Hey all. I am cruising on the Ascent 12/10/23. This is my first X cruise. I have been on RCL, NCL, and CCL. The past few cruises have been on NCL in the Haven. I cancelled my Viva Haven suite and I am now staying in a Retreat suite this go around. I know what to expect on NCL so I'm looking for tips, hints, or "tricks" in the Retreat. Any and all info from Haven/Retreat cruisers is welcomed.
Thank you,
~Adam

I'm just confused why you'd be less than happy?
I was saying I wouldn’t be thrilled if I opted to tip using a $2 and the crew member was snarky about it. Doubt they would be though.
Happy cruising. I’m ready to be on the water again.

I don't think a crew member will turn down receiving a unicorn that can buy them something...but you being "less than happy" means you want attention. Just give the crew a tip and move on. There doesn't need to be a story, something unique, etc. They gave you good service, so you gave them cash, preferably the easiest cash they can spend. If they say no, then keep the money and shut up.
Good lord y'all, why's this so complicated? Oh.....ego. Right. I forgot.
I'm on your side. Tip is a tip. Who cares what denomination the bills are? Maybe I'll grab a stack for my upcoming Prima voyage 🤑💸

Thank you so much and congrats!
I would be THRILLED!
Its wasnt cheap, but much less than booking Haven outright. Went from an aft balcony to a 2 bedroom suite w/ large balcony on Encore last year.

New old stock might be a nice name, but it still is different than new (hence the need for the different name). You can have a 2017 Automobile that has never been driven, but that doesn't make it "new".
That not entirely correct. If the vehicle has never been titled, registered, or reported as sold to the manufacturer, it is brand new. You simply won't have the manufacturers warranty left.
As far as 2 dollar bills go, I'm not against them. We add additional tip based on extraordinary service. If I had a 2 dollar bill and a crew member turned it down or got upset, I'd be less than happy. It's US currency.
Just my .02 cents, or should I say 2 Dollars 🤣

Hi.
If I'm in a balcony, would I get to bid on Haven?
I've only ever booked Haven and this is the first year we have booked Balcony with Vibe, althoughmy dh and I keep trying to control ourselves and not just book Haven.
Thank you.
Yes, you can bid from Balcony to Haven. I've done it and won in the past.

All adults in the room are required to purchase the package.

Use the steam from the shower. Works every time.
-
Who are the Haven bar tenders? I’ll be on her, in the Haven 1/29.
-
Odd. I submitted mine a couple weeks ago and my account was credited within 24 hours. Did you book direct or with a travel agent?
-
Excellent, thank you. P+ is all we'd be looking for.

Has anyone confirmed if you can upgrade on the ship? I want to visit the Haven Bar and see what is actually available prior to buying the upgrade.
Or, has anyone been on Prima in the Haven and have a photo of their liquor menu?
Thank you,
Adam

Go to ncl.com on your computer. It says "Register" or "Log In" at the top right of the screen. Once you log in to your account (if you have already created one), your vacation summary should show up immediately.

Buy one get one. That's why it cost us $250 total for two people to fly.
You're lucky. I got my confirmation for my January cruise on 11/26 with no offer to decline. I paid well over the actual cost of the flights and the flights they chose are garbage. Boston to Orlando. Plenty of good options available too. Very frustrating.

This literally just happened to me too, for the Bliss Jan 21st sailing. Was confident I got the Spa Balcony (said processing) and then it said Unable to Upgrade and now all are back to pending.
I got confirmation today that I won the 2BR Family Villa. I was hoping for the Aft, which was processing yesterday, but I'll take it!

Looks like upgrades for this Sundays Encore sailing just closed. I had 3 Haven bids to upgrade from a B1-Aft Balcony. It appears I won an HC-Haven Aft Balcony. My bid was $30 into the fair range. $1150pp.
Certainly some nice savings over the price on their website!!
Well this is odd. This morning my HC-Aft Haven upgrade now shows "Unable to Upgrade" but my offer for an H5-2 BR Haven Lrg Balcony is "Processing".
Has anyone had this happen before?
Thank you,
~Adam

I'm excited!
What are the details of your upgrade? I am still awaiting my Haven upgrade from an aft balcony on Encore this Sunday.

Has anyone won their upgrade bids for this coming weekend?

Thank you for the updates. I too am cruising the Encore next Sunday and will be anxious for updates throughout the week. This cruise has been cancelled on me 3 times since March 2020.
Enjoy your voyage.

When are they opening the upgrade bids these days? My last 3 cruises got cancelled prior to final payment. I'm sailing 1/16/22 on the Encore and have got the upgrade banner yet.
Thank you,
Adam

Still waiting on my refund from a 3/28 sailing. I cant believe people with later sailing dates who filed for refund after me are getting their refunds already. Terrible customer service. Totally insane to me.

I got the additional points for my cancelled 3/28 Haven suite. We'll see if they stay on my account after I get my refund, if I ever get my refund! 🤣
Typical NCL Haven cruiser. Looking for Retreat tips

Thank you to all that responded. I am in a MC Sky Class Suite. Everything else was sold out. Although I enjoy the "ship within a ship" feel, I am looking forward to exploring and enjoying the entire ship. I do enjoy the Havens prior disembark/embark at ports, but I'm sure that wont ruin my upcoming cruise. I admittedly don't use my butler very often. My reason for staying in the Retreat is for better dining and less crowded areas to unwind and relax.
