We are just off the Apex. We had early assigned at 5.30pm. I was expecting early to be 6pm and in truth we arrived  nearer 6pm most nights.  We could have gone to any restaurant at anytime if we had wanted. We stuck to our assigned table due to dietary restrictions and breezed by the queues each night of those people on anytime. There is a 2 line system - one for assigned and one for anytime. This is different from our last 2 Edge class cruises.

Had the same experience on the Ascent. Most people don't even know about the 2 line system.

We were actually accused of trying to cut the line, with one woman blocking the entrance with her husband, while the staff was waving people in who had reservations around the check in station.

    Cheers

  2. Precisely why we always ask to have it removed from our cabin along with the contents of the mini bar when meet our steward. It is of little value to us. Too old to drink cheap bubbly or wine for that matter

    cheers

  3. We also have done this itinerary a few times.....love it

Will be on the Eclipse repo in October, 10 nights Boston to Fort Lauderdale via the ABC Islands.

    What's not to like?

Unfortunately  Celebrity has shifted to much shorter sailings in the Caribbean.

We tend to lean towards the longer cruises with more sea days

Same furniture on S cabins when Edge came out.

I beg to differ, Same furniture??

Those chairs on E class IV rooms are very uncomfortable. I've sailed on all S class ships, multiple times, and never experienced this

And yes Ive recently sailed on the Ascent. Beautiful ship, just not a fan of the infamous IV cabins

I will not for your DH that there are far more beers to choose from in the Premium package than in the basic package. What convinced me to upgrade (in addition to better whisky choices) was that DogFish 60 Minute (which is a staple at home since I live close to the brewery) was $12 on menus I saw. I'm not saying I want DF 60 in Alaska, but I want that as an option, for sure!

Dogfish 90 is mostly available, and is on the premium pkg.

It's not a Napa wine, but rather, Fairfield about 18 miles away.  It's owned by the Caymus folks, i.e. Chuck Wagner.  It's not the same as Caymus, but it's an excellent wine, particularly at this $16 price point.  Not sure how much more clarification you need.

at I believe just over $17 per bottle

    cheers

If there were expensive wine offerings we wouldn’t have this thread.  If you are tired of reading just unsubscribe.  I think discussing wine onboard is very relevant.

    Yes

There are some very nice expensive wine offerings on board ( Decoy is not one of them)

YOU choose not to buy them

Discussing what one buys at the store,is totally irrelevant. Op, was given bad info on availability on the Eclipse. It has been sorted out.

Not sure why you have to interject if you don't agree with my opinion.

Why not complain about the HH wine offerings??

I'll have a glass of wine

    RED or WHITE ?

Red please, what do you have?

    RED or WHITE

But i have the premium package???

    .......

    Thank you , I'll pass

This title needs to be revised as pages back he said he saw the Food and Beverage manager who rectified the situation. All this other stuff is totally irrelevant to the situation in the title So, Decoy IS covered on Eclipse.

    SHE may disagree

But I do agree, enough said about the cheap wine offerings on board!

I think everyone has different tastes. I've not done S class (one i had was cancelled) but I've done M and E - I won't be doing another M class one.

I agree, did one M class, on the connie, worst cruise I've ever had....almost gave up on Celebrity.

It was the last time we ate in the MDR on a cruise .Not a fan of E class as well. Gota have a real balcony, so it's primarily S class for us.

I’m wondering if it makes sense to just show up at the earliest dining time (which I want) in the dining room I want and just tell them what I am looking for.

Yes it does. On the first night choose your dining room, and speak with the Maitre d and let them know you prefer early dining and you will have the same table and staff nightly. We did this on the Ascent , eating in Tuscan. When they opened up for dinner, they waved those with early reservations around the line( basically a 2 line system ) those who just showed up had to wait to be seated. We are early eaters so this worked well for us. It was not very well explained to those waiting in line, as they didn't like standing there, while people could actually bypass the line

  12. Just because one ship reportedly waited for 5-6 hours.....which quite frankly I find somewhat unbelievable, this can not be the norm. These ships run on such a tight schedule there is very little wiggle room for departures/arrivals. Celebrity doesn't care if it raining, or if there is snow in the north or fires in Canada.  This is every day stuff to them.

Personally I've had issues getting to Miami form Marco Island with massive brush fires shutting down the major highways, Took alligator alley which was under extremely heavy construction, Heavy thunderstorms in Miami......we left @ 8:00am and barely made it too the ship. My wife was in contact with Celebrity constantly checking to see if we could still board with all the delays.

Well Celebrity didn't give a hoot....its our problem if we don't make it...good luck

And I didn't have a problem with that , nor should others who don't make it.

    Plan better

    Buy insurance

    stop complaining

    Cheers
