  1. Hello, ellbon, I'm booked in 8040 for my next cruise (first time on Azamara) what do you think about this cabin?

I was in 8043 last August which is across the hall from 8040. Between 6 and 7 a.m. every morning I was awoken to significant banging from above as the pool chairs were positioned. I notified Guest Relations and was told the schedule was to have the pool set-up by 7 a.m. I would not book this cabin again.

  2. In February 2018, DH and I will be sailing from Sydney to Auckland on the Azamara Journey. Upon disembarkation in Auckland, we will fly to the NZ south island for a driving tour of the west coast. I'm thinking of the following itinerary: Nelson, Abel Tasman National Park, Highway 6 drive from Greymouth to Westport, Punakaiki (Paparoa National Park & Pancake Rocks), Franz Josef Glacier and Queenstown. Any recommendations for a driver/tour guide? We don't want to drive ourselves.

  4. Here's the question I asked the LCV Ambassador, Nicole, via email. "It is my understanding that the complimentary nights posted after a sailing can be retroactively applied to a reservation made on that sailing."

Here's Nicole's response. "If you move up on the sailing that you created the booking that you want to apply your Complimentary Nights to, the answer is yes."

  5. I had the same question as AllisonJames so last week sent an email to the LCV ambassador. When I hear back, I will post the reply. This is my understanding. The points post to your account and you move up a tier after the cruise. At that time, you can have the reservation you made on board repriced to reflect the complimentary nights.

  6. I'm sailing with Azamara in February 2018 and have OBC that only can be used for shore excursions. Can I book an excursion now and, once the advance use of OBC is possible, call Azamara to cancel the excursion? Then, I'd rebook using OBC credit.

  7. Bonnie,

In 2016, I booked 2 cruises sailing in 2018. I received OBC for shore excursions. Can I convert this to the new OBC promotion without rebooking?

    Pam

  8. Bonnie,

I'm looking at 2018 and 2019 sailings and the promotion still says the early booking benefit is for shore excursions. "This voyage qualifies for our early booking benefit. With the early booking benefit you'll receive up to $1,000 in onboard credit to use on Cruise Global, Connect Local shore excursions when you book your voyage 12 months prior to departure." I would appreciate your clarification.

  9. Question for Bonnie re: February 8, 2018 Azamara Journey sailing from Sydney to Auckland

On February 14, 2018, the itinerary for the Journey indicates cruising through Milford Sound from 7 to 10 a.m. Will the passengers also see the additional sights shown on the video -- Dusky, Thompson and Doubtful Sounds and Breaksea Island?

  10. Private excursions were very feasible and much less expensive than the ship's tours. I only took one ship excursion in Flam, the same one as Jazzbeau. There was not a lot of walking on the excursions except to the Briksdal Glacier and troll cars are available for those who prefer to ride. A lot of the sights were not visible from the ship.

  11. I was on the same cruise and many of the same excursions as Jazzbeau. In addition to those he mentioned, I arranged a private tour in Svolvaer (Lofoten Islands) with Artic Buss. I also arranged a private cruise of Lysefjord (Stavanger) with Rodne Fjord Cruise. We had 8 passengers on each of the private excursions and had a fabulous time.

  12. If the beverage package is selected as the OLife option, is the cost to upgrade to the prestige package $20 per guest per day? $20 is the difference between the House Select package of $39.95 per guest per day and the Prestige Select at $59.95 per guest per day.
