  1. Since a Sunday flight out of FLL would been more costly, my DH and I decided to stay in a hotel 1 night post cruise. Check-in isn't until 3 pm, and we are looking to kill some time. We could pay $30 for early check-in but hey, who really wants to hang out at the hotel all day?

I'm trying to weigh in the options since we'll have luggage with us -

    1. I saw a recent review that Carrie B cruises lets you have your luggage with you, so we could disembark at around 9 and hopefully take a cab/uber car to make it at the 11 am tour then head to our hotel, drop off luggage and grab lunch nearby.

    2. Take one of the ship excursions and then get dropped off at FLL. Our hotel has airport pick-up so we could catch one of their vans there. It doesn't say on the excursions site, but will Celebrity drop you off at your hotel if requested?

We try to avoid driving while on vacation (we both find it stressful) so renting a car is out for us. Does anyone have ideas on anything else we could do?

  2. Has anyone used this tour company? I haven't seen much about on this forum, but the tripadvisor reviews look promising. They have some unique options other than the typical Dunn's river or Blue Hole like every other operator offers.

I'm looking at the enhanted garden excursion possibly with pickup from Falmouth. Does anyone know if they includes beverages in the vehicle and/or have a lunch option after the tour? I suspect we'll be hungry after 3 1/2 hours and would love to try something other than Margaritaville at port.

I plan to contact them before I book but wanted to see what others have experienced. Thanks in advance!

  3. It looks like Clark's renamed their site to AMVIVO. I was a bit confused, because I looked them up a couple months ago when they were still Clark's tour. Now the site has been re-branded.

I assume you did the tour that includes Seven Mile Beach? I'm trying to figure out the main differences. One is called a bar hopping tour for 5 hours for $59 and the other has Seven Mile Beach in the description for $39 and for 4 hours. I'm thinking the bar hop is out the question unless I'm ready to miss the ship

  4. Has anyone tried Clark's Tour? I am considering either the bar hopping or the rum distillery and brewery tour plus seven mile beach. These are the tours bookable through Viator. Their reviews seem positive, but I'm not seeing a lot from cruise passengers. Also, it seems they only have tour times at 9 am, 11 am or 1 pm. I'm going to be arriving on Celebrity Silhouette at 10:30 am and departure is at 6:30 pm. I'm not sure if I can swing the 11 am time since this is a tender port, so I'm thinking 1 pm is the best option. The tour is for 4 hours, so I think I'll have enough time to not miss the ship? If anyone can share their experiences, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

  5. You could attend one of the tastings. I did this before the UBP was a promo. I think it's like $15. With the Margarita tasting, I think it was like 5 or 6 different types and the host was very generous with the tequila. I remember nearly stumbling and getting lost in the Manhatten room for supper right after LOL

As mentioned beer buckets are a great deal as well.

Also, I'm not sure if this is still a thing, but you could request a bar setup. It's something you order before your cruise with the ship coordinator. Basically you order a bottle of liquor and it includes 3 mixers and 3 garnishes. The mixers and garnishes are nothing to brag about (like think 3 cans of a soda, a couple lemon slices), so you may want to pack powdered drink mix because what they give you won't be enough to cover a whole bottle if you do use it all.

  6. I haven't been paying attention to the Caribbean prices, but it does seem like Bermuda prices are going up. Maybe there's no correlation, but I believe Bermuda is still Zika free. I've been to Bermuda three years in a row, and this year is the first time I haven't been able to get a free upgrade. Prices aren't dropping like they normally do. This could be because of FDR's pricing with the "free offers" though. Food for thought at least.

  7. I've never sailed on Anthem before, but I have been on the Breakaway in January and the outside areas are pretty much unusable or closed the first couple days at beginning and the last couple days coming back. I still scratch my head at why they didn't put indoor pool areas (for non-Haven guests anyway) for a ship that is exclusively out of NYC. Also, because of this, the Atrium area is a nightmare due to chair hogs. Such a poor ship design. Great ship in spring, summer, fall, but fails in winter.

  8. Your travel agent can tell you exactly which rooms are unoccupied. Some of us are very very good at what we do. :-)

Keywords "very very good" My TA is through a credit card and depending on who I get, they play dumb and act like those are the only cabins available and go on to argue with me. I call later and I get a good one more than willing to look up a cabin for me. Is it the TA online system for NCL really that difficult to use? Yep, I know I should switch to another TA but the gift certificates are just too good to turn down.

  9. I can only speak to cabin 9138. The bed is on the right side of the cabin. If you are facing the head of the bed the left side is next to the balcony doors. Unfortunately Celebrity deck plans do not show bed placement like Norwegians do. We are on the summit again in December and can try to get more info then. A TA may have more info about specific layouts. When are you looking at the Summit?

In November 2017. I know it's probably crazy to worry about it this far in advance, but the sweet 16 cabins are still available. I'm way too much of a planner for my own good :D

  10. It's because room lighting is an issue and drapery in cabins doesn't always cover all the light. Difficult when you want to sleep in on vacation! We've gone through a dozen sleep masks and each of them have something uncomfortable about them (too tight, too hot, etc.). I've brought clothes pins before to help cover the drapes better, and while they help, it's not a good band-aid.

So yes, a bed positioned on the left side of cabin would be ideal. I'm in cabin 6031 at the moment after switching from 6016 with concerns over the steel enclosures on the balcony. I would have stuck to it, but then I noticed that the cabin search is working again on Celebrity's site (or maybe they finally released the other cabins?)

I thought maybe the placement alternates, so when I saw that 6035 with the bed on the right, maybe 6031 does too? Now I'm worried I made a bad choice. On the port side, 6027 is available. On the starboard - 6028, 6026, 6024, 6022. Do any of these cabins have the bed on the left side of the cabin? Pictures would be helpful.

  11. Time for a new husband? Go for a inside, no balcony to worry about. Check the M class cabin info above.

Haha funny, except when your DH has a sleeping disorder, bed placement can be important. Helpful information please.

  12. Does anyone know if there's a certain pattern to how beds are place on M class ships? Basically, my DH prefers to sleep on the left side of the bed and not face the balcony. I'm trying to fit the perfect bed setup on the Summit and getting a bit frustrated with the deck plans.
