We have this cabin booked for February, well 4 cabins down, my question for you is how early do you hear the noise from the loungers? I have been worried about this for months, but we actually get up pretty early.
That probably won't be known until there is warmer weather.

Mahalo!
I'm still working on my to do list and not looking forward to Monday p.m. flight from LAX to LHR but hope I can get some sleep. I've been looking forward to sailing on a new ship for years and Southampton is on my bucket list.
Will be meeting Mom in Fort Lauderdale on Nov. 8 for two weeks on the Eurodam for a different kind of (B2B) cruise.

I'm on until October 10. Anything in particular you want to see?

Thank you for posting. Mom and I are boarding Noordam in Vancouver on Tuesday for 11 days to Honolulu.

Mom and I enjoyed dinner there twice while cruising in June/July. She also had lunch there a couple of times and really enjoyed it (comp at lunch). Selecting all the courses at dinner was too much food for me so the second time I asked for a selection of sushi/sashimi chosen by the chef. Both times I had the chocolate fortune cookie for dessert. I think the menu has pretty detailed descriptions of each choice so you should find items that suit your taste.
I enjoyed Steak 954 at the W Fort Lauderdale on Thanksgiving last year.

Didn't work for me since cruising solo wasn't a choice

Welcome home and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Very informative reading.
I sailed on the Dawn for my birthday in April. Chose the cruise for the date and New Orleans to Boston itinerary. New carpet in the halls was installed during that time. Biggest plus (vs. HAL) for me was the sitting inside for muster drill and the wine bottle discount with the beverage package.
Started cruising with Mom seven years after Dad died and now I'm hooked so I cruise solo more than I cruise with her. I think she has only cruised solo once since widowed. Since she lives in Hawaii, it is a long flight to get anywhere to go on a cruise.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review. I didn't do any of the excursions but you helped me feel like I did!

I always take my kindle just in case but I didn't need it because there was enough turnover on the shared shelf. I visited at least once a day to separate the non-English language books and on the final day they were finally outnumbered by an overflowing English shelf.

postponed September 2015 cruise on Prinsendam to September 6, 2016 14 Night Bourgundian Explorer. Other future HAL cruises: Eurodam June 25 - 24 night Fjords/Highlands & Baltic Adventure and Eurodam November 8 - 14 night Western/Eastern Caribbean and you can add me to the April 2 - 30 day on the Westerdam. Mom and I have also booked the Koningsdam for Oct 24, 2016 Passage to America

I'm here to board the Island Princess. Was awake early to watch three of them arrive. Now I'm looking out my hotel window watching guys taking their shirts off and putting on sunscreen getting ready to play beach volleyball

So breezy today I had to hold down my top while walking back from Total Wine to hotel. Two emails said not to show up to Veendam until 3. Glad I tuned in to webcam this am to see it arrive. Looking forward to 14 day cruise with mom

Mahalo! Mom is very excited to make use of her 4 star free laundry. She lives in HI and I'm in sunny CA but we're going to enjoy nice warm cruising weather. I told her about the webcams and she watched me depart on the Zuiderdam in November.

On the Star last month the cheese plate on the dessert menu was Brie and Gouda. With dried fruit, nuts, crackers.

Capri is anytime but many reservations have made for very long lines to get a beeper to wait to be seated (the first two nights anyway). We were told thus is unusual. Portofino has early dinner at 5:30 and opens to anytime at 7:45 if the 5:30 diners are done being served.

I'm waiting to disembark now. Small screening room. All movies are shown next day on TV. I think they showed one in Queens Lounge

A very nice lady gave me a priority boarding pass so I am sitting on my veranda #6102 with my shoes off and my feet up. Will be here for sail away.

It is my understanding that each adult may bring ONE bottle at no charge assuming it is to be consumed in the cabin. Any other bottles are subject to the corkage fee no matter where they are consumed. As a sometimes solo cruiser I'd love to bring TWO bottles if I were paying the solo supplement but I haven't seen any that allow two per cabin as the rule.

Thanks! Finally raining in California so time to get away to nice weather and some tasty tropical cocktails. My first time to FLL and all the ports are new to me too.
