Do you rent the clamshells in advance? I thought it was only the cabanas that can be rented in advance.

You can rent the clamshells in advance as well. At least on Holland America you can, they are listed with the excursions.

Love the balcony!

Keep watching for a deal out of Houston but I'm afraid there's not enough competition to get too hopeful!
-
Absolutely to each their own, but if I worried this much about this kind of stuff, I'd never be able to leave my house.

I actually didn't either until I followed the advice of a poster from a past post - the low prices appeared after I eliminated my temporary internet files and cookies. I'm also seeing these prices for the Houston cruises on February 1 & 15. Unfortunately no movement for the cruise we've already booked and we can't move it as we already have purchased our flights.
Tried that and still don't see it. Thanks for the help! Too bad because I would have booked it!

Wow, I sure don't see that!

Thinking about doing this myself, as Princess sails out of Houston, and they've got some great prices right now.

Glad for this thread. Just booked for my January cruise!

Thanks for posting! I'm on this ship in January and am happy to have the info!

Unfortunately, the only one that makes financial sense is the one leaving from Houston, as I won't need air or hotel and can jump on at the last minute if the prices drop. Since they pretty much have the market cornered for this particular date, it may not happen for me but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Checked yesterday and again today and the price has only dropped about $75, to $1129. I'll keep checking - thanks for the heads up!

I'm only looking at the Emerald Princess since I live in Houston. If I have to fly to Florida and stay in a hotel, that would eat up a lot of any discount and these cruises are already higher priced than any other time of year. There are only outside balconies available and, since I would pay double, as a solo, it's about $2400. Sure want to do it!

Thanks Coral! I think I've about decided to just wait and see what happens. I'll hop on if the fare goes down, do it another time if it stays high. I'm already booked on HAL on January 3 but it would be great to go on this one too!

The Emerald Princess is sailing out of Houston for Christmas week. Since i live in Houston I can wait to book until just before departure. I'm wondering at the likelihood that there will be some sort of last minute sale of unused cabins for a holiday week. Does anyone have any experience with this happening? I really like the itinerary and am thinking about booking it as my first solo cruise.

I think I've decided on the Emerald Princess for Xmas (have to decide on Sunday), getting excited!

Thanks for the input! I made my reservation for Le Cirque. I appreciate your help!

Sorry, this is a bit of a thread hijack but since the posters here frequent the HAL speciality restaurants, I thought I might find answers! I'm cruising on the Westerdam in January and would like to do Le Cirque but don't want to book it on a formal night, as I prefer to be in the MDR that night. How would I determine if that's the night? Secondly, does anyone have an experience with dining on Le Cirque night solo and the ability to request seating with other solo diners? Happy to eat on my own but this might be a nice experience to share. Thank you!

I love Nordstrom and shop there a lot. Two new Racks have opened in my area in the last two months and it appears that they have taken a new direction. The old Rack really made you feel like it was stocked with Nordstrom stuff, both of the new ones, while big and clean and well-lit, appear to be more like Marshalls. Definitely fewer high-end clothes - only 18-19% of the inventory actually comes from Nordstrom full-line stores, according to a recent article. The same article said that the uptick in opening Rack's, and the creation (acquisition?) of Haute Look are an effort to attract more younger shoppers. Having said that, I seldom come out of the Rack without having bought an item or two!

A wristlet, don't want to carry a purse anywhere!

I use Banana Boat Summer Color Deep Dark Color, even though I am pretty fair-skinned, for my body and Dr. Dennis Gross alpha beta glow pad for face. I re-apply twice a week, once I'm happy with the color. Exfoliate before applying. A good tip - rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to get rid of any dark places that appear.

Hope HAL dives in, I would use it!

I use the Amy Butler Sweet Traveler Ultimate Toiletry Bag and it is fabulous. Everything I need goes in there including hair dryer and jewelry and it hangs up. I love it!

I do Stitch Fix, which is clothes every month and lots of fun. Always so neat to get the box, not sure if I'm allowed to post my link, but here it is - https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/4076687

Tim said that he didn't want a "civilian" walking down the runway all exposed. He said if they were regular models he wouldn't have interceded. No reason to believe any of that wasn't the truth.
Unbelievable prices!
