On our Explorer cruise in May is was $9.95/pp + 18% gratuity but soda was included and you could order as much as you wanted from the menu. Shakes were $5 extra

Just noticed your location. We’re kind of neighbors.

This link will show which dock for each ship.

Most of the cruise ships leave Seattle about 4pm. You’ll be able to see land pretty well until you get up into to the Straits of Juan fuca https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strait_of_Juan_de_Fuca just past Port Angeles Washington. It’ll be about 11pm or so before you get to the Pacific Ocean. The first sea day out in the open ocean can be pretty rough. We’ve been up there when it’s like glass and other times it’s pretty rough.
Thanks. The ocean can be unpredictable at times for sure. This will be my first time in the Pacific.

Does someone always try to create an issue with every aspect of a cruise?
What do you do in a restaurant on land?

I agree -- when everything is complete, you should just get an email saying you're checked in and all is good to go. It could all be done electronically and there would be no need for reams of paper that just gets trashed. And they have it all anyway: somehow we got to the port last fall without boarding passes (we had our other papers). They just looked up our names and booking numbers and instantly printed out new boarding passes and let us in the terminal with those.
They still used paper to print one at the port.

That’s cool

With a name like Kurt Cobain, I thought the same thing.
I hope so.

I have to say, as a sailor it is the Bridge and Galley.
We think alike

Just don't let other cruise lines share the same pier...I know of one that likes to do more that break ground... LOL They will tear up that pier. :-)
Haha. Ain’t that the truth

That’s a bad deal all around.

Thanks for the reviews. Interested to read the rest of it.

Thanks. It looked like it was a long way.
I actually tried searching but came up with little. I assumed the question had been answered but is probably buried in a thread somewhere.

It’s pretty crowded on the sunshine. Room is odd shape and setup. On the other hand, there are monitors and most comedians on the ships don’t need to be seen to get the jokes across.

Anyone that has sailed from Seattle- how long does it take to get out of the sound/strait and into open water. Looks like a pretty good distance on maps. Thanks

We have used Seattle Express before. Not bad but kind of at the mercy of the driver’s priorities. (Ours thought he was a tour guide, literally drove around downtown for over an hour). We used Uber this year. No problems.
