  1. So glad everything went off with out a hitch for you. Ours was fantastic as well everything went absolutely perfect from our pre-wedding dinner at the hotel ( like you we did this to have some more time with family.) The ceremony went just as planned only slight hiccup was that during the sand ceremony they had his sand vessel in front of me and mine in front of him. we switched in quick and everyone laughed.

So FYI this was the only bad thing to happen but kind of a big deal. It seems that they sent our wedding license back to the courthouse regular mail not certified and of course....... LOST IN THE MAIL.... no one knows were it is. so we need to get it reissued, we resign then send to officiate who signs it with the date of 9-28 then they resend to courthouse. Of couse can't change my name or anything till this all gets done.

  2. We're doing one of those picture frames that the guests sign the matte. I bought some archival ink pens for them to use. We'll put one of our wedding pics in it and put it up when we get home.

    Sarah.....just 2 weeks! OMG!

I know can you believe it. No words to describe how excited I am. lol were did the last year go??? For all you brides to be... trust me it seems a long way away but man the time can fly by.:D

Vasoxfann... I wish you the best , Congrats and have the time of your life.....I know I will.

  3. We are doing a message in a bottle for our guests. We took small pieces of paper and twine and asked they they leave us messages then wrap them in twine and drop in a large bottle. on our 1 year anniversary we plan to break the bottle and read all the messages.

  4. Just some FYI info. Are you a resident of Florida? I know when we got our license last week there is a 3 day waiting period before it is valid. Not sure if that is for residents only or not. if you can stop by an office it literally only took 20 minutes to get the actual license. Since Key west is part of Florida you can get a license from any county and it is good anywhere in Florida. Best bet is to call any county office and talk to them.

  5. I am going to try to add a pic of how we want our cake. we to are doing a ribbon and adding some silver beading and flowers although our cake will have a topper not the flowers on top.

Beautiful cake Sarah! We are so close now!

We just received our license. It's really real now :eek::eek:

    Vasoxfan,

So funny how are things all seem to line up. We also got our license done this morning. Funny how just looking at that piece of paper makes it so much more real. I think these next couple of weeks are going to fly by. or at least I hope.

I am a bit nervous about the photography packages..... I have seem so many people talk about the big upsell and it seems the prices are all over the place. To be honest we would really just like to have a DVD with the images on it released so we could do whatever we wanted with it. I wonder what the charge would be for just that???

Really that is the only thing I am worried about. The rest I am just going to go with the flow and be happy about marrying my best friend.

  6. Congrats on booking your wedding. The first thing I can tell you is that there is no hurry with any of your forms. all that stuff is not due until 4 weeks before wedding so lots of time to get it all together. From my experience sometimes you need to be pro active with the wedding department. After sending us the info that you just got we waited and never got a call so we called the wedding department with our questions. As it turns out you will be dealing with the wedding department agent for all your things up until your sail date. If you have any questions just call the number and they will answer any questions you have.

What usually happens is...you are soooo excited to get started and the forms come and you go over them with a fine tooth comb analyzing ever piece of information. you start filling it all out only to discover that you have 9 months till you need to turn any of it in. Start with the things that need to be completed first. like do you want favors?? Do you want your own cake topper?? What are your colors going to be?? Invitations and save the dates. And get those out early because If the wedding is out of town or you plan on having sailing guest they will need plenty of time to plan their trip too.

Pace yourself and don't rush it and you should have no troubles. We are 28 days from our wedding on the Conquest and spreading out all the planning has helped the time fly by this past year for us. Do a little bit every week or so and you won't run into the problem of getting everything set and then nothing to do for 6 months which then will drag on like forever.

    Congrats and enjoy.

  7. Well We are 30 days from the wedding. Everything is set, Final guest list turned in and paid, all other forms submitted. We go pick up are rings tomorrow from the jeweler. Only thing left is the marriage license and to pack. I feel like it is going to be a long 30 days.

  8. I can not believe we are 36 days away. We turned in our final guest list on Thursday. Ended up with 32 guest and of that 12 are sailing. It totally feels like the home stretch now. everything is turned in. Just waiting now for the final call from them to make sure everything is scheduled. Can not believe how fast the time has flown in the year that we have been planning this.

I am looking forward to your tour review since I am not able to do one.

I am going to try to add a pic of how we want our cake. we to are doing a ribbon and adding some silver beading and flowers although our cake will have a topper not the flowers on top.

  9. I know this sounds lame, but we're probably just going to get one of the current "Now that's what I call music" CDs from WalMart and have them play that.

Other than having "All of me" played for our first dance, which we'll probably have FH's son burn to a CD for us, we couldn't care less what's playing in the background.

So funny Vaso... not only are our weddings on the same day but we are also having " All Of Me" as our first dance.

  10. Before you book the cruise make sure you call carnival weddings first and go over with them the types of ceremonies you can have. There are several different options with different reception durations, some are sit down lunches and some are just 1 or 1 1/2 hour hors d'eouvers and open Bar ( yes I spelled that wrong) . also you can do a embarkation wedding or destination wedding. anyway lots of options as you can see. after you pick what type of wedding, you will then need to see if the cruise you want has wedding times available. Only a certain number of wedding can take place on a boat on a single day. after you determine if the cruise is available to have you wedding. You then book the cruise, then call back the wedding department and actually book the wedding.

Yes I probably made that seem complicated but it really isn't that bad. Best thing I can tell you is if you like to have a lot of control over your wedding and a lot of must haves and ideas then a cruise wedding may not be right for you but If you are willing to let go and let others do most of the work, and be willing to just go with the flow then it is a fantastic idea.

    Good luck.

  11. I know!!!! I'm going crazy trying to track down stragglers for their ID #s

Thank you for your response. I keep trying to picture how and where it will be set up. I'm taking a tour later this month, so I guess I'll just ask then.

FH's teenage children will be included in the sand ceremony, so I want to at least give them an idea of how it will be set up

Yeah we are in the same boat at the moment. We have all our Guest RSVP's and they have all gotten there hotel reservations, But now we need to get the ID #'s for the final list to turn in. Most are pretty quick with reply's but some are being stragglers too.

I hoper the tour goes well. We are not going to be able to do one since we are 10 hours from the port and just don't have that kind of time to make another trip there before the wedding.

I think it is very sweet to include the kids in the ceremony. It lets them know how big a part of this whole thing they are.

Let us all know how the tour goes and if you learn any last minute secrets.

  12. I can not believe we are only 47 days away....I read someplace that they had the sand ceremony setup there with the officiate during the ceremony. From everything I read you should be able to give the sand to the coordinator and they will get the table all setup for you...... At least that is what I'm going with.

  13. Hey SarahOhara, I'm in the same boat! Working full time and full time grad school. I don't even have time to do my laundry let alone plan a wedding! Cruise wedding was the perfect option for me!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Just turned in my last Final paper for this semester.....Doing Independent Study this next semester so I can go on the wedding cruise with no worries about school.

I see your wedding is in 2015, trust me the time flies by.

  14. The best advice I can give from my experience so far is this. A cruise ship wedding is a wonderful option but only for certain couples. If you are a control freak who has always had a fantasy of your perfect wedding and planning every little detail, this adventure is not for you. But if you are willing to make a few key choices and then just let go and let Carnival do their magic this is perfect.

I am currently in Graduate School and working a full time job so spending months planning a wedding just wasn't in the cards for me and so far it has been very easy to get everything ready. just need to trust the professionals.

Hardest part is just getting all your RSVP back a month before hand with the info that carnival request. We have about 4 procrastinator we are waiting on. Final list is due to Carnival in 2 weeks.

  15. We also booked the Villa and These are good questions. I was wondering about the soft drinks myself. I do know that you can not ask for a certain villa until embarkation day at the guest services desk. We are trying to get D. D and E are farthest from the crowds and I believe those are the 2 that are handicap accessible.

  16. got an OBC of $199.00 since we already paid in full. Is there a way to check my OBC on the carnival website to be sure I have it. I can see that they dropped the price but I don't see OBC listed any were. Does it take a day or so to show up??
