  1. I just returned from the Carnival Paradise Sailing. We docked in Cozumel from 11:00A.M to 8:00P.M I pre booked the Occidental Grand Day Pass with www.cozumeldaypasses.com for $60 per person. Docked at the Puerta Maya pier and it was about a 12 minute taxi ride from the pier. Taxi rate was $8 per person. The Occidental Grand was a nice choice to avoid the overly crowded Cruise Beach Excursions. Check in was a breeze, had to present my printed confirmation, pay my balance and present an ID to show I was over 18 for drinks. Then I followed the sidewalk path down to the pools and beach areas. The first pool I came to was more of an adults only, there was a very large Iguana just lounging under the palm tree. The resort owner said they have a Reserved Natural Area which was nice to walk through on the way down to the beach. The Beach pool had a DJ, restaurant, and beach side Cabanas that were first come first use, I used the beach cabana for the day. It was perfect. Beach side and pool side service and drinks were served in fun coconuts. Lunch was served inside the restaurant on the beach, nice fresh selection. They have snorkeling equipment, and other equipment like kayaks and windsurfing. The waves were high so I didn't chance trying something new. The Beach was really nice, no rocks, very soft sand. I would recommend and do this excursion again.

Thank you for your review! We will be there in a couple weeks and are debating about booking it. Wasnt sure if it was worth the money!

  2. I have been to a lot of the beaches in Cozumel and try to go some place different each time. We recently went to Paradise and it was so beautiful.

Check out my signature line and you can click on the links under Cozumel and see my reviews. They are loaded with tons of pictures of all the places. :)

  3. Freedom last week had the cooler bags that included 8 16oz beers. I had the package, but a person in front of me was buying the cooler deal at the bar. I heard the bar tender tell him refills were at 8 usd each. You had to bring the cooler and the bag offer refill was good for 30 days.

  4. Do they do any drink specials that would include a drink of the day or buckets of beer?

If so, are their refills at a cheaper price if you get a collector cup or bucket/cooler bag?

Also, I heard that if you do buy a souvenir cup/ drink and ask for it in a reg. cup they give you a discount. Is this true?

  5. I'm totally OCD about planning. So this is the template I usually use when packing for a trip. We are going to Mexico in about 40 days, so I've just started getting the list together. As you can see, I'm very specific but the DH is not. He just throws stuff in a bag. LOL

What a wonderful list! Thank you for sharing

  6. Good Morning… we just got off Sunday :D we did the express departure…. We each had one suitcase and I had a purse plus a small bag…. There were people in line with huge suitcases with medium then small attached…. So didn’t seem to be any “rule” other than you absolutely have to be able to handle any/all of your own luggage! And there are ramps plus some distance to walk…. So be prepared to take care of yourself… no porters or gentlemen… unless you bring your own;)

Wish we could get back on the ship.... enjoy... Don't miss the First show and the last show in the Theater... also the Ice Show.... all are great, but these three are "don't miss!"

We are going on Freedom of the Seas on April 8th! we cant wait.. which shows exactly are a must not miss!?

  7. We will be cruising on Royal Caribbean April 8th. We are thinking of swimming with the dolphins in Costa Maya and wanted to get everyone's opinion.

    1. Any thoughts on going through this company? A lot of time with the dolphins?

    2. Are there lockers ? if so we do need to bring our own lock?

    3. Are there changing areas?

Look forward to hearing from everyone!

  8. This is partially accurate, but it implies that one can get to a beach right next to the tender dock, which is not the case. The closest public access part of 7 Mile Beach is at Royal Palms, which is very roughly 1.5 miles or so from the dock. It is an easy bus ride to get there.

Okay thank you for clarifying ! I will look into this

  9. 7-Mile Beach runs right beside the tender dock for about 6 miles! (It's not actually 7 miles long!)....the bus is cheap and easy to get to a nice beach access with facilities, rentals, etc.....$2.50 pp. Very easy!

Thank you for this information!! Can’t wait !

  10. Tons of hotels with occupancy in the area. Are you just needing a place to sleep or with things to do around the hotel?

You can also look further west away from the beach. Like Extended Stay America Plantation. Which is right next to tons of restaurants. I show it's just $114/night for April 7th.

Thank you for this information. I will have to look into it, just stinks that we will have to pay $15 a day to keep our car at the port. I was hoping to leave it at the hotel

  11. We are trying to decide if we want to go to western Caribbean where we haven't been yet(on a cruise) or do an all inclusive resort somewhere else

I have been reading not the best reviews for Falmouth,Jamaica (one of the stops) and not sure what to do!

If anyone knows any good recommendations for all inclusive this would help s lot

    Thanks
