  1. I tried to get the FTTF for our other two rooms over Thanksgiving. Did not happen. We did have one room with the FTTF and after being told to go here, then there, then here,

we finally arrived at the ship walkway only to find the others that did not have FTTF were waiting for us. Luggage did not all get there early as supposed to either. Not a real benefit in my mind.

  2. We too were on the same cruise and agree the cruise was great. We were Misplaced Fascination cruisers and pre cruise was royal hell due to Carnival. The Seona Special in La Romana was great, we were with Christine and had a great time also. Our rooms (3) were all over the 7th floor and all noticed the air quality seemed different right from the start. Asked the steward but said no problem. The last day and night, we started to develop problems. Son in law is in hospital, daughter in emergency room twice, myself and wife have sore throats , kids have the trots, colds and overall blahs. Not blaming or complaining, just wondered if anyone had any of the same.

  3. We (11) were to be on the Fascination over Thanksgiving. We paid in full with gift cards. Never again. We were rebooked in three days after cancellation on the Vista. We were supposedly given a discount. I say supposedly as we leave in three days and one room of the three has not been paid for yet. One department cannot talk to another to transfer gift card monies to finish payment. I have been told as of last Saturday that payment will be finalizes as of Thursday, two days before we cruise. The money we should get back in not available yet, no idea of how much, when and how. Also, the three Grand Suites are now three rooms, not suites in different areas. More to come as we get info.

  4. My offer to buy the gift cards still stands. Carnival only allows $500 OBC per room. We have three rooms and we always wait til we are on the ship to buy excursions. Yes, I know that is not the right way but with eleven people, never can agree on one excursion. By picking from leftovers, we usually have our choice of three to pick from. Crazy, yes but it's been fun waiting for the pick. So, I can always use another gift card or two but buying on the secondary market gets scammed to much. By buying from a CC member gives me a little more of peace of mind. So anyone want to sell a gift card?

  5. We were scheduled on the Fascination Oct 8 sailing from San Juan that was cancelled. We paid our deposit with a credit card and then paid the balance with Carnival gift cards. When the cruise was cancelled, we were told we would get a refund. We received our refund in the form of gift cards. In my opinion, that is not a refund. That is just Carnival holding onto our money for future cruise. So, essentially, we are out that money (bought the gift cards with a credit card) until we can cruise again. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Was Carnival willing to void the gift cards and send you a check? I have emailed my PVP and Carnival Guest Care and am waiting to hear. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar experience and what the outcome was.
I am sailing soon on Vista and would gladly buy the gift cards. PTSMGR1@AOL.COM
  6. The Havana pool and lounges are for guests staying in the Havana rooms. They do check. The loungers are not meant to be reserved unless you are in them. Supposedly, attendants will take items off the chairs if they see them empty for 30 + minutes. However, rarely is it done. If all chairs and loungers are in use and no one at a reserved one, cruisers will take the items and put them someplace else. Have seen that and also have done that myself. If you are only eating lunch, I would suggest leaving something on both chairs.

  7. Do you know how this sounds? Poor you on a luxury cruise ship, think about it.
Do you actually think others do not think of what the people in ports have to go thru? We may not express ourselves but we do care. We just don't hammer those who comment on our post. If you had a cruise scheduled and it looks like you haven't posted any dates for a while, you may also have the same comment.
  8. I agree with Naxer, need to know soon for Thanksgiving cruise on the Fascination as I have prepaid for private excursions in St Thomas and ST MARTEEN. Would have to try and get my money back in time to pay for other port excursions. Yes, I could have gone thru Carnival, but the excursions I picked were not offered. If they were, I would have still gone private to save major bucks as I have 11 people going.

  9. Luggage is a crap shoot at best. We have gotten the FTTF for our cruise out of San Juan free as a suite perk? Anyway, on an NCL cruise, I was shorted one bag. Next day, still no bag and was looked at like I was a BS artist looking for something free. Day 3, came back from breakfast and bag was in the room. Looked like it went thru a thorough search which was ok, it was all normal stuff. I called guest services and they knew nothing about the found bag but they were extremely happy for me and did check with security. Room steward also knew nothing about how it got there. Room door was always closed and locked so never found how it arrived. I wanted to check with the Magician on board but he was terrible so I did not waste my time with him.

  10. Maybe I had better explain myself. By camouflage, I meant shorts that have patterns that are very similar to actual camouflage. Great to wear to and from beach. Sold at Sams club, very comfortable and inexpensive. Waist is very flexible which helps on the last days of the cruise.

  11. Port Royal, sure am glad that your last posts were helpful, your initial post was horrible. This and other boards are two way , give and take. Since a lot of us cruisers do not get to cruise often , your (?) spots probably would only get one or two extra cruise families a day. Not really filling up YOUR beach. My opinion only.
