Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We will be in Aqaba on a cruise for the day on 5 Nov from 8am-7pm and are considering either a visit to Petra or Petra and Wadi Rum on the one day. I have found a couple of tour operators that offer the tours, but is it too ambitious and would be too rushed to do both in one day, or is this achievable and worth doing? And if so which one? Thanks
  2. We are doing a Norwegian Fjords cruise in mid August and will be visiting Molde, Alesund, Flam and Stavanger. This is what I have booked so far: Flam: Flam Railway and visit to Stegastein viewpoint Stavanger: RIB boat to Lysefjorden So we have an mountain view excursion in Flam and water excursion in Stavanger. We need to finalize tours for Molde and Alesund. In Alesund I really would like to do the boat day trip from Alesund to Geiranger which is timed for the cruise ship, as I read the views are spectacular and one of the best areas to visit. We are also interested in the Trollstigen tour which operates from Alesund and takes about 6 hours. There is a similar tour from Molde that is 2 hours longer, and only available through the cruise ship from what I can find. Ideally I think it would be good to split a water vs mountain tour in each of these ports, but would be interested in others opinions My questions for those who have been there, are: 1. In Alesund would the geiranger day trip be your first choice over the trollstigen tour? 2. in Molde, is it worth doing a tour to trollstigen (8 hours round trip)? 3. Or would people recommend abandoning geiranger day trip and doing trollstigen from Alesund? 4. In Molde, is the Atlantic coast trip worth doing or is it not as impressive as the trollstigen trip! Thanks
  3. Thanks for the feedback, we ended up moving our visit to the Blue Lagoon to our first day in port and are doing the golden circle tour the following day. They guarantee to get us back for the ships departure (unless something beyond their control comes up 😂).
  4. We are planning a trip to the Blue Lagoon using their bus service to transfer from the port to the Blue Lagoon and back again. The first return bus leaves the BL at 12.15pm and they advised they will drop us off at around 1pm and we should get back to the ship by 1.30pm (for a 2pm departure), so it is cutting it quite fine. The bus goes from the BL to to the BSI bus terminal where you transfer to another bus to the port. Has anyone used the Blue Lagoon transfer service to the port and can advise if the 12.15pm bus will have us back to the port by 1.30pm (or at latest before 2pm)?
