  1. Have been on freedom 4 times. Wonderful ship. Dream works is represented very well on the ship. The entertainment is outstanding. Also, they staff does a great job with kids that age in adventure ocean. You can leave the kids with them as well. I have only done RCCL. To be honest , I will never do another cruise line. That's how satisfied I am with the job they do. They do a lot of things geared towards the kids. Also plenty for the adults too. It's amazing really to see how effective RCCL is at entertaining guests of all ages

  2. I enjoy the Diamond Lounge in general, with all snacks and people to socialize with. At times we travel with Gold, Platinum or Emerald members so it would be nice not have to leave them behind. We could go to any bar and still take advantage of Diamond status. Very good to know. Thank you for the live response from the Rhapsody, but what are you doing on this message board...enjoy your cruise!!! cheers!! Thanks again.

  3. I read where someone on here mentioned that if you are diamond and the diamond lounge is too crowded that we can get 3 drinks at any bar on the ship. Does anyone know if that is true? Also, is that per day? During diamond lounge hours? I tried to respond but no response back. I may call crown and anchor and ask. Just thought I would reach out to see.

  4. We did the Allure, Freedom, Liberty and the Navigator all in the last 2 years. We are doing the Oasis in June. Over the years we have seen some drop off in service through about 16 cruises with RCCL. But it has been consistent across all of the ships. I would say less impact in MDR and more so in housekeeping and other venues around the ship. It seemed in the past they looked for ways to WOW you. Now it appears to be more nitpicking and cut backs. In the end, it is still a great value vacation. From the moment you step on the ship, I don't have to drive anywhere, worry about where I eat, how much I drink, I wake up somewhere different everyday, and IMO first class entertainment. For the money and the time, you won't get that roaming the mainland period. Even if the service has taken a step backwards , it's still better than the majority of places you would go otherwise in my experience.

  5. We tip on our own. You can go to Guest Relations ( think its called something else) on your first night, have them back off the automatic tipping. Then you can tip how you wish at the end of the cruise. Most the time we get great service. However, sometimes we don't. We still tip but maybe not as generously as we would otherwise. These workers are generally true professionals that work very hard for you. You will likely have great service.

  6. We get perks (including OBC) from our TA who is available weekends and after hours too. When we book, he meticulously goes over the details. When I booked during the BOGO promotion, I thought I got more credit than what I did. When he went over the details, I asked and he explained that I couldn't combine, blah, blah, blah. He ALWAYS sends a new invoice on any changes I make, always give a breakdown of everything and is very careful to follow-up in WRITING. In the past, he's even called us back and said that after running a few scenarios, he discovered that we could get two cabins cheaper than the ones we had requested he booked and asked if we wanted to consider this option. He's advised me a cruise I picked, last minute that he didn't think I was going to be happy with the ship because he knew my tastes and preferences. We insisted and he was right. We didn't like the ship, but it served its purpose as a way to get away for a much needed breather for a few days. You have to have a TA that knows you, knows your preferences and why you have these preferences and most of all...one you trust to take good care of you and make you a repeat customer. Royal Caribbean folks are there to book a cruise. Nothing more, nothing less.

I see some advantages with a TA. However, in 16 cruises with RCLI it has been very simple to handle ourselves and cut out the middle man/women.

  7. It's now based on the type of cabin you get as well. If you get an interior it's not worth as much as a balcony. The length of the cruise matters too but it was always $100 for 7 days. I will no longer do this. We are diamond members and have always done the next cruise. We change back and forth from interior and balcony but it's not worth the hassle for $25.00. It's hard to get an appointment on the ship at times to do it anyway.

  8. Are they interior? Front, back, balcony? Really it's hard to go wrong on RCI imo. However, it depends on what your after. Are you one (like me) that will just sleep in the room and really have no use for a view or balcony. Or are you one that is in the room a lot, orders room service and enjoys the privacy. Those are questions you need to ask yourself before you book. If you like those things and will use larger, scenic rooms then it's worth it for vacation. If not, the basic room comfort to me is the same. Hope that helps.

  9. You can reserve one but really don't need to. Labadee is massive in size and plenty of places to have privacy. It never feels overcrowded. I've been there 4 or 5 times. Very nice and truly a beech paradise.

  10. I have been on 16 cruises , all with RCI. ( will never try anyone else because of all the perks of a diamond member and it's hard to imagine a better time on another cruise line)

Always pack more hangers, never enough in the cabins.

Don't overpack, need room for things you buy ashore.

Get to the shows early for a good seat.

Try and book a cabin close to an elevator for easier access to the excitement. You find yourself constantly running back to the cabin for your camera, sun tan lotion, sun glasses, water shoes, whatever.....

A balcony is nice but over rated imo, it truly depends on you. If your always on the go you will only sleep in your room and won't get your money's worth from a balcony.

Be careful abroad, do your homework. Definitely do the things you want to do on the islands or ports but read up on the recommendations for each island for transportation and what to do and not to do. There are a lot of desperate people on some of the islands you will visit so you want to be mindful of that, your not in Kansas anymore. 😄

    There's a few, thanks
