  1. Cruise many times on Royal but decided to try carnival this time on Valor in April. When I spoke, with customer service to inquire about having a table for 2 for dinner and if she could place that in dining request - I was told they only have table for 2 on anytime dining. Is this correct? We are currently on late seating because anytime and early seating are booked. Wait listed for the other,

. ( group seating is ok but would prefer not this time). Last 2 Cruises were with family and wanted to enjoy company of just my husband this time,

  2. Carnival representative told me to keep checking back for availability on FTTF . Currently it is sold out . We just booked the cruise . Just wondering, from seasoned carnival cruisers. Do they typically open availability for that package up again.

  3. This will be our first time in Nassau- can someone share approx. how far the straw market is from the port. Is it within walking distance? Are the side walks relatively smooth? My father is in a scooter .

    Thanks in advance

  4. looking for recommendations for things my parents can do while in Nassau. My father will be in a scooter. So Im guessing accessibility will be somewhat limited. Are there shops in the port for them look around? Or a riding tour?

  5. A tip for Galveston- when you disembark- have someone in your party go wait in porter line and others go to numbered area where your luggage is and start looking for luggage so you can point to it when porter arrives. We have cruised out of Galveston 5 times and always in our car headed home by 930. There are different lines for self carry and porter assist . The porter assist goes much faster

  6. We are traveling to Nassau with Royal Caribbean in December . I keep getting conflicting information. I have called 5 times and had a different response each time. We are using Marriott points to get a room at Atlantis. When we called the reservation number - was told it was a 2 night minimum. Online www could book a 1 night stay. Is the resort fee per person @49.99 plus tax ? Or is it per room? We have been told both- and someone mentioned 25.00 resort fee but an 18.25 misc tax. Can someone help that has been there recently with what the additional fees are? Thanks so much

  7. We have cruised out of Galveston 5 times because we live only a few hours away. We may be the minority because I’m looking forward to visiting Bahamas. Galveston basically has 2 routes so we actually switched our 5 day cruise On vision to The 7 day liberty of sea for only a slight increase today . We opted for guaranteed balcony due to significant savings and if we don’t like the port- we are happy to spend time on the ship.

  8. :(

In the vein of tipping I will have the beverage package for the first time on my next cruise. I usually always tip the bartender on top of the 18% that is added onto the bill so with the beverage package do you usually slip the bartender an extra dollar or two when you order since there isn't always a slip to sign?

we generally give an extra dollar a drink- but many times we never had receipts to sign with the drink package. Second cruise and forward, I always brought ones. I was surprised to hear on another post that if extra cash is given to bartenders, wait staff etc that it is pooled and divided. Not sure if its accurate or not however, I am disappointed to hear that - if it is true. I realize the pre paid tips are divided but feel if I am giving over and above - it should be to this particular employee.

  9. Received a phone call many months ago , from a man stating he was the Personal cruise planner assigned to me. fast forward Currently have a 5 day cruise booked however I have been shopping a 7 cruise in Dec hoping the rates drop a little more and may switch. ( I have been holding off paying for it however my window of opportunity is almost up) I never call him directly because he comes across as a loud & obnoxious . It seems whenever, I call royal directly or look online- I get the "call". I'm not opposed to calling someone directly however have no intention of dealing with him. Anyone else have this happen ? This will be my 6th cruise on Royal and never had an assigned cruise planner. and it seems that even if I look online and not logged in.- The planner calls me. I prefer to look and not be called . Next time he calls- I guess I will share this. Just wondered if others get a calls like this. Thanks

  10. Is there a size restriction of luggage for carry on? Daughter family will be traveling with 2 small children. and she was inquiring if there can be one regular size suitcase or is it similar to carry on bag like airline travel? Thanks in advance, I have never cruised on Disney and I clearly have forgotten what its like to travel with small children.... :;)
