LrgPizza, what a terrific suggestion!
-
Vibe is a quiet retreat targeted at regular passengers who don't mind paying to avoid the crowds at the main pool and sundeck areas.
If you want "fun," you're probably better off at the main pool deck. In addition to the crowds, there's live music in the afternoons. There's also activities and games on sea days.
Haven guests do NOT automatically get Vibe passes. But I wouldn't think they should. They have Haven, after all!
Personally, I would cry, if I missed buying the last precious Vibe pass because someone who also has Haven access snatched it up!
-
I imagine that it's akin to the Vibe - only so many places, and the desire to provide quality service to those who get a place. Unfortunately, they're victims of their own success. As someone who's been to the Vibe, I have to say that I agree with the limited sales.
-
The family mini-suites have bathtubs. That might be an advantage with a little one.

Those are some of the clearest pictures yet of the aft balconies. I say those balconies are easily the same depth per deck as the Away ships. Put the deposit down today for our favorite deck 9 aft PH for this coming January. Can't wait!
Tarps14, I agree - it's exciting to see, in hi-res, how my aft-facing balcony is coming together nicely!
I see you're on the same Escape sailing as I am in January. I'll raise a glass to you from over my deck 11 railing at sailaway! Have you joined the roll call?

I'm guessing you are referring to photos of the actual build - which I have not seen all on one place.
But, in March this link appeared - it is all of the artist renderings for the Escape, in one place!

Hmmm... It seems that that link takes me to a page with a rather protracted comment written in heavy Legalese; nothing about Norwegian Escape.

I have been following and thoroughly enjoying the photos of the escape in its various stages of construction. As such, of course, I have been dependent on the good and talented folks who posted those shots.
I've been to the Webcam page of www.meyerwerft.de. Unfortunately, the photos there are limited in number and especially, in quality.
Is there a site to which I can connect to find current and recent high resolution pictures?
-
Potential; yes. But perhaps not NCL's style, at least not every day. The Neon Glow/White, 80s- and 70s-themed parties under the stars are enormously popular.
-
Ok I know there are some that could care less to watch a movie under the starts. But I am not one of them..nor is my husband. When we were on the Princess we really enjoyed this option in the day while lounging at the pool and in the evening when relaxing on deck.
On the Escape it looks as though there will be this option. At least that is what I think I am seeing. Does anyone know if there is a large screen that will play movies in the day or night?
CUontheC: There is definitely a huge screen on the aft Spice H2O deck, and they definitely play movies there. If the Getaway was any example, there will be something there in the afternoons. They might show films at night, but many nights, Spice H2O is the site of various parties. Then, the screen is dedicated to those themes.
There were movies shown on the big screen in the Atrium, too. They were woven around live shows and games there.

Another question:
Does anyone have any input on what might be better the Spice H20 or getting a pass to the Vibe beach club.
I was interested in a kids-free space for my last cruise, on the Getaway. I did the Vibe Beach Club, and had a wonderful experience. However, the Escape's Spice H20 is larger than the Getaway's, and is 100% kids-free all day long. (On the Getaway/Breakaway, Spice H20 is theoretically adults-only, but only during the day, which made it hard to police.) With its own bar, hot tubs, cool-yourself-off waterfall and adults-only policy, you might just get everything you want without having the expense of a Vibe pass or having to battle to get one when you board the ship. Now, that's the way to relax!

I am happy to see that I am not the only person who pours over each picture as it's posted, comparing balconies and overhangs and such. The latest images confirmed my choice to switch from deck 13 to 11 (aft-facing).
I am grateful to everyone who provides these terrific images. Thank you!

I changed my deck 13 aft-facing balcony for one on deck 11. There's probably no big difference in balcony size. But I'll be a bit closer to port side.
-
I'm guessing that you're in 11312?
I think it's just the way that the deckplans are drawn. ...
I know that it's impossible to be definitive. But what would be your best guess, based on the latest photos:
Would you agree that the aft-facing balconies on deck 11 appear to be bigger than those on deck 13? Or is that just an illusion? 11 looks deeper, but perhaps that may be because the doors are on already on deck 13 and might not be on 11. Anyone with eagle eyes and a good guess?

Hey folks, how are we all?
quick question for those in the know, on the getaway they had the magic show, on the epic they had the circus, on the breakaway i believe they had a similar themed show, is there likely to be one on the Escape?
We are due to cruise her in December 2016, TOO long to wait. :)
Thanks in advance for any help.
Charlotte&Lloyd,
It looks like the venue will be "The Supper Club" and the dinner show will be "Dear John Hughes".

Freestyle Thanks for the update. It is looking like Escape will be finished on time. She is looking good. :D
Looking good, and even better than expected - not to open that can of worms, but the aft-facing B1s are looking bigger than previously anticipated!
I just wish that there would be high-res large images available for my scrapbook!
-
The aft balconies are still larger than those on the sides, as far as I can tell. And you can't beat the view.
-
Amen! She's not even complete yet but some are already moaning that their balconies won't be big enough! Good grief! Just get me on the ship!:D
Now, if I were really moaning, you would know it. But that's usually from having eaten too much, or other, less publicly-describable cause! ;)
I simply used the word "concerned", and only because of my own expectations. Like everyone here, I am watching the build progress with joy and awe and anticipation. In the absence of hard details, I'm trying to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, literally and figuratively. One thing I am anticipating, aside from the overall amazing cruise ahead, is that large aft-facing balcony I have already enjoyed elsewhere. Given that, and the fact that it was described to me as such by NCL personnel, I am not being unreasonable nor am I moaning by gently expressing surprise or concern. It'll be what it'll be; it's all good.
Now, to be completely politically incorrect, if the person on the aft-facing balcony next to mine, regardless of its size, is gorgeous and friendly, you'll hear moaning! :p
These appear to be aft balconies, which are far narrower than the ones on the Breakaway/Getaway. I have an H6 aft penthouse for my cruise in November, so I'm very concerned about this :(
I am also concerned, having booked an aft-facing balcony after enjoying one on the Getaway. I am told that except for Deck 9 which is said to be 35 sq. ft, the upper ones are supposed to be 77 sq. ft. or more. The photos tell me something else. -
I particularly like the one of the balcony cabins/deck with no dividers. It reminds me of an all-metal motel, but way nicer!
-
I can see my cabin!!! It exists now!
Mine is still in pieces on the floor. But it will go in that large empty space in the back, a few decks up from the Waterfront!

The notion that they're going to charge for something without adding value makes no sense. There's been added value all along: FREE room service. They've been bringing you your breakfast, lunch, midnight snacks to you, large feast or bagel & coffee, on your whim, without you having to pony up one red cent. Can't see the forest for the trees? Talk about fear of losing one's entitlement.

One has to pay $25 for the better beach towel than the free basic one that comes with the room.
One also has to pay about $5-10 (whatever is the cost) of ice cream dessert in O'Sheenan's, a complimentary food venue. Where you also pay for drinks like beer not cover by the fare. You also pay for drinks that not include in the fare in buffet and MDR, too.
You pay about $4 for fresh sqeeze juice in the buffet. Oh, there free orange flavored water but its not same thing.
You already pay $39-40 for show at Cirque and Magic Show, where both should be offered free without the cover charge meal. Snd if you're a suite you pretty much have to tip the concierge for reserving you seats at the free shows anyway.
You have to take about X number of cruises (which means you have to had least paid the port fees and taxes) as Latidudes member to get priority tendering anyway.
I could go on and on about all the actual hidden fees no one seems to be complaining that be going on under O'Sheenan for a while but should. And these new charges are a surprise? No its not if you actually been paying attention - took an equivalent of heavy dumbbell to the face to make all of you realize how really extensive and insidious the nickel and diming has been. I've been very aware of nickel and diming, its call "I don't have to pay for the majority of the extras /fall for the ploy to enjoy my vacation.". Some of you should had open your eyes a long time if this is effecting you now since its been going on for like years.

Unfortunately, the extra fees to which you're referring are a part of shipboard life. But I think you may be unclear on a couple of things.
For example: pay $25 for an upgraded beach towel? You pay $25 if you LOSE your beach towel, or if you buy an extra-plush souvenir towel from the gift store.
If you paid extra for ice cream at O'Sheehan's (where you pay for your beer because it's a bar), I suppose ice cream wasn't on that day's freebie menu, you order something that's off-menu and they got it for you from a specialty shop such as Carlo's Bake Shop. Of course you'll pay extra, just as you would if you walked up to Carlo's and ordered it directly. Remember - O'Sheehan's is a pub first and complimentary dining second.
As for Cirque or the Illusionarium, these are dinner shows. They're designed as such, from table reservations to theatrical participation of the Maitre D' and servers. They can't modify the style of entertainment because you want to save a few bucks.

Looks like they'll be filling the pools, plugging in the disco lights and makin' margaritas pretty soon!
