Great question! Sorry for the late reply on this. Did you stay with the port cabin? We were Starboard (cabin 1118) and we did NOT face the port at most of our docks. The only one with a direct view of the port was in Martinique. Granted this can change depending on weather, etc. and how they decide to move into the port, however, if you kept your cabin on the port side you should be in good shape!
We too like the view of the port / dock and were a little disappointed we didn't get more of that view from starboard.
Thanks for your reply. We did stay with 1247...an angled balcony on the port side. 1120....right next to 1118 that you stayed in, was available, and those first angled balcony cabins are my favorites. Having taken this same cruise several times I wanted to confirm that port was still pier side most of the time. This is a “biker” cruise...and they are very interesting to watch. Usually 20 or so bikers get on and off with beautiful motorcycles and it is fascinating to sit on the balcony and watch them. They meet up with groups from each island and what a wonderful way to see everything! I think that would be so much fun...but at 71 guess I am a little past learning how to ride a Harley...but I can dream! 😁
My new goal is reaching elite plus after this cruise and start booking suites! We are on the Reflection next year and hope to be on the Edge in February. Thanks for the quick reply. It sounds like you really enjoy your cruises...best review ever. Thanks!

This may seem a silly question, but can you tell me which side, port or starboard, was the pier side on the most on this past cruise? In the past the port side was it, but curious if that is still the same. We like the view of the pier and are booked in a port, but a starboard cabin just came available.
Thanks!

So disappointed she will be off for our Jan 21st sailing. She makes a cruise exciting! I was with her on the Connie and the Eclipse. The only one I’ve every enjoyed other than Sue, (and frankly the only other one I can remember!) is Alejandro. He was very funny.
-
Thanks, sure hope she will be there thru the end of Jan as we are on the 1/21 cruise.

At the end of the TA, GRM Jon Pilling is leaving on vacation, and CD Sue Denning will join Eclipse. Staff Captain Ioannis Kasimatis is slated for vacation shortly.
Sue Denning is joining Eclipse? Will she be there in January or do you know? She is my favorite along with Alejandro. Thank you!

How do you request for the beds to be apart? Not an option online that i can see, do you have to phone up?
They used to do that and it was on the reservation....not any more. The last few cruises i have taken on Celebrity they separated the beds after we got there. I don't know why they changed it.

On previous trips we just got off the ship and there were lots of small vans that take 2-4 people to take you on a tour. We lucked out and got a great driver but don't remember his name now. Easy and inexpensive. We are renting a golf cart and doing our own tour this time.
-
I booked a golf cart today....got a reply within a couple of hours of my email. My mom can't walk for an extended length of time, so this will be perfect for us. I love Bonaire, but can't stand the bus tours. Will be very pleasant doing this sightseeing at our own pace.
-
We just booked a golf cart reservation after reading reviews on a TripAdvisor. Sounds like a great way to see the island at our own pace...it is such a small, easy island to get around.

Has anyone done the park and cruise from the Intercontinental Doral? Is it safe? Has anyone heard anything about leaving the car?
If you did, what was the Uber/Taxi fee you paid to the port?
Thanks for any help!
Stephanie
We are staying at the Hampton Coconut Grove...they have gated parking for leaving my car, and it seems to be safe in that area. However, we haven't stayed there but are going on recommendations from others about it. They also shuttle you over to the port at no charge...assume I would have to pay a good tip with my luggage!

We are driving into Fort Lauderdale for a cruise out of Port Everglades in March 2017. I need suggestions for a hotel with easy access to the port that will allow long term parking during our cruise.
We have always used Fairfield Inn and Suites on Griffin Road....wonderful service, and parking is very safe....have stayed there at least 8 times. Sometimes we use their shuttle and other times we uber....uber is cheaper. We have done 7, 10 and 14 day cruises and left our car.

We're flying down a day early and staying in Fort Launderdale the night before our cruise in March. Does anyone know which shuttle service could pick us up at the Hyatt hotel (1851 SE 10th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316) and take us down the port of Miami?
I know there's a few but just looking to see what people would suggest for one companys they've used.
Thanks!
We are using SAS....recommendation from someone on my roll call that had used them before. I don't know all the hotels they pick up from, though, but their website has a list when you check out the pricing.

What an amazing review. Do you know anything about cabin 2104? We will be sailing on March 22, 2014.
Betty
2104 is a nice cabin....2105 and 2106 are my favorites when I can get them...stayed in 2106 last year, and booked in 2107 on the Feb 8 cruise. They have larger balconies. However, the location is awesome...quiet, convenient to everything....my favorite location on the Eclipse. Have fun!

I wonder if you would get the 10% off the additional amount if you were upgrading from the 123 promo classic to the premium beverage package? We are considering upgrading to the premium package and thought we would just wait until on board ship.

I always arrive at least one, preferably two, days ahead of sailing. I wouldn't schedule anything any closer. Having almost missed a ship one time...I mean they literally pulled up the gangplank behind us  I never cut it close now. The airlines have just become too unreliable. I always go to the dock an hour before the check in time...and my goal is someday to be the first on board! :D However, there are always lots of people before me, so I have yet to figure out how early I need to get there.

Cosol is a very reputable tour guide and has built up his business on the great recommendations from customers on sites like cruise critic. He gives a wonderful comprehensive tour...I have used him three times. I never worry about getting back on time. If he ever let a group miss a ship he would be ruined...they are extremely careful to allow plenty of time in case of an emergency. He is definitely one of the best. All of his guides are good, but try to get on his van if you can.

Hmm I had heard that Sue was in Labadee, nice to know she will be on our cruise on the 22 March (sorry miched you were right).
CD's were not someone I took any notice of until we had a truely terrible woman a couple of cruises ago. She was so horrid I avoided her as often as I could. Now I am looking forward to meeting one that is noticable in a nice way.
Cheers, h,

_________________________:D_______________________I think the Sue in Labadee is a Sue Richardson...I don't know her but read that post somewhere on here. Sue Denning is the only cruise director whose name I can remember from my cruises. I think she is the best....personable, fun, and always speaks to everyone and remembers them. When Sue is on board the entertainment seems to really step it up a notch and she is everywhere....seems to be in all the venues and always with a smile. She is returning to the Eclipse on February 8....my cruise! :):)

Definitely will NOT refund the drinnk package that was prepurchased on a CC with any leftover OBC. You will not even see the purchased package on your onboard account. The only reason you'll know you have it is it will be printed on you seapass card.
Whether you get a refund will depend on the type of OBC, and who issued it (TA or Celebrity). Most if not all Celebrity issued OBC is not refundable. You can however go to the casino onboard and take out whatever is left in cash, paying the 5% service fee.
Happy Sailing,
Jenna
I never knew you could do that....thanks for the information! With the drink package I might actually have some OBC left! :D

Ben said that he will be off the Eclipse by Feb 8 and that Sue will be on.
Thanks for the confirmation....I love Sue and look forward to her being CD....last cruise i took she came on as we were going off, and we really missed her.

I have a chance to upgrade from a Concierge Class C2 angled balcony room to an Aqua Class room with a large angled balcony...at no additional charge. Is Blu worth it....I understand I can still eat in the MDR every night if I choose to, but wondering if trying the food in Blu is worth doing the upgrade. Does anyone have a current Blu menu? All I can find show just one day. Thanks for your opinions!

Do you know if Sue Denning will be back on board as CD by the February 8, 2014 cruise? She is my favorite! Thanks!

Personally I would much rather someone try to find me and return something. In this day of the internet it is amazing how you can find someone. I left a complete outfit (what I wore on board) on the Constellation a few years ago, and when I called to check on it 3 days after returning home I was told it would have been disposed of. Guess it wasn't valuable enough, but I sure would have paid to have it shipped to me. Oh well, taught me to double check everywhere in the cabin before leaving and not to put things on the top shelf in the back! :D
Oh, and now I will make sure to check cruise critic if I lose something else! :)
FYI, I read a hint recently that when putting things in the safe, take a small ziploc bag to put items in to keep them from getting caught in the crack in the safe. Great idea!

We cruised on the Eclipse last January....has the entertainment changed any this year or is the main show still the same one? We are cruising in February.

We are on the Jan 21 cruise...we have probably been on the same one before...have done this cruise 3 times also, once with the bikers on board. They are so entertaining. I always try to get an angled balcony concierge cabin and usually succeed by checking every day until someone cancels one. We have also done starboard and port, and port seems to always have the best view of the pier and town...but you never know when this may change. It probably also depends on who else is docked and other factors. Enjoy your cruise!
