  1. For longer cruises we book a sky suite and love Luminae (and the other suite perks). After dining in Luminae we were worried that we would be disappointed with Blu on our next cruise which was shorter. Fortunately we continued to be veryhappy with Blu. We have a 13 night Barcelona cruise in September and are looking forward to Luminae again but the cruise after that will be shorter and in Aqua.

  2. We like a glass of wine late afternoon/early evening in our cabin (and maybe another after dinner) and we also like it in a nicer glass than is used in the bars. Would our butler (sky suite) be able to provide better glasses?

  3. We (two couples) reserved Alcoves for two of our three sea days in early February prior to boarding the Reflection. They were completely booked for the third sea day. I would definitely book ahead of time. Our attendant brought fruit late morning and cheese/crackers mid afternoon. We also ordered Bloody Mary's one morning and frozen drinks and mojitos one afternoon. The first sea day was very windy so the awning couldn't be put up but was used on the second sea day. It just depends on the weather. I think they are better suited for two or three people. Although there is seating for four, you can't spread out and get comfortable and there is only one lounge chair. If were just my husband and myself we would book one again but wouldn't book with others.

  4. We were aboard the Reflection in late January and spent much of our time in the Solarium. It is very peaceful and quite, a perfect place to read or take a nap. We tried to avoid choosing lounge chairs near the Aqua Spa Cafe. We never had a problem finding at least two and usually four chairs together. The entire area is enclosed and a very comfortable temperature. It is not an area to sunbathe if you are looking to get a tan. The Reflection is wonderful ship!

  5. My husband and I and another couple reserved (ahead of time through our TA) an Alcove for the first and last sea day aboard the Reflection in late January. All were booked both days. We tried to reserve one for another sea day (ahead of time) but they were all booked. The first day was too windy to use the canopy so we didn't spend much time up there. The second day we enjoyed it although the seating is not very comfortable especially if you are not sitting in one of the chairs. Even with the canopy up some of the seating will get a lot of sun. There is not seating to accommodate more than 4 people at once. A chaise lounge would have been nice. Having said all this we are traveling with the same couple next September and may reserve one again. We mostly enjoyed time in the Solarium!

  6. We received ours almost two months after ordering and one day before our flight to the port. By then I had already printed them. Our other three Celebrity cruises we received them weeks in advance. It's nice to have them but it wasn't a big deal to us if we didn't.

  7. My husband and I returned Monday from 10 nights aboard the Reflection. We booked a Sky Suite GTY two months prior to sailing date. We received a S2 and were happy with it and thought we got a good value. On the first day of the cruise we became friendly with another couple, first time on Celebrity (one prior cruise on RC). They had booked a regular veranda cabin but were contacted two days prior to embarkation and were offered an upgrade for $500 each to a Celebrity Suite. I am very confused as to how Celebrity decides who to offer upgrades to. While I am not Elite (after our Caribbean cruise in January) I would have expected that someone with some type of status would have been offered the upgrade first. It really bothers my husband who is at the highest level with Delta and Marriott and enjoys the perk of being frequently upgraded. Is there a rhyme or reason as to how upgrades are doled out?

  8. Last week I begged the doctor on the Reflection (Neill, I believe) for an antibiotic and he wouldn't give me one. My throat and neck were so sore it was very painful to swallow much less enjoy the wonderful food being served or enjoy my beverage package. This went on for three days and was not getting better. He said his guidelines specified he had to wait seven days. It was the first time in 23 years I had been sick or taken an antibiotic. The next morning in Rhodes we were able to buy a Z-pack at a pharmacy in Old Town. By dinner time I was a little better and able to eat something beside risotto, within 24 hours could actually enjoy a glass of wine and by the third day almost 100%. I can't believe this doctor was receiving a commission on prescriptions. He was useless as far I was concerned! After months of planning, not to mention the expense, had I not been able to get the z-pack it would have completely ruined our much anticipated trip. This should have been taken into consideration. I'll never travel again without an antibiotic.

  9. My husband and are on the Eclipse in December - celebrating our 20th anniversary and our first Celebrity cruise. We currently are booked in a C2 on the "hump". I am thinking about changing to a suite, but the only thing left are sky suites on deck 12 under the ocean view cafe. I've always stayed between stateroom decks so I'm not sure if the upgrade to suite would be worth losing the hump balcony and locations between stateroom decks. I've read mixed reviews about the noise level below the ocean view cafe. We are traveling without kids so I don't want to be awakened early by serving carts and chairs scraping. Also how does Luminae compare to the main dining room? We will be eating specialty restaurants several nights, but do have a few nights where we will be eating in the main dining room. Anyone whose stayed in the sky suites on deck 12 recently have any thoughts?

We returned yesterday from ten days aboard the Reflection in a Sky Suite (2134), deck 12, under Oceanview Cafe. We NEVER heard ANY noise while in the cabin, even if the door to the veranda was open. The ONLY time we heard chairs or carts was if we were on our veranda for a very early morning breakfast. We commented several times about how well the cabins were sound proofed. (This is the cabin we were assigned through a Suite Guarantee booking.)

  10. We have just booked our first suite[emoji106]. How does Luminae work? Do you need reservations, or just go when you like. Will they have tables around 7 pm when everyone wants to eat? Thanks.

We returned yesterday from 10 days aboard the Reflection dining in Luminae seven evenings. Natalie (front deck at Luminae) is wonderful and helped us with reservations ahead of time (for Luminae as well as specialty restaurants) but we changed those times as necessary. Only once (second formal night when many people were working around 8:45 and 10:45 showtimes) could we not get the specific time requested but were accommodated within 30 minutes of the requested time. I am sure our desired time would have been available if we had requested earlier in the cruise rather than the night before.) We usually had a table by the window when we had made a reservation early in the cruise. You shouldn't have any problem getting a table at 7 pm or any other time for that matter even if you don't make a reservation.
