  1. So I'm finally diamond and am looking forward to any perks that come with it! :)

On my next cruise, we are stopping at Labadee and I believe I read at some point there is a section of the beach for Diamond and above members (and maybe suite guests?). Would my sisters be able to come with me to that beach? We are all staying in the same cabin. Thanks in advance! :D

  2. I am also waiting to hear back after sending my request on June 25 (along with a follow up email last week). Since someone mentioned they heard back after two weeks, tomorrow is that deadline! :D Also, if the hotel wasn't available for the night we picked, would we hear back saying it's full or no?

    Thanks in advance!

    Mary :)

  3. We got extremely lucky with our fares! There was all sorts of glitches with their website this morning since they opened up the new schedule to include mid-February to May. We needed 2/13-2/20 to Fort Lauderdale and when we first looked, they were in the high $500's (with paying for baggage separately). Then the dates disappeared again. Three of us were looking at the same time and my brother in law found us a fare of $272 round trip! I had to double/triple check the dates, make sure they were nonstop, etc. and they were. We quickly booked and now those same flights are almost $700 pp! :D

  4. Here is a little background:

I've been eyeing up a cruise for February 2016 for me and my two sisters. This weekend I noticed the promo and decided to price it out. It was coming out to about $120 less per person so I put a cabin on hold. We decided to use a nextcruise certificate that we had from a few years back and I then spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to get this booked.

I released my hold to get the same cabin and he was able to get the same one. He priced it out much higher and when I told him about the promos, he checked to make sure it was a qualifying sailing and it was. Checked with resolutions and they said it would take 2-3 business days to get this resolved, which is fine except that the promo ends in 2 days. I asked if the problem was the next cruise or the promo and he said it was the promo? So right now I have a reservation using my next cruise with the wrong amount.

Does this sound right or should I give a call to see if I can get it clarified? Also, I still have the number written down which was the reservation I released earlier today to get the same cabin. That is my only hope getting the same price since I just priced it a few minutes ago, and it's a little bit higher. Is that even possible for them to access an old hold? Sorry for the rant .. just wanted to give some background. :) Any advice? Thanks in advance?

  5. keep checking all the offers to see if you can get a better deal.

Also, you can still cancel the deal you have until final payment I think.

Your bottom line number for all passengers is the important figure.

I know I can cancel mine anyway

You have to check prices for all passengers. In other words, you cannot reprice the first two passengers without repricing the 3/4 passengers.

Thank you both. That's what I figured but wanted to check with the experts. :D

  6. I have a cruise booked this coming February for me and my two sisters. We got a great deal when they were running the promo of 3-4 passengers were free. So my question is: when checking for price drops, am I checking the full cabin fare for the 3 passengers? Right now the 1st/2nd are cheaper than what we were paying but the room itself is more expensive since they are charging for the 3th/4th passenger now. Hope this makes sense :o

    Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone, I was about to book one of these rooms and then after doing some research, realized they were just added when the ship went through her refurbishment last year. Has anyone actually stayed in one? Or even on the Serenade? It does look odd on the deck plans as it stands out after replacing the library (and something else) so I'm a bit concerned about the noise level. So if you have stayed in either room, please let me know what you thought of it and if you had any pictures, that would be an extra bonus.

    Thanks in advance!

  9. EMAN 822..that was cold, pardon the pun, (sun picture). Just remember what goes around, comes around.:D:D:D:D

Oh trust me, we had such trouble getting out of New York for our cruise because of the weather. I think my picture made everyone feel better that we made it. :D And at least it made me feel better at the moment. ;)

  10. I was on the last sailing but don't think I can help with anything you are looking for. :o This was my third time on the Navigator so I didn't take tons of pictures (other than ones of the sun to send back to my friends on the East Coast during the week :D). And I didn't take my compasses home.

The ship itself looks great. I have no complaints about the ship, crew or food. Tendering in Grand Cayman was LONG. And the casino was super smoky. Those were my only two complaints of the week.

  11. Thank you so much for your review and pictures so far. We are boarding this Sunday and even though I've been on the NOS twice before, I'm just so excited to get away .. especially from this weather in New York.

I also like the new color scheme and happy the tables are gone - especially since we are in an interior cabin this time. We usually shove it in the closet for the whole cruise. :D

  12. Our waiter brought us a sampler dessert tray and everything on it was lapped up with great relish...this they got perfect! Chocolate dipping sauce with Churos, some kind of coconut flan, another pudding like concoction and some other I don't recall, but it was scrumptious. BUT, you really need the other food to be right.

:D:D Sounds amazing! I might have to give this place a shot!

Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts and pictures!

  13. Hi, we are flying into Hobby on Saturday and staying at TownePlace Suites (Marriott) in Galveston. Our cruise leaves on Sunday so when we arrive on Saturday, we would like to pick up some wine for the cruise and also stop at a pharmacy to get toiletries. I saw that a few people recommended Specs for the liquor purchases and when I do a google search, it looks like there is a Walmart (or maybe Walgreens?) nearby. Our hotel offers a shuttle within 5 miles, I believe, so my question is: once we get to Specs and are able to get some toiletries, are there any eateries nearby? According to google, it looks like there is a Quiznos and Pizza Hut really close by but we are hoping for a nicer, celebratory dinner. :D Or should we just go back to the hotel, drop off our purchases and then take the shuttle in a different direction for dinner. We have a full day to spend in Galveston but are without a car so we would like to do as much as we can. Thanks for any suggestions. :)

  14. Hi there...

I am ace1zoe2's (adult) daughter. She definitely has not abandoned you guys...she is just not crazy enough to pay the outrageous price for the WIFI onboard...I'm sure she's spending that money on better things...like wine! :)

Hang in there... I know she will update as soon as she gets free or cheap(er) WIFI. I'm looking forward to the pictures and update too.

Thanks texas.travelers! We are anxiously awaiting more pics but do hope they are enjoying themselves! :)

  15. That Marriott is the main Marriott in the middle of the airport. I'm not aware that they offer a park/fly.

We just recommended the Springhill Suites park/fly to someone else. You can also look at Country Inns and the Courtyard Elizabeth. These are a little closer to the terminals than Springhill Suites.

Please check the websites for the best deals.

    Thank you for your help.

  16. I am travelling to Texas next Saturday morning to board a cruise on the 16th. With the crazy weather we have been having lately and because we have to park at the airport anyway, we were thinking of finding a hotel nearby where we could get a shuttle and also leave the car there for the week. Our flight leaves at 6:20 a.m. so being closer to the airport is also a plus being we would have to leave much earlier and don't want to risk waking anyone in my house at 4:00 a.m.

So my question is: does anyone have any advice as to which hotel would be the best/safest to leave our car? Right now we are looking at the Marriott and Springhill Suites but are open to suggestions. Does anyone have an input on those hotels? Thanks in advance!
