  1. I got one planned in a few weeks , too late to buy insurance.

Then I got a text form some one at sea now, said they ran out of Eggs for Breakfast and no longer have some meats on the buffet as they are running out of fresh foods.

Then I read this that said they are going to an other port for more supplies.

Yep, next time I will get insurance.

Is this a joke? Has to be.

  2. "1. Carnival could've gotten this information out sooner. Yesterday would've been perfect as most folks could've adjusted course."

I don't know how. If you look at weather MODELS, as they are called, they are a number of variables that make the path 500-1000 miles wide at points. If I could predict the weather, I would be worth a bazillion dollars.

You anger the people who want to go, and the weather clears, and is ok. OR, you anger the travels for not.

You're ALWAYS going to have the Monday morning quarterbacks here. Carnival could've called these shots 2 days ago and they would've still been wrong in their eyes. I'm watching closely since we'll get probably get a taste of this storm next week in Louisiana. Yesterday I saw 1/2 of the reports stalling her out and the other 1/2 jogging her a little south then re entering the Gulf. I think Carnival's decisions were right on time.

  3. You said you're a long time Carnival cruiser but I take its been a while since you cruised. Your complaints/changes are old news.

I personally hope the Triumph stays in Nola for a while. Had two great vacations on her this year. And those issues you wrote about really didn't amount to anything for our group. Most are rebooked on the Triumph already.

  4. We didn't understand why theses burgers were so popular. /there was practically nothing on the toppings bar. The burgers were cold and greasy.

Nothing on the toppings bar? And cold? The toppings bar has lots of choices and they're so popular they practically go straight from the grill to your plate. Now as for greasy, can't argue with you.

  5. I am looking forward to trying one, but I doubt a burger is going to impress me. I cannot remember the last time I bought a burger from a restaurant. I can make a good burger at home, I want a fancier food when eating out and on a cruise.

I never thought a burger could impress me as much as Guys did, but it did. Wouldn't chose a cruise because of Guys but consider it a huge win if there's one on board.

  6. We too found the forward-most area of Serenity on Sunshine to be quiet.

Agreed. We've sailed the Sunshine twice and I thought its serenity area was 2nd to none. You can choose to be closer to the music and activities of the lido deck (which fills up 1st) or move to an area more forward for piece and quiet.

  7. We've been on the Sunshine twice out of Nola and PC. If I would have listen to the reviews I would have missed out on two wonderful vacations. The ship was beautiful the crew was outstanding. I also didn't find it any more crowded than my other cruises. Also the serenity area is my favorite by a long shot. The only negative thing for me was the comedy club. It was poorly redesigned but it no way a deal breaker. Enjoy your cruise!

  8. Ruthless, I am amazed at what FTTF does to people....there are whole threads dedicated to "I HAVE 39 DAYS AND FTTF IS SOLD OUT, WHAT WILL I DO IF I CANT GET IT":(:(

They do provide entertainment tho :D

It is entertaining but I'll be more amaze about the people that'll complain about this increase. They forget 2 things. 1st, no one is forcing them to get it and 2nd Carnival is a business. By the demand for this brilliant idea I would've jack up the price again long ago.

  9. I wonder if the price varies for length/port? I just checked for our booking out of NOLA in October and it's still 59.95, which is what i paid for it a few months ago. This will be the first time having it, and the only reason i even wanted it is so we can nap as soon as we get on. (We're driving all night from Austin to NOLA)

Na, probably starts a certain day. My April 2017 Dream cruise out of Nola is $69.95 now.

  10. Well, I've experienced both cruise lines - Carnival and Princess. Depends on what you like - no one can decide for you. Depends on if you want class or you will settle for less class. Carnival is less class. There are children on board Carnival. Lots of them running amuck. Playing on the elevators, parents are no where in sight and the parents like it that way.

The excursions are the same no matter what cruise line you are on. We don't cruise to go on excursions. However if we see one we like we'll go.

If you like to drink, Princess has a Happy Hour (2 times a day). One at 3:00 pm and one at 10:00 pm. You buy one drink and get the same drink for $1. Carnival does not offer a happy hour. Carnival does have drink specials but I see nothing special about them.

There's no longer smoking allowed on either cruise lines so IMHO that's a plus for both cruise lines.

If you go to you tube and type in "Brawls on Carnival cruise ships," you'll see plenty of them listed. Enjoy the laugh. These are the types of people who cruise on Carnival. On Princess you'll find a different class of people. Most are over the age of 40, very few if any children on board, more relaxing type of atmosphere.

Food is subjective. What tastes good to me, you may not like. However, I believe Princess has the better tasting food. Lobster is served on elegant night and you can order as many as you want. Princess has a restaurant called "The Crab Shack." All the snow crab you can eat, peel and eat shrimp, deep fried shrimp, hush puppies, clam chowder, corn on the cob all for $20. Carnival does not have any venue like this.

Princess has an International Cafe. It serves fresh brewed coffee in the morning along with pastries. The pastries are free, the coffee you pay for. It's suppose to be premium coffee (buy a coffee card). At lunch if you don't want to go to Lido, you can get sandwiches and salads at the IC cafe. They also have gelato there. Carnival does not have this kind of venue. The IC on most of Princess ships is located in the Atruim. People get snacks and sit and listen to a musician playing.

If you do a search here "Princess vs Carnival" there's several threads that come up. You can skim through them and see what others are saying. We like Princess and have 2 cruises not too far away.

So with me being "less class", if I want to continue to have a fun vacation I stick with Carnival or if I want something that represents the mood of a funeral I change to Princess. Thanks, that helps.

  11. Doconner, When we went to the chat function on the app everyone linked up with me (2 rooms, 6 people) were already there. If they paid their $5 their name was highlighted. It's also had an add someone function.

  12. One of the things I learned in life, is that money talks and also clouds an opinion. For example, Carnival is the cheapest cruise line sailing, so many people choose it. But other cruise lines also fill their ships, and often times in peak periods, you can't find exactly what you want if you wait too late to book. So although Carnival fills ships, it is not the best.

Money also pays for services. The less you pay, the less you get. If you take away money, and tell people they can choose any ship they want, and spell out what each ship has to offer, I doubt Carnival would ever come out on top. I also believe for some people, it's good to start on the bottom, and work you way to a better experience.

Workebee op, guess you should feel privileged, your first post on here and you got some advise from one of the biggest trolls here. Look at his history before you take anything he post serious. I know it's pathetic but cc allows it.
