haha...this thread is cracking me up. I like dive bars and fun drinks....we will see where my travels lead...
Any suggestions for good food is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks. I just saw pics from Greengo's that looked good. I grew up in So Cal, but live outside of Nashville now so I have had plenty of great Mexican and lots of gringo Mexican. I guess I will just see what strikes me when I am there. Thanks for the tip on the Nisky Center. We dock in Crown Bay.
Does anyone have feedback about Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook? Good food? Just a kitschy place with fun drinks? Is it worth a side trip?
What about Greengo's Cantina in town? Good food? Worth a stop or just meh?
We don't arrive until 4. What is there to do? It looks like the forts, a lot of shops and restaurants close by 5. I'm not interested in the excursions I've seen so far.
What are some suggestions?
What a lovely review! I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise.
I am also a fan of shopping grocery stores in different places to look for unique things to bring home.
I had sent an email a couple weeks ago and never received a response. I sent them a message via Facebook messenger and they responded within a couple of hours. You may want to try that.
@Sammigarand @TeeRickthank you both. I am also going to be a retreat newbie. I am pro tipping above the "AI" as I was raised by a single waitress. It's a divisive topic and I have been searching looking for appropriate amounts to tip above the included rate. This thread was helpful in sorting out retreat host vs room steward as well as some of the extra support staff.
If we dock at 7, do you think I have time to make the 8 a.m. ferry? Otherwise, it's the 10 a.m. one and have to return at noon. There aren't any ship excursions showing for Jost Van Dyke yet. We sail May 2023
