When you post the Cruise compass, you also include a Port Guide. Do you have to go to Shore Excursions to get that?
-
It possibly will depend on if you have to go through security in CDG. If you buy in MAN you may be able to get it put in a security sealed plastic bag, though even that may not be sufficient. Alternative would be to buy it at CDG.

We disembarked in Feb from Ovation of the Seas. On the cruise, from Sydney, we contracted Covid half way through so were confined to stateroom. On disembarkation day we were collected from our stateroom, taken to the forward elevators, taken down to deck 2 (or was it 3) went ashore from that exit. Told our luggage was a few yards away and the gate is over there. No customs or immigration, we were on the Dock. Our son who was also on board took another 30 minutes to disembark! However, not the best way to disembark.

Just got off Ovation OTS this morning in Sydney. Due to weather, cyclone gabrielle, we lost two ports and had three sea days befor arriving here. I tested positive for Covid on the morning of 1st sea day and was quarantined for rest of trip, normally 5 days. I received medication, premium wifi and room service all complimentary. My wife was tested, negative, and told she could continue to go around the ship, into restaurants but had to take food to eat in stateroom, seems somewhat illogical but there you are.
Following day she tested positive and got the same benefits but also quarantined. Fortunately our son was in the next stateroom so was able to bring us the odd beverage and other foodstuffs if we felt like them. He was also able to make use of the Diamond drink vouchers on our seapass cards, which he doesnt have. RCI enquired after our health regularly and couldnt have been more helpful, just wish we hadnt gone down with it at all. Our bags went the night before, at 0830 we were collected from stateroom and taken out through crew exit, picked up our bags at the side of the ship and were told to exit through that gate over there, no immigration or customs. I've never got off a ship so quickly and we were off the ship before my son!

We are British and we will be cruising with our son and his partner when we holiday in Sydney, if we book through an AUS TA will the price for all of us include Gratuities?
Meant to add our son and partner are Australian citizens.

Yes if your not Australian and have not booked your cruise on the Australian website. You will get charged your gratuities daily like normal. But the prices on board for drinks etc will include the tip in the price. As New Zealand and Australia have the same law about truth in sale price.

I priced a Caribbean cruise in October 2020 on the 18th November and then again on the 20th, after the introduction of the new pricing, same cabin, same perks £300 pp more!!

It is built into the price...
" Sail Plus costs £25 per day if the two chosen extras do not include drinks or £35 per day if drinks are included as part of the two chosen perks. "
The $14 upcharge only came into effect for bookings after 10/10/19, seems strange to bring in a new way of doing it so soon, but then most things X do can be strange.
-
Do you still need to pay the $14pppd upcharge if you have a drinks package?

If you are going to be driving down towards Lands End be sure to detour off to Porthcurno where you can visit the Telegraph Museum and also the Minack Theatre. Even if you cannot take in a play the views of the theatre and Porthcurno beach are spectacular.
Will follow your trip as we will be on Silhouette in Feb 2021.

Many thanks for all your replies, particularly 138east and meadowlander, think it will be the Taxi Despatcher. Need to look for a sim only deal (for a month) that allows tethering and use in Canada, anyone have any tips on good deal and where can be purchased.
Regards,

We will be returning to Cape Liberty on the Summit on 22nd September. We are then going on to Weehaken for a few nights and the HBLR seems to go from just outside the port to right where we need to be. I think from the ship to the 34th Street or 45th Street stations is a bit too far to walk, may even be restictions in doing that, what options do we have in getting to the station? Is there any form of Port transportation. I am thinking cab drivers would not be too pleased with a fare that only gets just outside the port gates. Any advice welcomed.

Ship: Constellation
Cabin: 9020
Deck: 9
Class: 2B Balcony
Area/Location: Forward-Starboard
Bed Location / View: Sea-facing; Wall-facing
Quiet? Yes
Balcony/Porthole View: Good
Balcony/Porthole Size: Standard
Wind a Problem? No (if no, use comments)
Soot a Problem? No
Problems / Comments: The balcony has an overhang from the deck above so you dont get the sun on the balcony until it is quite low in the sky. The hair salon is above and it seems that at about 07:30 the staff come in (with hob-nailed boots on) so there can be some noise early in morning.

Have X changed the values of drinks on the Classic Package?
In a post yesterday menus showed this package allowing beers upto $6, other drinks upto $8 and wine upto $9.
I purchased this package for my November cruise last month and on the X website where it says "Add to Cart" the description of the package is
"Classic Package
Throughout your cruise, choose from beers, spirits, cocktails, liqueurs, frozen drinks, and wine-by-the-glass up to $9 per serving. Plus, with purchase of this Classic Package, you can enjoy a 15% discount on all wines by the bottle purchased on board, even our prized Reserve Wine list and Rare Wine list."
Now I would read this as meaning all the items mentioned are to a value of $9 but the way X chop and change things and the state of their website it could mean anything.
Does anyone know categorically what the current allowances are?

Just got mail from my travel agent saying the Constellation is now not having 2 nights docked in Abu Dhabi and is now stopping in Dubai .
Really gutted as took this trip specifically to see the qualifying and the race .
Hi Hobgoblin,
Suggest you, and any others going to the GP, email X asking them "to confirm that as a result of the Itinerary Change they will be providing, for all passengers who require it, COMPLEMENTARY transportation from the Constellation in Dubai to the Yas Marina circuit for the GP Qualifying and return to Dubai after the post-Qualifying concert".
I also have two-day tickets for the GP and have sent X an email
The silver lining is that it does give more time to get to the circuit for Qualifying, join the roll call where there may be further info on this in the future.
Rgds,

I was on the Mayan Mystique's cruise in January this year and took aboard several 1.5 litre bottles of wine, some to drink in the stateroom and some to take to dinner. We were only charged $25 corkage fee even though it was effectively two standard bottles of wine and no service charge on top. As there were four of us we usually managed to finish the bottle but on the occasion we didn't it was waiting for us the next evening.
I have done the same on HAL previously but I believe they now state 750ml size bottles so presumably they have closed this loophole.

Many thanks roothy123 and LHT28, very useful info, should make the process smoother knowing what I am supposed to do. Will probably try at about 8am so not too long after the window opens. We are in B1 stateroom so hopefully still a good choice of reservation times available.
-
Why can't they make them on their own? As far as I know ANY booked passenger can make dining reservations on their own. They just have to have available their booking number.
As to adding them to your reservation, it depends on if you are both in the same category or not. For example, if you are in a higher category that can book reservations before they are eligible, just make your reservation. Don't say "yes" to sharing because then they will pair you up with strangers.
When they are eligible you can add them to your reservation. If you are in the same category, then you can just ask for a table for 4 when you book the reservations. You will need their booking number.
If this is puzzling to you, email me and I'll say more ...
Mura
They are in the same category, I was intending to make the reservation online so is it possible to request a table for four and then add them to it, I have their booking details. I assume the window opens at midnight EST so that will be 5am for me.
-
After you choose the Restaurant, the next screen shows the days which still have open Reservation times, select a Day (Date) and the available Time-Slots will appear.
After selecting the Slot, you will be prompted to choose a "sharing" or "non sharing" reservation.
Please note that nothing is "set" until you submit your request and get a confirmation from the Line. Don't dawdle thinking that a half made reservation will hold your place.
This is our first O cruise and we are travelling with friends who are on a different booking reference, when I make our reservations in five days time I want to book a table and then add our friends to it (they realise they won't be able to make reservations of their own). How does that work, do I select "sharing" or "non-sharing"?

Can you please email your IP address to me at mmoore@oceaniacruises.com?
Hi Mike,
Tried mailing you at that address but I get a "Address Rejected" delivery failure notice.
You replied to my previous post and have since cured the problem by deleting my browser data.

-
Still the same for me, get a flash of the page and then a blank screen.
