  1. I've been able to get drip coffee when they've had it, like on the Jewel, but I could not get any coffee on the Getaway with the UBP at the Atrium since they did not have drip. Unless I got it with booze in it, then it was covered. I'm not saying that your friends weren't able to get plain espresso shots, it just was not available under the UBP in my experience even when I got a plain Americano.

Per NCL's site regarding the UBP.

Regarding the coffee drinks, NCL only mentions "select Lavazza drinks" as being excluded.

  2. Does anyone know when the complete deck plans will be revealed? Celebrity Cruises has recently been releasing info on the Edge! Carnival has recently done the same with the new Carnival Horizon too! Why can't NCL do the same with the Bliss? There's barely any info on the Bliss, all we have to go off is some info and a lot of speculations. We only know there will be in observation lounge, which was expected since it was going to be specifically built for Alaska, as well as some entertainment options. There's so much of the ship that has yet to be announced. I hate being left to hang off the cliff. The anticipation is killing me NCL! :'):')

From what I remember, Andy Stuart said to expect more information around August. Sounds like we have another month or so of waiting...

  3. You are probably right, though the Gem out of NYC has passengers from all over the world, this country and Canada. I guess that more people would fly to Florida. Though when I've sailed out of Florida, the crowd has been more Florida based as well.. . . though still I guess it is safer to fly to Florida, in terms of weather, than to NYC as well. Perhaps in a couple of years it will head north. NYC will have the Escape after this coming winter. (Sad to loose the smaller ship, then we will have two mega ships. pout pout).

I agree with you on the smaller ships; my wife and I sailed the Star in 2015 and had a blast. It was our best vacation (and best cruise) yet

  4. Custom built for Alaska. . . so wouldn't it make sense for it to winter in Boston or NYC??? Seems strange that it will winter in Miami. Will it have an indoor pool like the RCI ships do? That would also make sense for a custom made for Alaska ship. (though when i went to Alaska, in May 2014, it was plenty warm outside, that was probably unusual.

I'm strictly guessing on this, but could it be because when a ship sails out of NYC or Boston it limits itself to primarily East Coast passengers, whereas a ship out of South Florida will draw a larger customer base? There's a reason why Port Miami is the world's busiest cruise port, followed by Port Everglades and Port Canaveral.

  5. happyhour_logo.jpgTravel back in time to January 16, 1919 – the eve of the Prohibition era – for a rip roaring good time with the interactive show, Happy Hour Prohibition – The Musical. Set in world famous Madam Lulu’s New Orleans speakeasy, tantalizing madams will regale you with tales of bootleggers and some of the era’s most famous tunes that will have you dancing in the aisles. Savor five of your own Prohibition Era specialty cocktails, each with a modern twist, while enjoying an unforgettable night with Miss Lulu and her girls.

Copied and pasted the above from the Norweglan Bliss website (entertainment section). Here is link (copy and paste in browser)

I'm pretty sure this show will not be complimentary since it comes with five "Prohibition Era" specialty cocktails. It doesn't say anything about food being included so my GUESS is $19.99 to $24.99 range. Another guess is that the cocktails are not full size :D It sounds like fun and I'm sure we'll do it unless reviews are really really terrible. Not sure if there will be any discount for those who have the Ultimate Beverage Package.

This sounds a lot like "Wine Lovers: The Musical" on the Escape insofar as tickets to the show included 5 or 6 glasses of wine (albeit paired with lunch). If that's the case, there will be a separate charge for this show (I believe Wine Lovers was in the $25/person range).

  6. Hey everyone!

We just today booked the Bliss for Jan.5th-12th, 2019! Actually, I should say that we switched our booking due to the fact that we were originally booked on the Epic for these same dates before finding out that sailing will very likely be cancelled for a charter.

Anyway, thank you for the this thread! We can't wait to board the Bliss in a little more than 19 months, and I'm really looking forward to following the updates and progress as she is being built.

  7. A couple of us posted this info on their roll call after they cancelled our cruise. We just wanted those cruisers to have a heads up just in case it happened to them. We were saying it would happened, but I would appreciate knowing.

    Enjoy you Bliss cruise.

    Will do, thank you!

  8. Hey everyone,

Just as a heads-up, we booked the Epic for Jan 5th-12th in Jan. 2019 and, according to our PCC, it is "99% likely" that Holy Ship! will be chartering out that sailing as well. As such, we're going to pull the trigger tomorrow and switch our reservation to the Bliss for the same dates.
