Hi all,

We are back from our amazing vacation to Europe and wanted to share our experiences since I benefited so much from the previous reports of the Cruise Critic community.

My husband and kids (11 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son) flew out of Washington Dulles on a Wednesday evening. We flew on miles and paid tickets via Lufthansa, through Frankfurt to Rome arriving midday on Thursday. Lufthansa had an amazing international service. The kids were fully entertained with the in-flight entertainment and we could have packed a lot less stuff in their backpacks. I brought a lot of snacks for the flight which came in handy even though the food service was terrific as well.

Bag delivery took forever at FCO but we were fortunate to receive our bags (more on that later). Then we took a taxi downtown to our hotel, the fantastic Domus Liberius, Rome Town House. You can find my review on Trip Advisor.

We just got off our cruise. Corsica was great! The town of Ajaccio is adorable and a nice beach is a short walk to the left. The town has people greeting the ship to give advice on what's doable in the allotted time. We were going to go to a much farther beach by taxi but has miscalculated driving time. Shopping was also popular.

We are a group of 9 so it likely doesn't make sense to share. See you on the boat!

We are going there too on Equinox in a week or so. I'm thinking the beach at Della Pelosa but am having trouble figuring out transport. I know there is a bus from Porto Torres to Stintino and I found a schedule on trip advisor but I can't tell how close to the beach it drops you or if we would need to switch to another option in Stintino to get to the beach.
