Just got off Carnival Celebration and after a rough start because of the port issue I have to say I finally felt that I didn’t get nickel and dimed for everything. I have cruises NCL Disney and Royal but never Carnival. Besides the room charge for the casino( that was a bit much but hey when in Rome) the only thing I had to pay for was the bolt. And why not when do you get to ride a coaster at sea! I had the cheers package and it included all my coffees, milk shakes, and alcohol. My wife said my attitude on the first morning was completely different with my cold brew instead of mud coffee. Granted I haven’t cruised since a cancellation because of real bitterness about the 9 month refunds on Ncl during covid, I have never had anything included on alcohol packages except alcohol. Maybe that’s the new norm across the industry but man was I happy.
When it comes to the celebration itself there are so many options for food you have no reason to pay extra for Fahrenheit or Emeril unless you’re trying to escape the kids. Guys burgers are delicious and the food truck options are an excellent idea in my opinion. Pig and Anchor was mostly hit with 1 day an over seasoned brisket lit my but up with heat but 1 day is nothing. I didn’t even have a chance to try Chibang because there’s not enough stomach on the human body to eat that much.
Really my only negative comment would be the central theater is not enclosed and in-front of the sushi, stores, and other restaurants and bars as well as the casino on the 7th so dings are audible when the doors open. It’s nearly impossible to hear dialogue from the circus show. But other than that well done CCL.- 14

t showed them at 22 knots (Wikipedia says the top speed is 23) and arrival 3.5 hours later than originally scheduled.
I got off this morning and we had amber cove and San Juan delayed but given a little extra time at ports. But as you stated when not in port we were Hauling. With speeds that fast and some rough weather Monday-Wednesday I expected some complaints on board but the ship is so large you really did not notice honestly. The last 2 days at sea we travelled at a very leisurely pace.

I just got off the Celebration, no coin pushers they replaced it with claw machines that “attempt” to pick up packs worth 100 200 or 500. 5 dollars for 5 attempts.

To ellasmomandd:As for this nonsense regarding the rights of cruisers ( I have to assume we're talking strictly about cruising and not just politics here) it makes no sense to try to hold cruise lines responsible to the bill of rights of USA when there are cruisers from around the world who cruise NCL.
Your correct to a point but where do you board? Maybe to Alaska you get Vancouver but most likely your going to the us which does give you those rights. That’s how this started. It was never about being onboard he clearly said “But, as people have noted above, this will be a major issue on US-boarded cruises if it is still in effect. “

Wasn't the quote about places in the US ( post number 10 ) and not on a cruiseship or anywhere outside the US? Did I missunderstood that?
No you didn’t misunderstand. Sea shark didn’t look at the origin.

Sorry to have to reel you in from your distraction, but what do your first amendment, or any other rights granted to you as a citizen of the US, have to do with anything that happens on a foreign-flagged ship or while visiting another country?
Dave specifically said in this country and mentioned the pride of America. That’s where this started.

It has been a month.
Today I am escalating to the Bank of Montreal Ombudsman and if not happy to the Canadian Banking regulation group.
Educate me please what are these groups. Is this the equivalent of the US federal reserve? I had to look up Ombudsman I had never heard that word before.

Unfortunately, it's just the opposite. Not wearing a mask and not social distancing are what's not working. Look at those house parties, pool parties, lake/boat gatherings even hallways in schools packed - no masks and no social distancing resulting in spikes of positive Covid cases.
Explaine NY long term care facility massacre by Cuomo. Those people never left there room the ultimate social distance. Nurses stayed there for months so no reason it should have been there.

t would have been nice to have all the facts about the MSC excursion policy before posting.
MSC offers at least one free excursion in each port to passengers (depends on cabin type).
Yes it would have, I don’t go on MSC. if you read this thread and the article it comes across differently. If docked and you want to get some land legs you can’t get back on.

Is there any evidence showing that the cruise lines are charging triple the price for the same excursion available privately, or by saying "triple the price" are you just exaggerating for effect?
Yes go on any excursion on there website then go price it out privately. Perfect example is Cozumel. Playa Maya 100 a person thru ncl 25 if you take a cab.

Never saw the "freedom to go without a mask" in that amendment. Perhaps I have an abridged version.
It called freedom of speech which included clothing. California vs Cohen.

I hear ya’ll, but doesn’t it bother anybody that the msc protocols means that if you want to get on land you pay triple the price. There protocol essentially creates a monopoly, they can charge whatever they want by threat.

It’s been a few months but to really get some “feathers” ruffled I’ll add this. I was supposed to be on the June 28 breakaway. They canceled obviously. Just like everyone else I called Amex said the time was too long and I didn’t want there white piece of paper credit I wanted the green paper. Amex took 30 days asked for more info I referred them to the NCL website with there terms. Amex returned my money closed the case because Ncl didn’t respond. Now I used a chase card for my initial deposit so i still needed to file a refund request for my 150 deposit. I got my 150 back July 28 ( shocking only 83 days I guess I’m special). Because of poor customer service and poor accounting practices at ncl they refunded my Amex too. So I got a double refund and 30 days have already passed. Guess who isn’t getting there money back NCL. They held on to my money so I’m holding there’s. Blacklist here I come.

This is an article I just read. I’m particularly curious about number 4
4. An outbreak management and response plan must be in place to provision and assist an affected cruise ship that relies on industry resources, e.g.,mobilization of additional cruise ships or other vessels to act as “hospital” ship for the infected, “quarantine” ship for the exposed, and “residential” ship for those providing care and treatment, including the ability to transport individuals between ships as needed.
I read that, as 3 ships in the fleet need to be hospitals. Is that even possible with them being billion dollar builds?

It’s not a cruise seaman but I get to sit at restaurant and go bowling on Friday. I’ll take that as a win and one step closer.

My last cruise this past February, all we bought was 2 Gelato's. Our total bill was under $10 I think (DSC excluded)
Ours was $50 I think, maybe 40 all cork fees from wine we bought on shore.

1. Passengers who pay lower fares tend to spend less aboard
If your searching for cheap rates or waiting for the lowest price vs someone who identifies a cruise as once in a lifetime. Imo the once in a lifetime person is going to go all out the cheap fare person most likely has 3 more booked.

At this point a doctors note would be useless anyway even if you could find a doc that would actually give you one.
I used this line as well on the call.

Ncl rep and there supervisor. I called for clarification. I called because I wanted to see if there was anyway of determining if my dad would get denied before he got to the port. He is in remission from lung cancer so I kind of assumed and hoped the answer would be he can’t come. The answer I got was we don’t know. The rep noted I had two separate reservations. The room with my parents would get a refund if the old man is denied I would not. I made the mistake of booking a week apart instead of two rooms at the same time.
First Carnival Cruise thoughts.

That’s all I do, and there were many of them. On the last night I also do this to grab some envelope money for room stewards, club staff, and a couple of my favorite servers throughout the week get a little extra pocket money.
I got pick pocketed about 10 years ago in Miami so I don’t bring more than a couple dollars and use the room charge on slots as my personal atm and pay it back to the cc company when I get home.
