  1. I think it would be very easy to get your moneys worth without being inebriated. With any good all inclusive/ pub if someone had had too much to drink the bar staff would refuse to serve them. Morning orange juice £2.50, two soft drinks during day £4, Glass of champagne at sailaway £6, Half a bottle of wine with dinner £10, cocktail before bed in crows nest or the theatre £6, bottle of water for cabin £1.50 that's £30 a day. My younger sister had the soft drinks package and went through it very quickly as well as a 'mocktail' of an evening with us so she was easily spending £10-£15 a day. I didn't have any of the specialty coffees but would have been nice mid morning, I wouldn't have paid for one but I would have one if I had a package. Just to be able to get a large orange juice and smoothie of a morning would be brilliant rather than trying to fit 4 'shots' of juice on a tray let alone if everyone in my party of 4 wanted juice and/or smoothies.

Again I have been on 10 cruises, short and long, all of the family friendly ships as well as working onboard Azura and the Queen Elizabeth for three months each time and never saw any bad behavior related to alcohol. I was nervous for my first trip on Ventura last summer as it does have a reputation but I was so pleasantly surprised about the atmosphere I am booking again for next year.

It would just be so nice to go onboard knowing exactly what you are going to spend and not be keeping tabs on how much particular drinks are. Perhaps it would also mean the waiters are less pushy, I am not exaggerating when I say I was approached 10 times in an hour while sunbathing on a sea day last year.

  2. We had 2 party sail always, classic songs like YMCA the conga etc and 2 great British with rule Britannia, Delilah for wales, 500 miles for Scotland, belle of Belfast city for Ireland etc, quite a few old songs but they could have played anything with the atmosphere on the deck. And I'm only 22!

  3. Hello,

Been back a week and have major post cruise blues :(

Does anybody have a list of the songs Neil Oliver and his fab team do on the party sail away, great British sail away and the headliner show from the tropical deck party?

    Much appreciated :)

  4. We will be in Venice aboard the Ventura. Few questions:

Average bar bill for two weeks?

If airport shopping has to fit into hand luggage and when hand luggage gets weighed?

If you have to recollect luggage going home for it to be weighed or if it goes from cabin to UK airport?

What time bags have to be outside cabin night before for fly cruises?

It is mentioned here but I cannot find anything on P&O.

'Ventura also has the biggest gym of any P&O ship, with the usual assortment of treadmills, cross-trainers, cycles and weights. There are a huge number of exercise classes (Walk a Mile, Fab Abs, Legs, Bums & Tums etc.), some of which carry a fee, such as Body Sculpt Boot Camp. You can also opt for a Health & Wellbeing Cruise Pass, which includes the boot camp and costs £55.40 per person. Or you can hire a personal trainer for an hourly charge of £47.'

  6. Hello,

How much airport shopping do they let you take on? Worried about the hand luggage weight allowance 5kg isn't much but neither is 20kg for two weeks in the med!! 4 girls need a lot of toiletries!

Also if the flight leaves at 6.15am what time will we likely get on board?

  7. Hello,

Has anyone ever eaten in a select dining venue when the celebrity chef is onboard? We have booked for East when Atul Kochar is on Ventura so hopefully will be a special night! Do they do anything else when on also?
