It might not ever be...it was designed epecifically for the Asian market, so I don't see it ever leaving that area, at least not in the near future.

This isn't about how much you have cruised it is about these companies and continuing their greed of keeping these runs alive. They skipped a day to make it back to NYC on time in the middle of a Bombogenis storm. Hope all 3 Azipods hold for the next 7 hours, if they start failing this vessel has no steering capability in 35 to 40' seas. Wishing them all an uneventful last hours ride back to NYC!

 

This reminds me why I will never do a Trans Atlantic run or as Scott Styles said " I wished it had happened in July"

They have it under control. They know what they are doing, trust me. All 3 pages of this thread, no negative comments until yours, so why do you feel need to make comments. Also, after looking at your signature, have you sailed NCL, and if not, why are you posting on here.

So we have a 3 Meal Specialty dining package as one of our offers and want to know if I could purchase another Specialty dining package (either a 3 or 4 meal package) so that we can do Specialty dining most nights of our 7 day cruise. I’m assuming I can, just want to know if anyone has done it.

They had lobster last week on the Epic. It is served as a combo with shrimp and calamari. Here is the current menu from last week

That menu is from 2012... if you look at the lower right corner it says 1/12.. lobster has been gone for at least 2 years, but that's on the breakaway

That's disappointing to hear they're still running blowers to dry the carpets, and that the ship is musty.

They were only using the blowers for the first few days of the trip, so by maybe the 4th or 5th day they were gone

One of our perks on our upcoming cruise is the Adult Beverage Package (according to our vacation summary on the NCL website). I am a little confused. I understood that it included only alcoholic drinks - no sodas, coffees, etc. But I don't see this package described anywhere - it's always the Ultimate Beverage Package. Can anyone tell me if the package I received includes soft drinks and coffees? I'm a little confused. Thanks.

The names are interchangeable...and it does include soft drinks, just not cans and it doesn't include speciality coffees

Curious---- for those on the BREAKAWAY now----- leaving NY on Sat 1/6 ~~~~~ are all those soaked areas and drenched carpets totally back to " normal'' ?? Videos of the damage(s) from their ""storm"" experience shows quite a mess.

A couple of rooms on deck 9 are having the carpets dried out, but there is no other visible damages that I could see.

Wonder how they fixed all the balcony doors, flooded floors, wet rugs in cabins etc...fast enough for the next passengers to board. I bet some cabins were a mess. Hmmm

On board now...the few cabin that got wet are being dried out with heavy duty dryers since they got back yesterday, la cucina which has water was all fixed up and open for dinner last night. They made quick work of the repairs

Do they always use a tug to turn her? I was asleep when we came into port.

I'm thinking its has to due to the wind...It has to be going slow to turn into the slip and I think the wind was making that maneuver harder then normal so they used the tugs

Oh well...I guess autoscan is better than just being fixed, like the Port cam currently is on the GW Bridge...won't even see her on that cam, unless the PTZ folks 'wake up':)

Agreed...one on hand, i am understand that people are scared, but this ship are built to go in strong weather and also on twitter people are blaming NCL and the captain for making a bad decision to sail. Im pretty sure they didn't deliberately do it. They know how to handle bad weather and they will be a little late getting in so we will be late leaving. It happens when you sail in the winter, just have to go with the flow

And if you read the twitter feeds, they are making it out like it's the end of the world...people in life jackets in the stairways, etc

In the casino, the tables usually close around 3 and the slot are always open unless in port

What is the gambling policy while docked in Bermuda overnight or for several days? Do they allow it?

As a frequent and loyal cruiser of NCL, I have grown unhappy with their increase in fees. I understand that they want to make a nice profit but sadly the quality of the experience onboard has declined.

 

1. What started out as an unlimited drink package has now turned into a limited package with a cap of $170 of drinks per guest per day plus the increase in gratuities. In addition, the drinks have been watered down and contain less alcohol. This was very noticeable on my last sailing on the Escape in September.

 

2. As the Bliss gets ready to sail next year, I'm hearing that it will also have additional fees to use the go-karts and other new features of the boat. I doubt very seriously this will be a modest fee.

 

Of course there is no stop to fees once they get started. I can see in the near future resort fees and fees for luggage. If this continues, I may have to start doing inclusive resorts. I just one to pay one price and be done with it.

We are sailing on the Gem this weekend. Can anybody tell me anything about their Poker Tourneys? Specifically looking for a starting chip count and a blind structure.

 

Also, what is the rake for their cash game. Ive seen as high as 15 bucks max per hand and wanted to know what it was on the Gem?

The cash tournaments are you $80 buy in with 2000 chips to start with 30 min levels. For the first 2 levels its unlimited rebuys at $80 per rebuy for 2000 chips. After the first 2 levels , there is an $80 add on for 2000 chips. After that, no more rebuys or add ons.

For the satellite tournements to the big gsme on the epic, it's a $100 buy in with all the same structures as above.

For Cash games, it's a 10% rake up to $25 per hand
