  1. We are taking a cruise with my son and his family with five children ages 7 months, 3 , 6, 11&13. On NCL Gem in July. They’ve traveled on airplanes, stayed at resorts etc and are well behaved. While we will help with the babies, the older kids are more than likely be in kids programs. I’m most concerted with the 3 year old who is non verbal autistic. He’s good with loud noises but embarkation / debarkation may weird him out. Hopefully special needs desk can help him .

Any suggestions on cruising with a large family.

  2. Hello,

I am wondering it the main pool on the Gem has walk down stairs or just the ladder? My husband in mobilty impaired and finds it easier to walk into the pool.

Also, is there one or two pools?

    thanks

  3. I am traveling on the Gem this summer with my hubby , son and his family ( wife and 5 kids). We booked the Watson Hotel for our pre cruise overnight stay. Has oneone stayed here prior to their cruise?

This is our first time cruising with kiddos, I am sure it will be an experience. They are very excited to be going on a cruise. This will be my son's first cruise. Luckily we booked a cabin close to them, but no too close, lol.

  4. So a couple on a cruise would pay roughly $ 1400 for drinks? I get it as a " free" perk but if that stopped I'd do a la cart. That's insane unless they throw in bottled water specialty coffee and no price cap on mixed drinks. Still would be stretching it.

  5. I had read a review a few weeks ago.. the person mentioned some "construction" happening in the casino with glass partitions?.. seemed like it was constructing a separate smoking area. Any truth to this?.. I don't quite understand why NCL wouldn't work on resolving the smoking concern.

  6. Got one as well from Twin Rivers this week. What doesn't make sense is that I have been there once in two years. I do play heavily at a neighboring casino, and just received a NCL voucher, plus qualify for 2 cruises a year from them (saved me $2400 on my next cruise). So I thought maybe NCL shared their list with Twin Rivers? Not sure, but it does not make sense. The casino I go to only gives them out to certain level players. The Twin River one seems to go to everyone. The mailer even says VIP, and I am definitely not a VIP at Twin Rivers. Just odd.

I play a lot a Foxwoods and never got a voucher from them, only twin river. I visit twin river maybe twice a year.

  7. I just sailed 7/14 and while waiting to embark I noted there was a lot of children. ( I'm a teacher, I love them but in the summer I'd like an adult time, lol) once onboard I hardly noticed them except one pool day as they jumped in the pool over and ever. But other than that I hardly saw them around the ship.
