  1. "Confused at best" is being kind.

As Paul would probably agree, I'd find another TA.

You don't need a TA to get the credit. Once on board, if the credit doesn't show up in your account, go to the Captain's Circle coordinator and he/she will get your benefit applied promptly.

  2. I use "freefax.com". It took me a couple of times before I had it figured out. Just read all the directions to be sure you've crossed all your I's and dotted all your T's.

    Works great.

Thanks so much for this tip JF retired RRT. I used Freefax today to send in forms for 2 different cruises coming up in the next 2 months. Got an email confirmation that Princess had received it so I'll print that out and take with me in case there's any question about when I did it.

Also, in one of my posts where I was complaining about having to fax, I mentioned wishing I could upload the form directly to Princess. Some have misconstrued that as an email attachment. I'm not talking about emailing it. I meant I wished we could scan the form and our stock proof and UPLOAD directly to Princess--no problem with virus that way. This forum is a great resource for me!! Thanks again.

  3. It's not a huge dividend (can't remember--maybe $25 of so on the minimum purchase), but you do get a dividend and the real benefit is the OBC that can be used to pay gratuities, excursions, etc. We waited for a few months thinking the stock would go down, but it went up. We were planning to cruise quite a lot in 2015 (which we did over 125 days w/ Princess or HA) so we did it. If you plan to cruise more than once every few years, it's definitely worth it.

  4. I have to agree that the shareholder benefit is a GREAT perk! My only irritation is having to fax it since I don't have a fax. I REALLY wish they'd let us scan it and upload it to a website! I don't mind doing it every time, but it would sure be easier for me to upload than to fax! If anyone has any pull with Princess, please ask them to start accepting an uploaded version!! Thanks!

Oh, and I find Holland America to be much faster applying the credit than Princess. As others have said, be sure to take copies with you showing everything you need in case you get on board and it's not in your credits.

Also, for the frequent flyers, don't forget about your loyalty on board credit too! We were on 3 b2b's in 2015 when we got to the point of qualifying for additional $25 each and it wasn't applied. But the Captain's Circle coordinator got us fixed up and we got everything we'd qualified for. Now we're working on getting to that next level!!

  5. Sitka is a wonderful stop! We've done every itinerary available in Alaska. Can't really count the number of times we've done Alaska (we did 8 weeks on 3 different occasions last summer). It's our favorite. We are elite with Princess and use them 99% of the time, but Holland America has a MARVELOUS 14-day round trip out of Seattle that visits Sitka, Kodiak Island, Homer, & Icy Strait Point -- in addition to the standard Ketchikan, Hubbard, Tracy Arms & Juneau. It goes to Victoria BC for the "foreign" port--lovely place to see--beautiful gardens. It also docks in Anchorage itself--not Whittier or Seward, but Anchorage! They use smaller ships for this itinerary. LOVE it and highly recommend you try that itinerary at least once if you really enjoy Alaska.
