Maybe tipping is different in Canada .. It could be ;)
Actually Im Canadian and we usually leave 20% as most Canadians ;-)

OMG 1.00$ seriously?! I would be embarrassed to leave so little! We usually leave at least 10.00$

Great review thanks! At Costa Maya do you need to book a day pass at a hotel to go on the beach or its public in Mahahual?
-
I waited a few weeks then I sent them another message saying if i don't get a response I'm booking elsewhere and they responded quickly but not so sure I want to go there now.

San Miguel IS the town on Cozumel, where the main square, shopping and restaurants are.
Two piers are 5 minutes south by taxi. Third pier, Punta Langosta, is right in town.
Oh okay thanks but is there anything further out with restaurants and shops?
-
Has anyone been there? How far is it from the cruise pier and what is there to do?

We have cruised lots of Caribbean cruises, now the wife and I are looking for a change and its a short flight to Miami from home so we are thinking Panama canal but not so sure the locks and all that interest us. Convince us why we should try a Panama canal cruise?

Hi, new to Princess and I don't like to dress too formal and wear a tie or jacket on vacation when I do this daily for work so can I get away with a nice dress shirt and nice dress pants for formal nights and other nights around the ship? Also can my wife get away with a nice blouse and skirt? Thanks.

Has anyone done this excursion? Worth it yes or no and what did you see and do? Thank you

The fare just lowered ...of course...after final and we were in a forward deluxe balcony L102 on the Royal so they upgraded us after I called and asked me if I wanted R734 Aft premium deluxe balcony and i said yes but did I choose a better room?

Pembroke Pines is a pretty area with lots and lots of shopping and great restaurants. We have family that lives there and we always stay there lots to see and do just a short drive from there.
-
Wow Im shocked they have no coffee machines in the cabins! Is room service free?

New to Princess, does Princess have coffee machines in their deluxe balcony rooms on the Royal and also can we bring our own wine and bottled water onboard?

Il Lugano is very nice. My friend stayed there and I was in her room. It isn't close to the port or airport though, so expect $35-50 taxi fare depending upon traffic.
Is that the price to the port? I read its 13 miles from the airport and figured its not that far from the pier and we guessed about 20$ which is not so bad. I have been reading the reviews and most hotels near the pier are not the best, dirty and some have roaches....ugh we are looking for a decent CLEAN hotel close to amenities and this one got very good ratings. I think I would rather pay more for a taxi than risk staying in a dirty hotel.
-
I haven't stayed there but it gets excellent reviews from back when it was the Il Lugano through the change (about a year ago if I remember correctly) to a Residence Inn. You can ask this question on the Florida Departures Board and will probably get responses from cruisers who have stayed there. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495
The location is great and, to me at least, feels much more like Fort Lauderdale and Florida (as opposed to much of the 17th Street corridor which is basically strip malls with scattered hotels). It is right on the Intracoastal and within a couple of short blocks to the beach with shops and restaurants nearby.
Thank you! Thats what we are looking for!

Has anyone stayed here... Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal/Il Lugano? The reviews are better than the ones on 17th street.
-
Yes we can cancel, thanks :-)
-
We booked the Marriott residence Inn and its in Dania and now I see its not close to anything for tourists but its close to the Fort Lauderdale airport and cruise pier have we made a mistake? Is there another hotel close to the pier with shopping and restaurants?

Our final payment is approaching rather quickly and this will be our very first Princess cruise...not out first cruise but with this company yes and we are a bit anxious and nervous but also very excited to try a new line! Royal Princess to us looks like a beautiful ship and the ports as well but the reviews not so much! All though we don't generally let others reviews sway our decision to try a ship this time its bugging us just a little because there are so many negative reviews about the Royal! I would love to hear all the positive about the Royal not the negative,Thanks!
-
So if we pay at final payment date and the price drops what does Princess do? Do they offer any OBC or refund? I know other lines do that we've cruised with have given us extra OBC.
-
Hi, we are presently booked on a spring sailing and I have seen that the ship is half full not selling fast on Cruise Fish, so my question is we are almost due to pay it in full now should we cancel and hope for last minute deals and wait or will they honour price drops after final payment and what will they do if its dropped by a few hundred? Cabin does not matter to us so this is our first Princess cruise and with other lines we have cruised with we tend to book last minute deals and get excellent prices.

Thank you both for your quick replies!
Haven't cruised Royal in over a decade!

Looking at booking one of the Oasis class ships for Spring break! We have not cruised RCCL in over 10 years but we have been cruising on other lines. The Oasis class ships look huge with lots to see and do, we are early 50's no children so tell me which ship should we choose? Also will it feel crowded at spring time?
