  1. OP, did you book directly with NCL, if so, I have no idea why you'd be told cancellation of your cruise deposit is non-refundable, I'd call NCL back again.  If not, call your TA. It certainly is refundable at this point. 

    PS - unless, as Maanio has said, you booked through a European site. Good luck

    Their 14 day cruises are basically cheaper due to not paying gratuities for the drink package.

    They should not advertise free drink packages,it is not if you have to pay and additional $690 for gratuity 

    Then cruise with Celebrity, easy-peasy. No worries.

    I believe you would be considered in the minority.  Most who cruise on a regular basis (NCL and other cruise lines) accept that with the limited number of stewards/staff, that we all need to be more considerate of our hard-working people. I'm very grateful for the work they do to make my cruise more enjoyable! 

    I do not request my cabin to done by a certain time and appreciate if it gets done.
