Was on Epic twice last year....February Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral and October European out of Barcelona.   

Loved everything about both cruises.  Service was great as was food and entertainment.  I would not hesitate to go on another Epic cruise.  We love the big ships, (been on Breakaway, Escapex2,  Epicx2, and boarding Bliss on Feb 2)  but will be trying the Star this October for Greek Isles. I'm sure it will be a much different experience for us being a much smaller ship than we are used to but we will enjoy every minute!!

I suggest you go on your Epic cruise and judge for yourself because what you enjoy and expect from your cruise may be different than what they do

Liked the old one better.  Can't get to ship specific posts   Frustrating.  I doubt very much that I will be using it much now.   Did manage to find my Roll call, so may only use that function if I do use it .  I do not find this improved at all......sorry, just my opinion.

Has anyone had trouble with them responding to emails? I sent a request over 24 hours ago and have gotten nothing back, even an email saying we will get back to you.

I have booked tours with them for October....remember the time difference. I usually received the replies about a day and a half after sending. Very helpful and will answer all your questions. Looking forward to touring with them.

This is a great thread. At least I'm not the only one that gets hyper excited when my cruise starts to get close. As soon as final payment is made I can't get enough of cruise critic. Planning excursions and surfing for every little bit of info I can get on the destinations and the ship.....good thing I have unlimited wifi:D

We are relatively new to NCL and cruising (going on 5th NCL cruise in October)and have been staying with the big ships as our first was Breakaway and we loved everything about it. We got hooked! Been twice on Escape, and October will be our second time on Epic this year, with Bliss booked for February. I will definitely consider Star now, giving us more options for dates and itineraries.

Loved everything about the ship in February so booked our dream itinerary on her for the October 28 Europe sail out of Barcelona. Didn't mind the cabins at all (always get balcony)and didn't find the ship ugly at all. We are in the planning stages now and can't wait!! We are hooked on cruising and NCL.:D

We always get Mimosas at breakfast in the dining room or O'Sheehans :)

My Sister and I are also on this sailing and looking forward to having a blast on the Epic. Not in our 20s any more but still young enough to love having fun. LOL.

Our first cruise was the Celebrity Reflection February 2015 and we found it a little boring with little to do that interested us. So we decided to try NCL Breakaway October that same year and we were hooked. This will be our 4th NCL cruise, the Escape being the other ship we cruised October 2016 and 2017, and have never been disappointed.

Really excited about Epic. 23 days. Can't wait :D

Thank you Lilly2015 for the reply. We have always been docked at the ports so have no idea what to expect when tendering.

Do we have to make tender reservations if we book an excursion through NCL?

I am currently booked on the #2 Itinerary on Escape leaving Sept 30. Haven't been to any of those ports. Looking forward to it!! I would love to do the #3 Itinerary on my next Western cruise though!! [emoji16]

I doubt airlines will be flying into PR in the near future to drop people off with the damage the island sustained. Have you checked with the airline about the status their flights to PR?

We are in the same situation after our Escape cruise in October. We used dayuse.com and booked a day room at Royal Beach Palace in FL. Has pool and restaurant and room is booked from 9am to 4pm. for $69. Nothing fancy, just a 2star motel not too far from the beach. Convenient and inexpensive for the day.

Thanks for the video. We have never had a Haven cabin, but got the upgrade email and really hoping we manage to get one of the bids accepted. Any Haven cabin would be amazing for us!!! Not holding my breath, but fingers crossed (yn)

If our itinerary changes from EASTERN CARIBBEAN (Tortolla,etc) to Western - we would do Belize, Honduras, etc???

We are booked on Western Itinerary on Escape September 30. Our ports are Roatan, Belize (private island),

Costa Maya and Cozumel.

Praying for all the people on the affected Islands and Florida. Heartbreaking devastation!! <|3:loudcry:

No need to bribe the room steward for a robe. They are available for the asking no what cabin you booked.

Thanks for that info. This will be our 3rd NCL and I was not aware I could just ask for one when staying in a balcony cabin. I always pack my own, but will save room in my case and ask for one this time.:D

Getting very excited about our September 30 Escape. Just a quick question: do you remember the cost of the prints taken by the photographer? We have never had any taken on our other cruises but are thinking about maybe trying to get a couple taken this time and hopefully they turn out well and the price is right.

My Sister and I will be on the September 30 sailing. We haven't purchased any of the photos while on board our previous cruises (we never like them) but this cruise we are hoping that some turn out well enough that we want to get them. Any chance you can find out the cost per photo for us? My Sister is considering getting the package before we go it it will save us money in the long run. Would really appreciate it if you have the time.

Loving this! I log on as soon as I get home from work. We booked our first Escape cruise for last October because of your first live review of the Escape. We loved it so much we are back on it this October with this Itinerary. So Excited, can't wait until September 30th!!!

We were also on this cruise. Not only best cruise to date (only 3 so far, lol), but best holiday ever! We want to book the Escape asap. We were lucky enough to be in Vibe with Beerman2. That "VIBE Family" and our amazing bartenders are one of the reasons we consider this cruise one of our best holidays ever. Miss them all terribly and hope we can all meet up again on the Escape.

We found the service to be very good throughout the ship. Outstanding service were our bartenders, Rommel and Roberto. Cannot say enough good things about them. We tried out almost all the bars, and found the service and drinks very good at all. No complaints here. :D

Our room steward, Cheryll was awesome.

We did not have a bad meal.....ate mainly at the MDR's. Service and food excellent at all. Enjoyed breakfast, lunch and late night munchies at O'Sheehans. Food was good, service could be a little slow late night. Only specialty we tried was Food Republic, and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed it so much, we chose to go back a second time.

Staying out at sea instead of Nassau was no big deal for us. We have been there many times. We were impressed that the Captain would give us updates and let us know what info they were getting. We had perfect weather and absolutely no issues.

We would not hesitate to book this ship again, and are actually looking at dates already. For those of you going soon.......I'm so jealous! Enjoy:D
