  1. It didn't ruin our trip but the last afternoon a woman in the next room was yelling at her grown daughter that she was ruined, and the daughter had ruined her life, etc etc, very upset and very loud. From what we couldn't help hearing, the daughter had charged way too much on the ship credit card. (I felt sorry about that actually). They calmed down later and we saw them on the balcony later.

  2. I have osteoarthritis too. Stairs are very hard, but not impossible but I take elevators as much as possible. I will be 70 in 3 months. The problem I encountered on our last cruise out of New Orleans was using the trolley, I guess I hurt my knee on that high step, and got bursitis in my knee as well. I managed pretty well until the last day and was forced to take a wheelchair to disembark. People were so nice and helpful. My experience at Costa Maya was to sit at the beach in a shady table area with an ice bag. I learned not to try for those high steps into vans and trolleys though! (What doesn't kill me makes me stronger ;). Thanks all.

  3. Thanks so much for your review. I enjoyed it very much and am so happy you enjoyed your cruise. Loved your videos and savvy comments. On your way to Florida you passed through my hometown of El Reno, Oklahoma on I40.

    Hope you enjoyed your drive!

  4. Not sure if this has already been answered, but there was a fire in Cagneys knocking out the dishwasher a few weeks ago, and since then the suite breakfasts were moved to La Cucina. We were on the April 17 cruise as well and really enjoyed the cruise, the family suite and the butler, steward and concierge were all really great! Weather cooperated, and it was a great cruise and a few days of great weather in NOLA as well.

  5. I am fortunate to be a friend of Bill W. for 25 years as of 1/2/16 and it is really great that these meetings are available on cruise ships. Anyone is welcome to come to the party at Bill's place. 😀 I'm thrilled to be enjoying the heck out of the cruise without a drink in my hand!

  6. We just got back from Bermuda on the Dawn. We liked Bamboo and chose to eat there instead of a specialty restaurant one night. I had the fried squid, veggie fried rice and cashew chicken both times because I liked it. The mango tapioca pudding is interesting...bigger tapioca than I had ever seen. Service was great, no line. I think it is a great option for people who like Asian food.

  7. We were on the Dawn to Bermuda last May and are going again in a few days. We found the service to be great. No problems. One night we had to wait awhile to get into the Aqua dining room, but we met nice people as we waited. I expect to have a great time.:)

  8. When you buy the soft drink package do they still give you the Norwegian insulated cup? We were on the Dawn last year, and are wondering if they still give these out? We enjoyed the soft drinks, but BTW :) found that the bars on board make much better sodas than the restaurants.

    Thanks!

  9. On ou very first cruise to Bermuda, we avoided snorkel park entirely. There are prettier, cleaner beaches. I'm no expert, but we took a 3 hour cab tour with a nice local fellow who is, and he said Snorkle Park is a "dump". If you can't get to any other beach, I suppose it is ok, but I highly recommend Horseshoe Beach.

  10. Waiter was very attentive...there was only one other table occupied. We liked the fried calamari too. It, however is not my fave, but maybe because it was a little too deserted when we were there. We are going back for dinner there again!

  11. For me, sounds like the walk would be too long. We will find a "shuttle". Thanks Flowers44, for your info. People in Bermuda are so friendly we never have any problems. Just make sure you know the ferry schedule back to the ship! The bus :) is a long trip!

  12. We loved the glass bottom boat tour. I stayed upstairs and did not go with the people down below and saw just as much! I had a chance to talk with the tour guide (Jim) which was fun. The glass bottom boat dock is about a 2 block walk from the end do the ship pier. I don't do well with long distances, but had no trouble at all. We enjoyed it so much we are doing it again, booking through NCL. It is not a huge boat so probably fills up fast. 1 1/2 hours on the beautiful blue sea with nice company...what's not to like?

  13. We went last year at this time. There can be rain, but temps are in the 70s. Bring a wrap or sweatshirt hoodie for boat rides. I bring an umbrella just in case. We had beautiful weather last year. I did not find the ocean too cold...it was lovely at Horseshoe Beach. It is not hot like the summer, more like spring in the southern US. Have a great time!

  14. We got off the Dawn last year and there were no blue flags around. We took a regular taxi And the man was friendly, knew every road, had lived there all his life. The roads are not easy, so we were happy he was driving! He tok us around Hamilton, to the beaches, and other sites, including his home and local places. We found it very nice and we stopped when we wanted to. The cost was $ 150 for 3 hours, and I tipped him because he was such a great guy. Locals know a lot and we discussed island life, politics, economy, the price of growing tomatoes (lots of people grow and sell vegetables to make ends meet), saw his schools,:) and everything. Very nice way we thought to get the lay of the land. St George's would have taken too long...we go there by ferry.

  15. We took the shuttle last year and it was fine. Left from the shelter near the ship. The driver took his time during the loading...left us sitting there for 10 minutes. We had to wait after the beach for the van to come. There were lots of taxis at the beach. This year we are going to tale a taxi, since the cost is about the same.

  16. We live in Boston, so of course we love the convenience of going to a cruise that starts 30 minutes from our front door. The Dawn is great for us, a retired couple. Friendly hard working staff, plenty of good food and specialty restaurants, and people enjoying themselves. There may be fancier larger ships, but the Dawn is just big enough to feel comfortable and kind. Plenty of fun:) for us. (Kids looked very happy, nice kids buffet).
