  1. Going on our first cruise on Fantasy in a few weeks and I am curious as to how late we could show up at the port via taxi and have plenty of time to board. We live in Charleston so I would like to go work a few hours the morning of departure.

If I'm not mistaken it will show u the times when u print off ur online check in.

  2. Here is a suggestion to Carnival regarding the FUN TIMES. Instead of printing them each day and giving them the night before to each cabin, how about putting them on the computer and making them available several weeks before the cruise. That way we could view them and make plans accordingly like when to hold the Meet & Greet. The cruisers, in turn, could print them and make as many copies as necessary if they wanted to. This would eliminate considerable paper printing for Carnival. Some of the common data for each day could be printed once at the front and then there would be less pages to handle. It should reduce workload since instead of making and distributing the FUN TIMES daily, you would do it one time before the cruise. Any important changes to the main Fun Times could be listed on the Carnival Screens on the TV in each cabin. Of course you could put the all the FUN TIMES on the TV but then you could not print them and I like the idea of seeing the Fun Times prior to the cruise.

    What do you think?

Awesome idea! U really should email carnival about that.

  3. I saved them and scanned them in. I had them as attachments in PDF format in my review. Click below on the Fantasy review. I did a 5 day, end of July 2014, on a Freeport and Nassau itinerary.

Thank u! I'm going on a 7 day. Would it still be similar?

  4. Hello! I know there is a forum for weddings, but not getting help there. If anyone knows of anyone or has gotten married on the Fantasy I would like some help and advice. Did yours go perfectly, problems with the coordinator/planner, guests, pictures, reception and when it was time for non sailing guests to leave?

  5. Oh PULEEEEZE! Part of the fun of being on a ship is going to your cabin each night after turn down and finding, along with the towel animal, the FUNTIMES for the following day and reading through it and planning. I would be most disappointed if the cruiselines did away with this. The FUNTIMES also make a good souvenir.

    I agree!

  6. [ QUOTE=blondie151o;43892492]Hey ... I read your review but have a question. I'm leaving oct 16 on fantasy. Did you or anyone you were with use a birth certificate to board? .. And if so did any of them happen to be the little card size ? That's the size my boyfriend has and was told it would work but just wondering if y'all used this. Thanks

Yes the birth certificates are fine just as long as they have the seal. My sister just uses that and never had a problem. I'm doing that for my son this time bc I didn't want to spend 200 to renew his passport.

  7. I know...I just would rather save the $30 on "fun stuff" especially with the kids where the clothes they have are not all that fancy. Wish my boat had self laundry on board...

U should google it if no one knows. This will be my third cruise and have found out to always pack light. Our first two cruises we over packed. Stayed in our bathing suits the whole time with a nice cover up. Even in ports. Except did dinner.

  8. Don't want to hijack the tread, but I have a quick question about the Fantasy. I am looking at booking the seven night from Charleston. Can anyone tell me what the obstructed view suites are like? Is it worth the extra $300 to get one with a clear view?

My sisters and their guys got the suites with the obstructed views. We are doing the 7 night this OCT 4. They said its worth it to them bc the suites are the only balcony room.

  9. Carnival does a good job with gluten free. My hubby, who has Celiac disease, is very pleased with them. Let the desk know as you enter the main dining room and they will send the hostess to your table. She will go over the next night's menu with you so that your suppers will be gluten free. They do a very good job and can make almost anything on that menu GF. If you want to do breakfast & lunch in the main dining room they will go over those menus with you also. Most of the ships will make a gluten free pizza at the pizza place. I have run into the problem of the server there not understanding what we need but just ask for the pizza manager. On the Lido buffet you just need to think about what foods are GF...go for food without sauces/gravies or breading and opt for whole/unprocessed foods. Good luck, I think you'll be pleased!

They are excellent when it comes to food allergies. My brother n law also has celiac and our previous 2 cruises he had no issues.

  10. Sailing in the Fantasy and I was wondering about area hotels an if any of them have packages that help with port parking.

Yes they do. Google hotels in charleston with cruise packages and a whole list will come up.
