We have taken AKRR train. We have also done it by coach (part of a Seward boat package). For next southbound cruise, I guess it will depend on what we decide to do in Seward prior to boarding ship and what time we need to be there. We enjoyed the train ride better.

Do you need to make reservation for the AKRR train or buy the ticket at the station ?

On the Reflection prices were reduced by 20% , still a lot of S-1 empty

what surprised me was that some people were able to upgraded from inside to DV for a minimum amount but a lot of people are still have not moved

Maybe a lot of people still dont know about the move up process

I have been on so many suites that Luminae and  Retreat does interest me any more.

The suite life is no more the same as the old day.

I have not personally seen the minimum dropped but did hear from a frequent X cruiser that it did happen on a cruise they were booked on.

Yes I am at the Edge now.dues to so many vacant suite cabins still available. They lower the bid from 1750 to 1360

I still not hook with that price so I didn’t bid.

when I am on board the 1st day they offered 100 per day per person for any available Sky suites.

Jim, not sure if you want the drive but have you tried Orlando or Tampa? The drive from Orlando to FLL is not bad going down the turnpike.

Why Orlando ? Don’t you think PBI is much much closer ?

I have no problem driving on 95 to the beach near Miami today.

Jim if you ever need help to Fort Lauderdale from PBI please don’t hesitate to let me know.I can give you a ride.

    Beautiful beach day today.

But the ships are back to full.  So they may have alienated some cruisers but gained new ones probably more since they have more ships to fill now.  The argument is since you don’t like it must mean all must not like it.  I personally don’t like the ships they use for the Galapagos, I guess I should hate and never sail with celebrity again  As I said before they do have ships that have traditional balconies. They actually have 8 of them. Only 3 e class right now with 2 more coming.  If it was not popular they would not have kept building them. From talking to freinds who went on a few of the e class the shows for Eden are standing room only. The restaurant is full and sold out every night.  To me they are still going after the same demographic and age range.  Peoples tastes change so they adapted to the more broader instead of just doing the same old thing and only catering to a smaller population.

Did you check the occupancy of transatlantic on April 17 on Edge ?

    it is only HALF FULL.

I have never seen a promotion bids before.

Celebrity lower the bids amount again saying that it’s a promotion.

I believed there are not many bids on the high prices

I was on the Silhouettes in October.  They have changed the recipe for the Old Fashion, but I still enjoyed it.

I am fairly certain that the Celebrity Ten is the only drink that is the original recipe.

We always  enjoy the WCB.  It has become much more popular.

Yes it has become very popular on Beyond.

You may hard to find a seat.

  8. I was on Beyond on three different sailing.

Two of the three sailing I can hear the creaking noice.

On my last sailing I was right below the 1st sailing cabin.

I could hear the creaking noise even I was below that cabin.

I do hope there is a thread that have a list of creaking cabins on Beyond so future cruisers could avoid those cabins.

    The cabins I was in 11100 ( CS ) 8259 ( IV)  both creaking. 10100 (AQ S ) quiet cabin.

I have decided to cancel my Transatlantic on Beyond and move to Edge.

We did speak with guest relations.  And let me preface this by saying I feel terrible for complaining and never have complained about cabin noise before nor asked to have our cabin switched.  We have been on over 20 different ships, some old some new, in all kinds of weather, and never experienced anything like this before.  My wife said last night was the worst night she has had on a cruise ship, and she's had well over 100 nights.  Guest relations said they reported to maintenance to better secure the life boats.  I am skeptical anything can be done.  We'll see what tonight brings.  I'll report back.

You not the only one have this issue.

I have been on Beyond for a month.

Two of my sailing I did had creaking sound in my cabin all day long.

It was so unbearable that on one sailing I had to wear EAR PLUG when I went to bed.

I have decided to cancel my April sailing on Beyond and move the booking to another transatlantic.

Trust me I have many sailings with Celebrity, been on many rough sea.

Just got off Beyond...love the ship, food was good , staff was great....but did not enjoy the infinite balcony.  Enough that I won't buy that type of cabin again

Celebrity did it on purpose because they want us to book a suite to have a balcony unless you can grab an aft cabin.

We flew to Rome on Oct 15/16 for our first European and Celebrity cruise. Itleft out on the 17th we had B2B cruises booked in a Retreat room we were so excited and it once we boarded we were not disappointed, it was fantastic. Our butler Albert was there for every need, Nancy our room gal was wonderful. We were in sky suite 8206 perfectly located . The Luminae was so great we loved eating there along with all the specialty restaurants. It was like my 30 something cruise and Joyce, my partner 12th or so but all the stops were just awesome. The Apex is as great a ship we have ever sailed just the perfect size . If I could sail this size ship every cruise I would .

Everything was going great UNTIL I woke up on our what was supposed to be our first sea day back with chest pains . I sat there for a minute BTW NO history ever of heart problems. I am a stage 4 colon cancer survivor of about 18 years. We are both widowed and have lost our spouses so we know what it is to face these things. So I am getting worse Joyce calls 911. They take me to medical. I won’t bore u with all the medical but I ended up staying there for the last 2 days . Their reading was I needed immediate angioplasty once I got off the ship between 48-72 hours of my presumed heart attack. They assured me they were in contact with the “hospital “ and a cardiologist.

Once in port of Civitavecchia we were taken by ambulance and were told we couldn’t take but 2 bags so somewhere we have 3 bags of luggage missing somewhere , which is now like finding Waldo . Anyway we are taken to the port hospital and we pull in and nothing, nobody was expecting us, the hospital was filthy, one nurse that I saw for like 5 minutes spoke broken English they ran a couple of test a Dr looks at me and says NO Angioplasty. They stick me in a hallway for 5 hours. Me not being a one that takes BS finally loses my temper just says BS on all This and says I’m leaving. They sent a guy supposedly a to help but basically all he wanted was to make sure we paid our bill $1200 . We can’t get back on the ship, Joyce contacts  a celebrity rep at the port who says he’ll call us right back and never did.

The liaison  arranges our transportation to Rome for the Bargain price of $230 euros.. it cost me $130 in a private van to get there . We have no place to stay . I go back to the Hotel we left . Sold out they send me down the street. One room left he says he can let me have it for $539 euros which I know is like 200 more than it’s worth on what I paid when came but I’m tired so whatever. So we stay 2 more days, hire a private doctor for 300 euros to clear me for flying and prescribed a nitro patch in case I needed it, flew home and now I’m dealing with insurance…..Oh on the ship customer service told my we HAD NO insurance. They said what I bought only covered canceled cruise which I knew was totally BS. I always take cruise insurance which I know covers medical. So now about 20k later the insurance is like a total PITA . I have called them 3 times they won’t email the forms I need . I used to be a TA so it’s not like I am clueless on how to do these things . It’s just frustrating dealing with what was supposed to be the best cruise of our life.

Oh BTW I did have another heart attack after I got home last Friday had a 100% blocked artery , I shutter to think what would have happened if I had to have surgery In Italy . The Dr on ship were right but they basically just get you off so they don’t have to deal with it. I do believe someone was looking out for us got us home and now I’m recuperating here . Dealing with the aftermath. Just never ever get sick outsiders the USA .LOL . Even our concierge at the hotel told us it wouldn’t be wise to go to. Rome hospital unless I was having some BAD symptoms.  . Sorry so LONG everyone .But stay well & happy sailing.

I never leave home without Med-Jet and GeoBlue.

Trust me I have used both.

The growing group of new Zeniths appear to be Blue Chip members who get comp cruises as well as the points. At some point, it might have arrived, the “top cruiser” will be Suite guests who do not pay for the cruise. Have absolutely no problem with this. X can do whatever they want.

    I agree with you 100%

A friend of mine in AMETHYST TIER received many free cruises from Blue Chip Club.He will be on a Free cruise at the end of the month after his reposition cruise from NYC.

He told me he will be Zeniths with 5or 6 more cruises.

In future the Zenith club will be full of cruisers from Blue Chip Club and also from the TA groups.

I think someone is confused.  Do you have your original document with your bid offer?  And did you get a revised invoice.

The location of your upgraded cabin is totally within the guidelines of the move up program.

i wonder if you possible bid more than you remember, but the e mail will be clear.  You should be able to easily get the correct amount adjusted.

I have never heard of anyone else being charged more that what they have bid.

Yes they charged me the gratuity.

    That is $21.00 x 9=$189.00

For solo passengers who pay the 200% single supplement I believe they allow 1 guest in Luminae for suites and Blu for AQ.  I've certainly heard of it being done on multiple occasions.   It probably is still at the discretion of the Matre'd.    The recent zero single supplement sailings I also heard it was not allowed.

It all depends who in charge.

I am the one pointing out that the experience on E class is much better in the suites.  Suites have real balconies,  the Retreat with a forward looking view, and a more quiet experience in the Retreat.  These are all items that you would have on an S class ship sailing in non-suites but you do not have on an E class ship.  On E class they have taken quite a few luxuries away from the non-suite guests that are available on S class.  If I ever did sail E class again it would have to be in a suite.

Regarding the service,  the suites always get the best servers.  On a short staffed ship, the non-suite guests will be the first to notice.  It is rather disappointing that the ships are short staffed.

Also it has been my experience sailing on the Edge pre-Covid with full staffing that in the Martini Bar it took too long to get a drink when compared with every other cruise I have ever been on.  So my point was the E class had slow service anyways in some venues.  I have heard very few complaints about the Retreat on E class.

You have brought up all my points .

I have been a suite and a non suite on Beyond.

As is the useless “table”. So much for eating anything on the balcony. The room “table” is not much better. It was our only complaint on Edge and Apex. The Edge table was the worst. We mentioned it on the survey, not much else one can do. Can someone bring Kelly Hoppen on the Equinox balcony —— please?

    mac_tlc

Well Celebrity give you a nice table on the balcony if you sail in CS cabin and above.

Celebrity did that on purpose and there is nothing Kelly Hoppen can do about it.

Non suite for us but this type service is to be expected??  Sorry but no.

I have been to suite and non suite.

It seems Celebrity have gone back to the system like Titanic..

Do hope the ship won’t sink.
