  1. The very first cruise we took the waiter was explaining to us if we don't like the food and mark the food lower that was a reflection on him the waiter. He said if the food wasn't good it was his job to know and to get us food we liked or was good. He might have been the best waiter we had. If someone didn't like their food he could tell and he would ask if he could bring you this or this to eat. He knew what we ordered and what we liked so he recommended those types of food to us.

  2. Hello Laura,

Thank you so much for the posts. We are doing the Southern on May 20th. We are so ready and this makes us even more ready and gives us some ideas on things we may want to do. While we have our excursions we do have some time we could do some other things or stop to eat or drink.

    Thank you!!!!

  3. I find it easier and less stressful planning, but question, if I just wore a pair of nice pants and a blouse and my other half a short sleeve nice shirt and dockers will there be others dressing the same way in the MDR on formal evenings?

My cruise is only in 13 days so I don't think our choice in times would be available, but I would assume they should keep. open some tables for all dining times for those who get on the ship and want to book and have dining packages?

We were unable to get Solarium Bistro, only 9:30 was available way too late to start dinner, anybody have any advice to the Solarium Bistro, pro/cons? We never tried it on the Allure.

I'm on vacation and I don't want to have to dress up in a suit or a tux. We usually eat all but one night in the MDR and I am always in a 3 button polo and dockers. I never feel under dressed and I don't really care as this is my vacation and I haven't run into anyone outside of cruising so it doesn't bother me one little bit. I'm more comfortable this way than I was when I dressed up so I'm fine.

Dress how you want and enjoy your evening.

  4. Have they quit sending out the adhesive tags? I was told for years they quit sending those out but I received them on my cruise last August and the cruise in 2015 also. I was in a Grand Suite so I'm not sure if that matters or not.

  5. We have ridden the lift up the mountain and then rode the bob sled. We ate up there and then rode the lift back down. It was fun. I'm not sure how good bob sledding is for a pregnant woman. We also took the white water rafting. There wasn't really any rapids to speak of and if she wanted to do that she wouldn't even have to paddle but she could sit in the raft and just ride it. There really wasn't any worry of turning over.

  6. I went to DRF 2 years ago and my daughter wanted to do this but I told my wife I had no desire as it looked in pictures to be a lot of work. When I got there we were walking around and we noticed that there were little old ladies that appeared to be about 70-75 going up. I thought if they can do it so can I so I told my wife lets go. We joined our group and had a lady that was 74 I believe going with us. I'm larger but used to be very athletic. I can get around but my knees sometimes give me trouble. I managed to make it up without any problems as did this 74 year old. As long as you can walk normal and get around you will be ok. If you struggle to walk or get up stairs I don't recommend it. They will help by giving you a hand to pull you up so you do have help. They tell you where to step when you need to step in specific spots. I did it once and have no desire to do it again but I am glad I did it once.
