  1. I added all info about cruising and options with our save the dates. I am finding that the website isn't being utilized.

I have finalized our room blocks. Unfortunately there is a huge convention in New Orleans the weekend of our wedding. Prices are high. I picked one that I've stayed at by the airport and another closer to the port. I thought I wanted one design for our cake but found something else on Etsy. I hope it won't be a problem when I change.

  2. Is there a list, or I pick something? This is included in the reception cost, right?

You need to contact your coordinator about it. I found that it's not something that they advertise. I only learned about it through these boards. I found what was offered and relayed to her that I wanted it offered.

  3. How is your planning going? I officially ordered save the dates and I'm waiting on them to arrive. I booked makeup and hair. I'm waiting on more time to pass so that I can reserve hotel rooms.

I switched to the Time to Celebrate Big reception. I'm going to use red mercury votives I found and use the battery operated lights on the tables along with some damask luminaries I found on Etsy. I just love that site!

  4. We ordered our save the dates. I'm just waiting for them to come in. I booked my makeup/hair artist today. I'm giving my bridesmaids the option of if they want to use her or do their own. I've used her before so I know her work.

When are you ladies going to start shopping for your gowns?

  5. We are changing from the Let Us Serve You luncheon to Time to Celebrate Big. The main reason for the change is the cost involved in being able to have the space look the way that I would like it to. The vendor is now only offering one type of small rose centerpiece at $100 each. They have also increased the price of floral upgrades. I received that new list yesterday. Adding up the costs of guests between the two packages saves us $450 between them. I won't have to put out extras for menu cards and the like for the tables and the other item's I was planning on bringing to dress the tables.

I love to host dinner parties at home, so I already knew I would want a specific look. I don't want to worry about lugging a bunch of items on board, which is why I wanted to use the vendor. So now we will just switch gears and plan a less formal event. I'm fine with that. This is my second marriage and I want this wedding to be stress free!

  6. Hi Erica! I'm not sure if you've been in contact with anyone at TWE yet. I have been waiting for almost a month for a price quote for flower centerpieces. When I inquired about when I would be receiving the quote, I was told that the vendor was not sure if they would be providing flowers at some of the ports. I don't know if any flower upgrades are a part of your plans, but I am just passing that info along.

I asked what other options I would have, as a non decorated table isn't an option for me. I'm still waiting on a response.

  7. Hi!! I was originally booked for 12/31/15, but due to scheduling issues we moved the date to 4/7/16 on the Carnival Victory (celebrate big package)!! I am very excited!! Congrats to all you other 2016 brides!

I have a few questions that maybe someone will know:

    - does anyone know what the bridal bouquet looks like that comes with the wedding package? I've been trying to find pictures on here, but they all look like upgrades.

    - so I know you can do a signature cocktail.. would that be considered an upgrade? If so, does anyone know the price??

The signature drink is included in your package. You need to tell them that you would like to include it to your guests and ask them to send you a list of your options.

I attached a picture of the bouquet that comes with the package that was sent to me by Carnival.

  8. Kelly... how soon after you booked did you hear from TWE. My coordinator has yet to call me. I got a ton of information and forms sent to me via 2 separate emails but I haven't heard from anyone.

I looked at the flower options and sadly wasn't very impressed. Their prices seemed high and they didn't have a lot of options so I'm thinking of making silk arrangements myself and taking them with me. I figured I could play around with some and see how they turn out. I want to make one for each of the columns and a bouquet for myself but I haven't thought of any other flowers that I might want yet.

Oh yes... and thanks to pinterest and my imagination I'm now thinking of doing OOT bags which may be pricey once I have all of the things I want for them. What is everyone's opinion on the bags? A nice gesture? Will people use them? Wasted money?

I booked over a month ago and have not received a call. I did get some emails. There are other flower options if you want fresh flowers. Your contact through TWE can get a price quote for you if you have samples of what you want. If you decide to make some arrangements just remember that you have to get them on and off the ship.

At this point I am not doing OOT bags like those I've been seeing. Depending on how things go, I want to design shirts for those who go on the cruise. My aunt owns a shirt company so I would get a great deal. I might do a little snack bag with local treats for anyone who stays in the hotel the night before.

  9. I do not have an answer to your question, but have you considered looking for similar ones (or others you like) elsewhere and bringing them with you? We took our own with us and tied bows around the stems as you're describing. The ones we used were actually the ones my parents used at their wedding.

I was planning on bringing my glasses with me. I like the words and designs hand painted on them. Plus on the base it says Carnival. Thank you for your suggestion. Possibly an online auction site may have them!

  10. Hello everyone.

I know that Carnival provides toasting flutes, but I do not plan on using those. I actually found some flutes on Carnival through the Bon Voyage department. I would just add a bow to the stem.

My only issue is if I would be able to have them in the room for embarkation to have at our reception. I've had items delivered on embarkation before that were in the room when I arrived, all the way up until after dinner on the first night. I know that timing can't be guaranteed but I wonder if it would be worth it to contact bon voyage. I've fallen in love with the glasses. They would be a great memory on our anniversary for years to come.

  11. Congratulations! I am a Dream bride also. We are getting married 2/14/16 going to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. I like what you have done so far. We are doing save the dates. We made a wedding website through Carnival and are putting that link on them. I believe our site is thorough. I just want our guests who want more info to be able to get it or book. I'd post a pic, but I don't want to hijack your thread.

    All the best!

  12. We are going to go with 3 tiers. I want to go with their regular piping, but I want the piping to be black instead of white. We are going to have the fresh red roses on top with a cake topper. I'm waiting until I get closer for the piping request. I don't want that to get lost.

Also, I wonder if we can bring our own cake stand.
