Ok, thanks for info. 🙂 Guess I ll better send a couple of e-mails to MSC about both table sharing rules then. If we all want my time dining with aurea and also need premium packages we`re soon on the same price level as RCCL anyway.
I'd say just have everyone go YC. Because it is the beeeeeest.

Ok, so its not possible to contact the suite concierge/maitre in advance to make requests? As I said, im new to MSC and mostly just belive what ppl say here. Helped me a lot on the RCCL board, so thought it would here aswell 🙂
Unfortunately not. It's great once on board though, but there's no pre-cruise concierge like you get on NCL when you book a suite.
In addition, the YC Director is the Director of the YC. They're not a concierge. They're quite available to help you out with issues requiring escalations once on board though.

The comment about having sent snail mail to the YC Director makes that comment quite unbelievable.

As someone has mentioned before YC guest can dine in normal MDR with friends and family, so yes they will be eating with us aswell even if they choose YC. What details are missing? The basic question is how strickt they enforce that guests have to be on equal level on "drinks included" pr table.
That's not true. There is no table available for YC guests in the MDR.

We live in a small community in Alabama, not close to a large city. Where would you get exchange for Canadian $? Would the ship offer it?
How small a community are we talking here. Any bank would most likely offer it. Maybe not hundreds of thousands, but enough for tourist purposes.
Our town of less than 4 thousand people has a bank that has US dollars.

I think quite a few people do this.
We've spent 5 weeks in the YC on the Divina and the Seaside.
Each time as far as we're aware all cabins were booked.
However, most people seem to only use it for dining.
During the day there would be not a single other passenger but me and my wife in the lounge. Most of the time the pool area is very lightly used outside of breakfast/lunch. Everybody showed up for the Captain's cocktail though.
I'm guessing a lot of people hang out with the rest of their group outside the YC, at the pool or whatever.
I think it's great because most of the time it's like you have a private YC to yourself.

We stayed there because they offered the shuttle as well as airport pickup. When we inquired about the shuttle they told us it was full and that our package did not include the shuttle. Not sure whether it was their fault or ours but it turned out that Lyft was so cheap that we let it drop. We had been traveling around Florida for a few days and decided to just veg out in the room that night. There is a shopping center across the street with a Publix and a liquor store which supplied us with dinner and drinks. I would go back there again, but would pay more attention to whether or not the reservation included the shuttle.
Yeah, I think the problem is they have like 3 different packages for shuttles/parking.
They have a cruise package which includes 14 days parking and shuttle to the cruise terminal.
They have an airport package which includes 10 (ten) days parking and shuttle to the airport. We're actually getting this when we only have a 1 week cruise until we're back, since an uber to the port is really cheap.
And then I think they also have a package that's just parking, or one that's just shuttle. You def have to verify which package you're getting, and the names might not make things 100% clear.
-
We normally stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Miami Airport South Blue Lagoon because you can get 14 days parking included for like 50 bucks more, and that includes a cruise port shuttle as well.
( they have an airport shuttle as well )

sorry, i meant for future cruises, not current b2b.
you have to pay the one time $3.95 fee EVERY cruise for your 'free' 30 internet min?
The free minutes do not require an activation fee.
https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/how-do-i-receive-my-free-internet-minutes
I could see if I can find my bill from last year's back to backs and see if they actually didn't charge it 🙂 But at least they're not supposed to.

what do you mean re-register the acct?
you have the pay the one time $3.95 registration fee each cruise???
No.
I said you do NOT have to re-register the account.
It stays open, you don't have to activate your internet again. You don't have to pay off your balance every time etc.
All the other stuff carries over, so the free internet minutes probably do as well.
-
Might be difficult to find someone who actually had those 30 minutes left 🙂
On my B2Bs I did not have to re-register my internet account each time, I just went to the internet desk each "embarkation" day and asked them to add the 30 minutes again.
I'm sure that if you ask them at the desk they'll let you carry if forward. They've got plenty of leeway for that.

What do you mean by OBC from the Casino exactly?
Like OBC that you get when booking through the casino?
Or do you mean the OBC that you get in your cabin on arrival, that's on a card. Which say they're specifically for food/drink. ( actually they function more like they will remove up to that amount from your bill, instead of being an actual listed credit ).
-
Yup, you're agreeing with exactly what I said.Maybe in Canada but you are very wrong for the US.https://www.uspassporthelpguide.com/passport-for-convicted-felon/
And in this one and others it says Child Support only has to be in arrears $2500 not $5000.
The only _criminal convictions_ that can cause you to not be able to get a passport are international drug trafficking or treason.
Owing child support or being required to pay child support are not criminal convictions.
They said specifically that he could not get a passport due to his record.
Yes, you can be convicted of a felony for failing to pay child support. However, that conviction actually doesn't prevent you from getting a passport, it's just owing the child support that prevents you from getting a passport.

Ok, hang on, I was on your side here with the no judging. Your didn't have to provide the specifics.18ish, shooting at mailboxes, hit house, served 5 years mandatory, did his time MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO. I hope you don’t live in a glass house. But, since you did. That is not a conviction you can lose your passport over.
Again, treason or international drug trafficking are the only criminal convictions that can prevent you from getting a passport.

Central Park and the Central Park balcony is pretty much the only reason for us to book a cruise on Royal.

I also do not live in a house to do laundry. Most people do not go on a cruise to do laundry.Yet I still do it so that my wife doesn't run away in disgust and so I can keep my job.

We were on the Symphony and felt no movement. I used to sail on sailing ships, so maybe I'm a bit less sensitive to it.
When we were eating in central park I genuinely forgot we were on a ship several times and came to the startling realization that we were in the middle of the ocean.

+1Lol, I have to laugh at the judging people on this board. Why not just not respond if you don’t want to answer the question. For those with actual help, I thank you.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Forums mobile app

I think regardless of ID used they might want to check beforehand that he won't get turned around at security.
I suspect his luggage will certainly be searched.
I'm saying this because the only criminal convictions that would prevent someone from getting a passport are treason and international drug trafficking. So I'd say plan plenty of extra time for customs/security hassle.

We've done the YC five times now, Divina and Seaside. Mostly in April and once over Christmas. That sounds good. I've read some reports from MSC cruisers that mentioned how some YC guests let their children pretty much run wild in the YC area, so it was not the quiet, relaxing area they expected. Perhaps these were summer cruises. There were very few children there to begin with.
There was only one time that three children were running a little wild, and that was I a full lounge with lots of adults drinking and laughing anyway, so it didn't make much of a difference.

GSC is part of the Bahamas. However, neither the Bahamas nor Bermuda are considered a distant foreign port.Is GSC considered a "distant foreign port" for the purposes of the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886? If not, then NCL probably had to pay a hefty fine per passenger ($762) for missing Nassau. Maybe that would be why they were hesitant to provide any additional discount/refund to passengers? Is this relevant though? I didn't think this was a repositioning.

The thing is, it has nothing to do with your package. It's simply that they don't serve it there.Never considered a more traditional MDR on any cruise line where they only do wine, etc.Again, etc. Means other things. So, other things are very unlimited and can include mixed drinks.
So it's not something they need to mention in the package description, as the drinks package is based on drinks that are available I that venue. It doesn't matter if you pay for your drink or not, if it's not available it's not available.
The only line I do MDR on is NCL, and you can def get all the mixed drinks in the MDR there. So, I understand wanting a wider range of drinks. But it's the rules of that specific MDR, not the rules of the drinks package.

Nothing is ever "unlimited" on any cruise line.BUMP - I do hope that someone will get this resolved. Again, we would like to see something in the description that states this to clarify limiting this service. Personally, I believe this should not be. If you have unlimited drinks, that should be in any venue and includes the MDR.Thank you!
I would think the reasoning is pretty basic.
Drinks that are offered in that venue are included.
When you're in the YC drinks are included across the ship, but if they don't have a drink at a bar then they don't have it. It's not like you suddenly have to pay for it, they just don't have it.
I think in an effort to have a more "traditional" MDR they only do wine etc.
Or it's just that they put the bars at an inconvenient place to the MDR so it would take too long for the servers to get them.

Oh, that's a shame.
We're in an inside YC the week before that on the Meraviglia and I thought there were plenty of YC deluxe suites available that can have 4. I guess the YC Royal suite still allows for 4, but it would be cheaper to book 2 separate YC Inside cabins instead 🙂
