sure if it was me or the Starlink or both. It is a bit cloudy and overcast but hopefully will blow over. I do have lots of pictures to post. Yesterday went on a Dolphin and Whale excursion. We saw so many Sperm Whales with babies and hundreds of Dolphins, several kinds of dolphins but none were bottle nose but it was amazing We got back from the excursion at 4 just in time to see James Deering give a talk about Wines and production. It was extremely educational and I should have taken notes. I know I have learned a lot from him on the past especially about Sake. Last night we ate at Candles which is the out side Dining venue at night but day time called Veranda where we have breakfast and lunch and where I am sitting right now for breakfast. Dinner last night was really good. Tom who is the picky eater finally tried Veal and loved it and wants to come back to order it. We both had the very large Cesar Salad then he had the 8 oz Filet and I had the bone in Veal Chop that yes was amazing then I had the side of cheese creamy mushrooms Tom had a baked potato. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the dessert menu. Hopefully we can ply What’s for Dinner tonight. IMG_5554.mov IMG_5558.mov
  14. Terry, it has been but not quite the WOW we were expecting. Like all cruise lines they too have cut back is my understanding but I would say it is more like Holland America use to be. Last night both our Scallops and Tom’s Beef Wellington were excellent. I can say the Scallops were better than any I have had in many years.
  15. Good Morning from Wind Surf, we are in Dominica today , we are doing a Dolphin and Whale Watch excursion but not till 1:00 pm so we did go have breakfast in the Veranda Restaurant and now relaxing in the Yacht Club which is where the coffee bar is.
  16. Ok here is what we had… I had the Brie and pear Salad, and Lobster Bisque, then I also had the Scallops, I interestingly enough there was barely a taste of curry also the risotto did not have the coconut taste I was expecting more of a nutty risotto taste. I had mentioned to James my concern and he said not to worry about the curry taste. He knows what I like and he has never steered me wrong lol. It was a very good choice. Then I had the Chocolate Soufflé Tom had the Cesar Salad and the Beef Wellington and Vanilla Ice Cream.
  17. Tonight before dinner was the Captain’s Toast, the Captain introduced all the Officers. The Captain is very entertaining and is a past Captain on Holland America by the name of Colm Ryan, he is Irish but he and his wife and caught make their home in Nova Scotia. I forget what years he was at HAL definitely during the time we have sailed HAL.
  18. It’s that time of night to play…”What’s for Dinner” Nice menu this evening with some good choices. I will surprise those that know me well. So let me know what you would order, I will have pictures later of what we had.
  19. Here are pictures of Marina Deck. I don’t think it is being as much as it could. While I was in the Spa my husband said two people swam out to that trampoline looking thing. When we went down there there was no one out there.
  20. Lunch at the Veranda, I did buffet so I could have a bit of salad and fish. Tom ordered a burger. After this we are going to take the tenders into Nevis. I had a great massage and booked a facial and massage for the last day. This evening is the Captain’s Toast. @HaveDogWillTravel I will go get pictures now of the water sport landing and will post later.
  21. Thought you would like to see some pictures of the Daily Program this is yesterday’s and todays and some more pictures around the ship. Sorry I keep getting an error for yesterday’s front page of the Daily program.
  22. Thanks for the great web cam pics of our sail away.
  23. Enjoyed breakfast at the Veranda. Floating out near us is Club Med 2 which was originally the sister ship to Wind Surf.
