  1. If you're willing to do cruise first and then land, there is a really good deal available right now on the 13 day connoisseur cruisetour on Coral departing Vancouver on June 12th, 2019. We just booked that one in a mini suite for what I thought was a great price! I'm glad to see others' positive comments about the connoisseur tours; it's our 25th anniversary trip and our first time to Alaska and first time on Princess!

  2. I loved seeing your pic of your sweet pup and how he made it a happy occasion to come home. We have a blenheim cavalier as well, and although we love to travel, there is nothing like the greeting you get from your dog when you get back!

Just booked a 13 day Alaska cruisetour for June 2019, and though it's a long way off, I know it'll give me plenty of time to read all the great suggestions on these boards!

    Thanks for a great review!

  3. You need to contact Adventure Bound and determine, IF they can accommodate this ship schedule. If so, then it's up to you, to be up and ready to go- before the ship is clears.

Thanks, I understand that! I was actually trying to find out what others' experience was because I have no idea the distance from where the cruise ships dock to where the tour originates, etc. So it was more of an question of what others' experience has been for infomational purposes only; of course we will not rely on that for our own confirmation.

  4.

The one exception to the savings was the Tracy Arm excursion out of Juneau with Adventure Bound. They were substantially cheaper than the excursion offered through the ship and a much smaller boat and personal attention. If you will be in Juneau from at least 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, I highly recommend this tour with them.

I would love to do this tour when it comes time to book our excursions, but our initial schedule says our ship is to arrive in Juneau at 8am and the Adventure Bound website says boat boards at 8:15am and no waiting or refunds for late passengers. That seems like it's cutting it awfully close! For those that have taken this trip, what time did your ship arrive in Juneau?

  5. The best way to get the most out of a trip to Alaska with the least amount stress and work would be to take the longest connoisseur escorted tour that you can afford the time needed and cost.

I'm glad to hear your positive feedback about a connoisseur tour, because we just booked a 13 day for June 12, 2019 on Coral Princess, cruise first, then tour. There is a great deal available for that one particular date on the minisuite, and it was too good to pass up! I would have loved to have booked the 15 day, which was available at the same price, but my husband can only take so much time off work!

  6. The only other tip I can add is before we start placing the clothes in the suitcase, we unzip the lining. There are 3 metal rods which give the suitcase strength. In between the rods, we roll small items like underwear and socks, so before we start "packing" the clothes, all of the smaller items are in the suitcase.

That is a great idea, I've never thought of that!
