That's awesome to hear! It makes me even more excited about our cruise on Oasis next month!
-
Thank you so much to you both for your help! :)

My family is coming into St. Maarten next month, and we're considering renting a car and driving to Marigot for shopping/lunch, then to Maho Beach to watch the planes land. (Already went to Orient Beach last time we were at SXM)
What's the parking situation like at Marigot and Maho? If there are lots nearby, where are they and what is the cost? Any information would be helpful, I'm trying to plan this out so we don't have too many surprises!

The other side of this is that the cruise line is not sending you pages upon pages of cruise documents anymore...so actually, it's saving paper this way, not wasting it.

Not true for the all of FL. [we paid a one-way fee for Tampa to FLL] It may be true for MCO to PC.
We are going from TPA to PC next month, renting with Budget, and we are not paying a drop fee.

Thanks so much for the awesome and very helpful review! We are on Oasis in about a month, and this helps give us a little direction on what to do (and what to look out for!).

I was going to buy discount arcade credits ahead of time for my kids too, until I saw this photo linked below. Check out the sign hanging over the arcade "recharge station."
Is this deal only on Adventure, or all ships?

I've never taken my BC on international trips. No need to with the passport, and taking it only increases the chances that it's going to be lost/stolen.
Thanks! Will check it out. I have to renew in 2018.The State Department has a nice page comparing the passport card vs. the book, including all the fees and where the card can/cannot be used:

Planet X is not going to have access to his cruise planner on the ship either. You can no longer access your reservation on the Royal Caribbean website starting around 48 hours prior to your cruise.
Wow, that's a bummer. Thanks for the heads up...guess we'll be printing out our My Calendar pages a few days before sailing!
-
Be sure to make good use of the My Calendar feature on the Cruise Planner. In addition to blocking off the time on the calendar for the shows where you have reservations, you can also add your dining reservations, activities, and even custom events where you get to put in the description of what you're doing at what time.
We're sailing next month on Oasis and have found the My Calendar feature to be very useful in planning out our days in advance. We'll have Voom on the ship, so we're going to be able to access the planner from our devices, but it would be just as easy to print out each day on the calendar with your planned activities/reservations and make copies to bring aboard.

Don't forget the +18% gratuity.
Naturally! ;p

I like the idea of a Grand Buffet sea-day brunch also. Makes more sense to be midday than at midnight. But it must be something to all guests, IMO, not just top tiers.
Coming soon: the Grand Buffet Experience, only $99 per person...

You are absolutely 100% correct on this.
There is no way, no how, anybody can hack a secure email like GMAIL.
So let's put these unfounded rumours to rest once and for all.

Lost it. Nice job. :D;p

Wow, this is fantastic! I had been wondering about this recently, especially trying to figure out if my kids will be able to eat at CK. Thanks so much for pointing us in the right direction!

Can you please explain. We are taking our first cruise on Liberty and we purchased the drink package.
Thank you
Freestyle machines are only on certain RCI ships, about half the fleet: Quantum Class, Oasis Class, Freedom, Adventure, Explorer, Jewel, Grandeur, Enchantment and Majesty. Not Liberty. Drinks are from the bars and restaurants only on ships without the Freestyle machines.

How about a people mover to get from the front to the back of the ship quickly?
Carnival actually had this on the drawing boards for their Pinnacle project (as well as a lazy river that criss-crossed itself several times) that never got built. Check it out in the video here:

I'm sure there are plenty of people who have taken a 1 year old on a cruise ship but having had a child that young at one point, I can't help wondering what the hell these people were thinking. Not just about the pool thing, but bringing a baby on a cruise ship in general. We tried taking our daughter on a local (car) vacation when she was just a few months old and the amount of work that went into the whole production made the entire trip very hectic and not relaxing at all. I can't imagine spending thousands upon thousands of dollars to do the same.

Thanks for sharing, Fathom5! Just to add to the mix, my daughter's passport application was submitted from our local (small-town) post office on June 3 and we had it in hand by this past Saturday (June 24). This was a standard application for a child with no paperwork issues, your mileage may vary.
We put in a separate renewal application for my stepdaughter on June 24, with expedited service because we were worried about not getting it in time for our August sailing. Hoping to have that one in hand soon.

See post #10 above.
Thank you!! :D

There are free juices at breakfast - only the fresh squeezed stuff costs extra.
Does this apply in the MDR and CK as well? Or are non-squeezed juices still pay per drink at breakfast in those venues?

Rotation on Harmony
Oasis OTS - Capt Rob Hempstead (started rotation 5-27-17)
Oasis OTS - Capt Per Kristoffersen
Can I ask...when does a captain's rotation end? We will be sailing on 8/13, wondering if we'll have Captain Rob or Captain Per?
-
Quantum Class #4? I doubt they'd use another name starting with "S" for Oasis Class #5.

Bowling
I second this. MSC already has a small alley on at least one of their ships. Could be fun...especially when the seas are rocky.

Create a land based theme park at the port city and avoid the issues having ships.
Now where's the fun in that? ;)
topless bathing

Seems like there's an overwhelming number of people who want to go topless on a cruise ship... ;p
